    Nice work. Just a thought, in the pasture you have some smaller pine trees. Maybe if you see a likely looking one, leave it there until Christmas. Come back out in December to cut it down. Free Christmas tree!

    You should put some insulation between Mavericks room and the living room, it's a small spot but man it'll save on the noise in that bedroom. Or some kind of soundproofing.

    • @fancybrooks3156
      @fancybrooks3156 5 років тому +1

      Don't the entry closet and the desk nook separate Maverick's room from the living room?

    • @MyCatsR2Crazy
      @MyCatsR2Crazy 5 років тому

      @@fancybrooks3156 yeah it might be the entry closet if it'll take care of any noise but there might be noise from there the other side is the media center and I don't think that's an issue because his closet is on the other side of that

    I know I have already posted but I just had to say something. Been getting caught up on Jeff at bobblehead homestead and what an amazing transformation that has taken place. The help of so many other homesteaders shows how tight that community really is. That being said I think it needs to be mentioned that u two showing up and helping him in the beginning was the spark that lit the flame. Not to mention that grumpy is spoiled and happy. Now it's the tiny house that love built. Thank u for being a shinning example of how things go better when we all help.

    I wondered what happened to you four, so glad to hear it was only a camera problem. Please know that we miss your shares with us and look forward to them everyday. Keep up the good work, winter will be here before we all know what hit us. I've got 2 more round bales of hay to get and I will be all set for the winter. Hay way up north has been a problem for the farmers to put up with this crazy crazy weather. Take care

    2 things to consider to maybe? Get a goose to live with the chickens. The goose will sound the alarm if a hawk or other predator is lurking, and the chickens and the goose will run back to the coop. 2. Mount an outdoor camera with night vision, motion detection, and an SD card to capture exciting action videos, when the goose is asleep.

    What a fun and informative video. Glad the camera kept rolling. Awesome bounty from the garden. Maverick looked so proud. Belle is adorable helping with the pasture - takes after her mother. Those kids love each other - you can tell when Maverick was holding the tree limbs and waiting for Belle. I liked the flowers. I also like the birdhouse shelf behind you on the tree. I'm going to do that. Wow, you even worked on the inside of the home. Like I said - great video. Take care.

    I think your herd of little velociraptors benefit from having a lot of bush to scurry into for protection. They haven't been penned in and helpless. They know the space, they know where to hide. They know how to scatter. It's hard for a predator to trap them in one spot. I hope that they're gobbling up all the ticks around the place.
    If you've been watching Bobblehead Homestead, you will have seen Grumpy cat turn into a housecat. Amazing! He is enjoying Jeff's little house, lounging on the window sill and computer table. The good life!

    Our weather was too hot this year and I lost about 4 plants to wilt even though we ended up using our patio umbrella to shield them during the 100+ heatwave. I've harvested white eggplant that was absolutely wonderful, no bitterness what so ever, lots of beefsteak tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and that's about it. We lost our cucumber and pepper plants along with two tomato plants that actually reseeded themselves from last year. Your corn looked tender and worth the entire planting experience for young children to appreciate the experience.

    You are really coming along with the house......I know you are anxious to get it completed to the point that you want for the winter. You have done a beautiful job. In the spring you can plant another garden, take a little care of it and get 4 ears of corn....Ha ha.....I planted a fall crop of field peas.....I live in the south ...Florida to be exact and hopefully we will get peas to put in the freezer. You are giving your children such good work ethics....they help a lot too. It is a real pleasure to see a family work together. Hope your new camera comes soon!!!

    In today's modern world, it is almost a dream goal for a mother to stay home with the children. But for Both Mother and Father to be able to stay home with the children is Priceless! Only homesteading offers that. It is the one thing that ensures that Homesteading will grow. Modern office life causes both parents to miss the most special thing life has to offer. Homesteading gives it back. You can't schedule things like the memory of your son running all out to reach his Dad and then falling just short of his goal. Few fathers get memories like that. Homeschooling is the best way to teach. It is artificial to send children off to a warehouse-like building to be taught by strangers who don't share your values, necessarily. Far more natural to grow up seeing how mom and dad interact with people, meet challenges, and solve problems. BTW I really do like your new channel name so much that I wish I'd thought it up myself.

    Have you considered putting the stove in the corner so you can have the chimney on the side of the house instead of in the front. That would keep the front of your house more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Yeah, those hawks will get your chickens. We have lost several chickens to hawks.

    I am repeating what a few others have said. We missed you over the Labor Day weekend. Now we know that your video camera was not working correctly. Good thing that you have a new one on order. On your homestead, there is always work to be done so you can switch to another chore and get that one completed. I do the same thing with my chores around the house. I have a long list written out so when I finish one and cross it off it gives me a very good feeling.

We have a couple more years and we will own it free and clear, then plan to start remodeling but man it is hard to wait sometimes. Glad to hear hay is cheap by you guys, it is pretty pricey by me this year, we have had so much rain that it has been hard to get it off the fields. I don't know about you guys but man what a good feeling it is to have all of your hay and to be ready for the winter.

    Doug, I like your little helper. Maverick is so cute being a big helper. I loved seeing my kids do the same thing with their Dad.
    Your little girl, Belle, is adorable and a big help to you and Ashley. You remind me of my husband and I raising our boys.
    Your living room is looking better and better. You are getting it done. Keep up the good job you are doing.
    The face on Maverick while holding the corn was hilarious.

    Have you called to be sure it hasn’t come in? Don’t depend on them to call! I’ve ordered before from Lowe’s and things got mixed up and it had been in For 10 days!

      We haven't called, but last time we were in the store we asked about it and it wasn't in yet. We'll find out again soon if it's in.

    I've missed your videos! The kiddos are beautiful and are so happy! The corn looked really good! Next year a bumper crop!!!lol The reno is coming along nicely. .....slow and steady with a million other things in - between! Hope your new camera comes in soon AND the door. It's so frustrating losing personal footage! Hope to see more video soon.

    Cute Maverick helping his daddy. Watching you all working the field reminds me how my family would all be outside helping with yard work.

    I miss Michigan- central Indiana sucks. lol I miss living in Northern Indiana because I could dip up to Michigan whenever I wanted. :) Have you ever thought about doing a recap video just to tell your whole story for people that have only been watching you a few months and who don't have time to go all the way back and watch all of your videos?

    I love how much your personality seems to show in the comments. Especially the ones replying to people who try to tell you how to live your life, parent, or general personal stuff.
    I enjoy seeing your progress! Yall are great

    Got a little nervous ... glad to see you back. You guys still look pretty cheerful, even with the camera issues and all the work you’re doing. That’s what I like, you never let things get you down ... at least what you sho us, lol.
    Loved the picture of Maverick at the end ... too cute. Best wishes and looking forward to the next one.
