Dear Lord I am only on lorazepam, quetiapine, prozac and I feel a lot of side effects. You function extremely good considering how much meds you are on. By the way got addicted to your channel, we need more people with schizophrenia on youtube who are struggling and still live fulfilling life. It just motivates us to do our best and reminds us that we are not alone in this.
Yes there does need to be more people! The more the merrier honestly, and yeah, its nice to know we aren’t alone, that’s the best part about the SchizoKitzo project so far., is me learning that I’m not alone and other people learning that too :) Thanks so much!
Dear friends I took zoleptil zeldox risperdal socian abilify and I I'm on 20 mg Olanzapine but what makes me catatonic is Haldol it literally eats you alive inside and in real life it removes your ability to express yourself every time I'm with my doctor my thoughts are not in my head but the worst feeling is being eaten alive
My testimonity:i am a 15 yr old boy who lives in Romania who has been diagnostied with schizoaffective disorder 3 momths ago who was healed by the grace of Jesus Christ(sorry for my bad english). All glory to him🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
being schizo myseld and watching you talk is just insane. you talk just like me casually says : unaliving myself its nice to not feel alone 🖤 i start my meds tomorrow i was 302d last week
hang in there! ive been 5150d 5 times in less than 7 years but these last 2 years ive recovered a lot and am doing much better working with my psychiatrist and always on meds.
I also have schizoaffective. You remind me very much of me. People always tell me that I'm "very intense," and I think I understand why. I act just like you. Very high energy. I wish you the very best. You're very smart. I hope you do something creative, the world needs your brains and energy.
Creativity is what gets me out of bed in the morning, and I try to do something creative every day! Helps with my mental health so much. And emotional intensity can be good and bad, and because of that I love it and I hate it at the same time. That is also how I feel about a lot of my mental illness journey, it’s… interesting and well, intense! But, anyways, you’re not alone for sure! Hang in there ^_^
When my son gets out of the hospital I'm going to recommend him to your channel. He's fighting accepting his diagnoses. We need more people like you who are being very honest about your experiences. ❤
I have schizoaffective depressive type, I'm currently only taking abilify(aripiprazole) and fluoxatine. Thanks for making this videos, such a relief knowing that I'm not alone
I was diagnosed 15 years ago. I didn't accept help (meds) until 5 years ago. I still struggle so much. There are fewer voices on meds, but my mood swings are still a huge issue. Can you please help me Guage where I'm at compared to my fellow schizos? 😉 How often do you hear voices? When you do hear them, how long does it last? Days? Weeks? Etc... I feel like maybe I need to take stronger meds. It scares me, though. If I'm not throwing a bipolar fit. I'm numb. The only things I feel are nothing or frustration, heartache, and anger. Damn sorry, I'm rambling on and on. I just need to know what your experience is. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and hopefully for taking the time to reply.
@@5150mre I might have a different type of schizo, instead of hearing voices, I experience thought insertions. It's hard to track since usually it's so seamless, but after a while I realize that it wasn't my thought at all. From what I read from your comment, you might want to track, anticipate and mitigate your symptoms. It helped me a lot, hope it helps you too!
Careful with the lithium...l have 3rd stage chronic kidney disorder...and never let them increase it. They increased mine, and a week later, was in icu in a coma. Both kidneys shut down, no symptoms, no warning. Try to find something to replace it, kiddo! ♥
Yes, good advice. Everyone here should try the medical ketogenic diet. It’s what you eat and don’t eat. Look up for the Baszucki Group. Learn how to not use SO much medicine but must learn to eat nutritiously.
I opted out of taking medication about 13 years ago. I was Diagnosed with Schizophrenia, then at a later date schizoaffective disorder. I started off with Abilify and a Benzo after about 6 month I stopped taking it.
I have borderline personality disorder with hallucinations, panic disorder and stress induced seizures. I find my medication really helpful along with therapy. I take: -Sertraline -Aripiprazole -Clonazapam -Propranolol -Diazepam -Melatonin -Buspirone I wish anyone who’s reading a happy and healthy mindset. Thanks for reading 💖
I was going to check-in with some of you but thisis nescription abuse from somewhere. Perhaps Big Pharma is at work once again . Please read the information that comes with your bag of meds. Cheers!
My diagnosis is bipolar I with elements of schizophrenia, and I also take zyprexa (olanzapine) but gained like 120 pounds in weight over 14 years that I'm on it. However, it completely eliminated paranoia, hallucinations, delusions, mania, depression so I chose to stick with it. I'm really glad it works for you without weight gain :) Best of luck
I hate that zyprexa is so helpful for so many people but causes so much weight gain. I’m glad you’ve found a way to make it work, but my heart breaks for all the people I’ve interacted with that deal with that side effect. Maybe one day there will be a better drug out there that doesnt cause such issues.
I’m not a doctor, but that sounds like the medication. I have read that it can have you gain weight even on an extremely reduced calorie diet. Have you tried any of the glp or similar medications with it? Idk if that would even work. Idk if there are contraindications, but if that medication helped you but was weight +, you have metabolic syndrome and actually need the medications similar to what type 2 diabetics take. So maybe ask 🤷🏻♀️
@@Shoppinghappens Thanks for the advice, I will do some research on that glp medication, never heard of it before to be honest with you. And yes, I definitely have metabolic syndrome unfortunately, probably early stage of diabetes too. But like you Americans say, you can't get something for nothing, that's how I look at my meds. I gain mental stability at the expense of some physical damage to my body, and I learned to live with it. And people around me thankfully accepted me as I am now, whereas when I was manic I definitely exhibited certain amount of anti-social behavior and I'd really prefer not having to go through that again, so yeah, for me it's swallow those 3 pills in the morning and night and simplify life. Thanks again and good luck :)
That entire class of a-typical antipsychotics cause me to gain huge amounts of weight, get high blood sugar or get involuntary movements. I can't take any of them.
@raethompson4766 Well thank you for your information, I will definitely bring it up for discussion next time I visit my psychiatrist. I read a little bit about it on wikipedia, seems like a very good medication, I guess my primary concern is potentially relapsing into mania if I experiment, and Zyprexa is so darn effective in my case when it comes to positive symptoms, but I'll mention it to my doctor and see what's her opinion. Thanks again, best of luck :)
Venlafaxine (Effexor) and Promazine... PTSD and on top of that three incident's traumatic shock in 12-month's. It is good to listen to you... my head is totally battered at the moment. Just watched a few video's of yours. I'm listening...
I love your positive approach to taking meds and following doctor’s orders when dealing with mental illnesses. There’s so much negative discourse online around these topics, and I think it’s important to have some positive representation and thankfulness around these pills that save our lives everyday. Much love from a Lamotrigine-Abilify combo, bipolar 2 fan! ❤
Hi Kit! I also have schizoaffective disorder (bipolar type). I take Lamictal/Lamotragine and used to take Geodon/Ziprasidone but recently switched to Latuda/Lurasidone. You're right! It really did help me have a more functional life after finding the balance of medicine for me! Thank you for creating a channel about schizoaffective experience!
I have the same diagnosis as you. I only take 10 mg zyprexa, lexapro, and propranolol. Lately I've been very depressed and isolated. People admire my ability to live alone but I don't think that makes it a good thing.
It is so cool when your eyes light up, and your dimples shine(when talking about staying on your meds). I started Wellbutrin about 10 yrs ago, I must have cleaned that damn oven 3x the first week.😆🤣😆
I am on seroquel, zyprexa, doxepin, trileptal, buspar, effexor and clonazepam. This combination has helped me so much. It took years to find a combo that worked for me.
Oh God, I thought I was the only one who takes a bunch of psychiatric medication. I have bipolar and Adhd I take 3 for bipolar (trileptal, abilify, prozac) and 3 for adhd (adderall, strattera, guafacine). I'm glad your medication really helps you ❤️.
Be careful with Adderall. My sone switched from rittalin to adderall when he was 18 and had a schizophrenic break and he's been f'd up ever since. 3 weeks...broke his brain forever.
it truly amazes me that its the most intelligent insightful peeps that deal with these kind of things.. theres many of us out there.. sad part is most of us internalize everything and tend not to talk openly about the issue.. thanks for the vids kit it does help
I'm so happy that you have all these medications to help you in various ways! I also love how this video normalizes needing to take multiple meds, which can be a source of shame or embarrassment for a lot of people. So thank you for making it :) It was interesting to hear about how some of the meds you take were to help with side effects of others, like Ambien to help with the sleep-related side effects of Lamotrigine, or Benztropine to help with the hand tremors from Zyprexa. It sounds like such a difficult balance to manage both your symptoms and the side effects from the meds you take to treat them, and it's great that you've found that. It was also really cool to learn that Zofran kills two birds with one stone by helping with both nausea and OCD... that works out super conveniently! When you said you could pry Zyprexa and NAC out of your cold dead hands, I immediately thought "that's me with testosterone" LOL. I have that same kind of extreme gratitude for testosterone that you described for your meds, because it's done so much good for me mentally as well as physically. It really is amazing what the right meds can do to improve your life. Thanks again for making and sharing this video, I learned a lot!
Heck yeah for testosterone! I’m so glad you have a med that brings you so much joy!!! And as for the shame, there was a movement a while back by someone on the My Favorite Murder podcast who shared what meds they took for depression, and it started a whole movement where people took a pic of their meds (tagging it with #myfavoritemeds lol) and that got ME thinking, “what if I shared mine?” Even though I found out about the trend much later. I used to be ashamed of my own, I mean its a lot of pills, but part of me sharing them is helping ME accept that I too should not be ashamed! This channel goes both ways, because people like you help me too
I take for my schizoaffective disorder zyprexa at 20mg. I am about to start taking metformin for the side effects of the zyprexa causing with weight gain. I’m kinda reluctant to start a new medication though. I agree with you on the zyprexa and “ taking it from my dead fingers !” I thought after 6 years of not being in psychiatric hospital I was cured and this past fall I went off my antipsychotic (zyprexa) medication for over two months and sure enough I ended up in a psychiatric ward. It was real scary but I learned something and that was I need medication. I also realized I have a very serious mental illness and I need to make sure I keep doing what is working. Like I said with medication I was free from hospital for over 6 years. My new strategy for my health is to recognize I need to see my mortality and I can easily go back to a psychotic state. So keep doing what works ! God bless
Lamictal, seroquel, lexapro, Wellbutrin, bursar, depkote, adderall, lorazepam, Ativan, Valium… (pretty sure that’s the lot) I take morning and night… I also have schizoaffective disorder, severe ocd, agoraphobia/ general anxiety, and ADHD (I also take 4 different supplements)… all my meds are super high doses (like 800mg of seroquel a night) to the point that I start to show intense symptoms if I miss just one dose. Nice to see someone else on a crazy cocktail that works for them…🍸 💊 cheers!
Wow , you are on quite a lot of meds but if its working for you , then its great.I was also diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder a few years ago and finding the right meds at the right dosage , was quite a tiresome journey for me.I currently take Fluoxetine and olanzapine.Have you also struggled with weight issues , caused by the meds you are taking? Thanks for being so open about your condition and in the process , spreading awareness about schizoaffective disorder. Most people , unfortunately only have a stereotypical idea of this particular condition.Looking forward to watching your next videos.Wishing you all the best for the future.
So, weight gain on antipsychotics is considered a side effect, which means, by definition, not everyone will get it. For me I am one of those people and I consider myself fortunate. I know Lauren from Living Well with Schizophrenia has several videos about weight gain on antipsychotics, so go check out her channel or do a quick search, and that should help you! Sorry I can’t do more, hang in there.
Hi there, I have bipolar II disorder. I take quetiapine and lamotrigine and I'm also one of those people who've been fortunate not to experience weight gain from my antipsychotic. As she suggested below, here are the links to videos by Lauren on her experience with weight gain and a conversation with a psychiatrist on the same How I Manage Weight Gain on Antipsychotic Medication ua-cam.com/video/pBqzbEjkgyA/v-deo.html Why Do Antipsychotics Make You Gain Weight? www.youtube.com/@LivingWellwithSchizophrenia/search?query=weight%20gain I hope that helps. I'm absolutely rooting for you.
Was diagnosed as having major depression with GAD for, literally, 30 years. Three weeks ago, at the advice of my therapist who was so attentitve that she was picking up on what could be hypomanic episodes, I saw a new doc. His questions led me to consider entirely different things than I'm used to considering, and it really seemed much more clear: bipolar 2, C-PTSD, and some anxiety stuff. This has completely blown my mind at age 51. I thought I knew why all this happened, but I can so clearly see instances where I was driven, completely unknowing, by this disorder. So, yeah, the whole med treatment is different, and I hate taking handfuls of pills, but maybe if my new treatments work better, I can get more off the anti-depressants.
@@tylerogrady8194 the best way to avoid that is to only take it when you really really need it. For me it’s a last resort, and my doc doesn’t give me enough to take every day, so I couldn’t exactly… become addicted even if I wanted to. Hope this helps!
@@SchizoKitzo Got you, I usually take 2 1mg a day some days less. Like When I'm at work or at a party with my friends. However my anxiety triggers my psychosis and that is scary for me. So I may break 1 in half. Thank you again for the feedback!
I’ve taken every single one of those except ambien, meds are a struggle right now, because of both paranoia associated with medication and breast-feeding. I’m extremely sensitive to chemicals and currently I’m only on a little bit of Seroquel and a benzodiazepine occasionally. I was just officially diagnosed with schizoaffective, and I’m trying to figure it out. Glad to have all the diagnosis given over the years narrowed down to just that and PTSD. Of course, I turned to UA-cam to learn more. 😂 i’ve been on about a total of 40 different medications and most of them haven’t worked for me. I’m always curious if mental illness is really mental illness which is probably my mental illness. Thanks for the video.
I also have schizoaffective disorder. I also have medical problems that I take medicine for. For me, the only medicines that help with my psychosis are Zyprexa and Seroquil. I told a doctor that, and he said he wasn't surprised because both are chemically similar.
"Better living through chemistry." I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD and PTSD. I take Lorazepam during the day, Clonazepam at night if I need to (I often need it), the maximum dose of Duloxetene (an anti-depressant), and two meds to help me sleep (Dioxin and Quetiapine). The funny thing about Ambien is that my wife got prescribed a month's worth and didn't want to take them, so I did. They worked wonderfully to knock me out at the start of the month and didn't work at all by the end of the month. Unfortunately this seems to be a pattern with me and sleep meds. And if I'm worried about something, I'm going to have insomnia no matter what I take. So it goes. Love your videos.
You are diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, right? I was diagnosed 15 years ago. I didn't accept help (meds) until 5 years ago. I still struggle so much. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and hopefully for taking the time to reply.
I have depression, anxiety, Borderline personality disorder, and ADHD traits right now, and I'm currently taking Cymbalta, Klonopin and Wellbutrin. When I was 31 years old I spent almost a month in the psychiatric ward of Saint Dominics hospital where they diagnosed me with BPD, and OCD in attention to my depression and anxiety. I came out of the hospital on five different medications which were Celexa, Klonopin, Depakote, Ambien and Seroquil. I had some hallucinations similar to an LDS trip after I found out my husband was cheating on me, and in love with the other woman. For several months after I would see what I called faerie lights in the dark, it wasn't scary. Nowadays people act like infidelity is nothing, but my husband's cheating caused me to have a psychotic break.
I take flouxitine to treat my depression and resperidone to treat my schizophrenic bipolar 1 disorder. The medications have definitely helped me not fall into major manic episodes and have kept me out of the hospitals. I've been to atleast 7 psych hospitals and I still hear voices and see things but I'm so grateful that it's been less intense
I’m also on lamictal for my mood disorder!!! I have schizophrenia amongst other mental illnesses it’s so nice to meet other people who also need meds to get through from day to day!!
I’m on just Zyprexa, Depakote, Klonapine, and Paxil. We got lucky with my first batch of meds. Plus the Paxil helped with not only my anxiety but also some of my depressive symptoms. It improved my quality of life ❤
May you always be protected. I'm sorry for your suffering. It's really sad. I hope one day you are free from all your suffering. And hopefully away from psychiatric medication.
I’m glad to hear that someone else is grateful for their medication. I was so happy when I started on Zyprexa and the way it made me feel well. I wanted to send a big thank you card to the makers of it. Lamictal is a godsend also. Ambien was a scary drug for me. I would eat in the middle of the night and find the ice cream containers in the trash the next day. I would write emails to people during the night and not remember what I wrote. I was terrified if I wrote something embarrassing. Luckily I never did. My dad takes ambien and is fine with it. I will start taking the supplements you suggested. I’ve heard that they are good.
Ambien sometimes has me doing funny things, but nothing too crazy! I wrote and odd poem once that I swear made sense when I wrote it 😂 And I’m glad I’m not the only one crazy grateful for zyprexa!
I have schizoaffective disorder too,i take 400mg Amuslpride in the morning 400mg Amsulpride at night with 5mg olanzpine and fish olis and vitamin b and c.loving your video's great content.very informative video..❤❤❤🎉❤🎉🎉🎉Love ya Tasha.❤❤🎉🎉😅
im on my second antipsychotic shot, ive been having a lot of side effects of headaches, dizziness, and rashes. my psych said to take benadryl for the rashes and go to urgent care if the headaches worsen. ive been on olanzapine but i gained wayy too much weight on it and i hated that. ive taken 4 other medications other than olanzapine and theyve all given me side effects but the main side effect was drowsiness, my mg level for medications is really high so the meds make me very sleepy and i wasnt able to have a normal life. so thats why i tried out the shot.if the side effects for the shot continue im just gonna go onto trying another medicine. subscribed to you because i love seeing schizo affected people thrive and make it through.
olanzapine and zolpidem - these help a lot , but I still hear a girl screaming in my head sometimes. Living in the UK its really hard to see a psychiatrist (NHS) on a frequent cycle. SO probably need something else to stop the screaming.
I'm bipolar type 1 and I've tried a whole bunch of antipsychotics. - Risperdal: no libido - Abilify: libido but akathisia, which is the inability to stand still, was clearly the worst side effect ever, I couldn't stop walking. - Amisulpride: no libido - and now Zyprexa, and clearly the best for me. food seems so much better on this medication so I have to be careful not to gain too much weight. Also I have the same problem as you with hand tremors. For me it tend to get worse in stressful situations. Pretty annoying
@@SchizoKitzo Hey, Kit: I know it's not your mission to make a living off UA-cam but is there some way your grateful fans can help you spread knowledge and fight stigma?
Ahh… meds. I was initially diagnosed with depression, as that was the most obvious. Prozac and Celexa both had libido side effects that weren’t compatible with my marriage. I was moved to Wellbutrin, until the manic episodes became so evident. At that point Depakote and Klonipin entered my life. About ten years ago, I fond the meds just weren’t working as well, so my psych added Seroquel which was an amazing addition. I feel so much more steady. My bipolar is type 2, with long gradual highs (writing 3 months of lesson plans in a week, writing novels, revamping my grade book) alternating with shorter periods of lethargy: not wanting to do anything. Some of the lows have been really low, but those times were 1999, 2001, and 2013… medication adjustments corrected things.
Thankyou for the courage to speak about something sensitive, it takes a great deal of courage to share. Now, I'm taking some medicine too for schizo type related disorder and low emotion.
Lithium helped me a ton. I had intrusive thoughts, would spend all day thinking about one specific bad thing. When I first started taking it, it felt kinda like my emotions were wrapped in cotton balls. I don't notice it now, but the thoughts are still gone.
I'm new to your channel and the timing is perfect,,, I do well with being schizo,,, I do refrain from telling my therapist and psychiatrist everything. That's why the timing is perfect for me. I feel like I'm gonna throw up. I appreciate your work, thank you❤
Thank you for this post. My sister was thought to be BiPolar but she actually have Schizoaffective Disorder. It has been so hard for her because she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer and the combination between her medications cause her to fall sick all the time. She is constantly hospitalized for her mental illness but as a family where to find resources for her.
Honestly I might not always understand how a medication works as long as they work, so you are not alone when it comes to the medication working and not knowing how it works. Also, I would be grateful for any and all medications that are helpful to me.
I'm on Olanzapin and Abilify, I struggled with some side effects at the beginning but they went away, so I'm quite lucky. Also love your channel, I'm binging your videos while cleaning. So, thank you kit.
I take desvenlafaxine, trazodone, clomipramine, aripiprazole, clonazepam and alprazolam, but my doctor is still testing those meds on me. I was showing psychotic symptoms such as short delusions and both auditory and visual hallucinations, as well as having hypomanic episodes every other day. I also have OCD, depression and Tourette's
I'm on Wellbutrin, Abilify, Vistaril and Haldol as my dailies. I also take a CBD gummy as a supplement, which I've discovered increases the anti-anxiety effect of the vistaril. I'm glad I'm not a walking pharmacy but I do have sympathy for those who are because it becomes more and more difficult to function as well as you do with each additional medicine that's added.
Remeron, Seroquel and a clonazepam (very PRN hardly ever take clonazepam). Anxiety / depression and ptsd and a sleep disorder. I take Methimazole for my Graves Disease
I used to take 14 different meds a day, I tried prozac but I ended up smashing the house up! I have had amitrypteline and beta blockers that I can't remember the name of.. anyway, now take sertraline which is an antidepressant, quetiapine that's an antipsychotic, levothyroxine for an underactive thyroid gland Valproic Acid which is a mood stabiliser. I also take meds for Gastroparesis/haitus hernia and strong pain medication 💊 which is prescription only for scoliosis, sciatica, and I now also have osteoporosis; I have pain all over my body, several old fractures in my spine, awful 😖 😱 headaches, I walk with a wheeled walker as I am unsteady on my feet, have a partly adapted ground floor flat and I am only 55! Still, I know that there are a lot of people out there that are worse off than me. xx
I was diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder when I was 37 and now also have mixed personality disorder, ocd, social anxiety disorder..; but my meds keep me almost on an even keel.
I take fluoxetine and olanzapine (zyprexa) every day and benzodiazepine when needed. I’m diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia but I think I might have bipolar too because even on the zyprexa, I still experience like hypomania from time to time. But I’m satisfied with my meds, except for the weight gain thing. I also take CBD oil 5% few drops a day, it really helps me a lot with my anxiety especially and it sort of grounds me.
Thanks for sharing what works for you! I’ve tried CBD and found that it has helped, but I only do it as needed, and I’ve heard it works really well from others too. Kinda wild how helpful it can be.
That was really educational. Myself and a person I care for both have schizotypal and BD1 with psychotic features. I love that you’re normalizing that some people live with the more severe mental illness every day, even seemingly normal lives or at least not dangerous or violent. You know it’s notable to me that you take zofran because I just feel like I’m getting “hooked” on otc Dramamine for nausea. I can get a script, I wonder which one is cheaper in the long term though insurance. Okay person A: Pristiq, Lamictal, Propranolol, Pregablin and Xanax, Spravato Person B: Zyprexa, Wellbutrin, Riluzole, Hydroxizine Thanks for sharing so many details of what and why. With person A (me) being a caretaker for person B we make a lot of trips to the psychiatrist and pharmacy.
thank you for uploading this. I have skitzoaffective disorder and its a struggle because im only on one medication which is a monthly invega shot which slows me down tbh. I want to talk to a psychiatrist about getting back on seroquil and prestique, maybe attivan too. I was doing my best whenever i was taking seroquil and prestique.
Latuda and Lamotrigine gave me narcolepsy. I would sleep on and off, but only be in REM sleep, I never went into restorative sleep. And a night's sleep was 3 hours. I lived life exhausted but hyper. The medication made me hyper, too.
I was just diagnosed with schizoaffective bipolar (depressive). I was in the ER for a week and then a psych ward for another week. I’ve been experiencing delusions and hallucinations for four years now. They put me on Latuda and it seems to be helping the bipolar side of things. But I still have some delusions (quieter, but still there). I’m worried I may need something more and this video helped. So thank you.
Hi. I am diagnosed with schizoaffective bipolar type. I ve been on abilify Prozac and depakote for many years. I’m doing ok but not finding work atm. I feel I must ?? have language communication problems. I speak too slowly or too fast for people? Lack of insight into that. I’m impressed with the way you speak and your clarity. Good job!
❤thank you for sharing your history my diagnosis is what your been diagnosed with I have had experiences where I've felt like I've had LSD and it's lasted for a month I feel like when I'm well everything's good but then when things events ideas and imaginations theories occur in regards to those around me and actions beyond which is even considered a reality if happening or not. My belief is that sin plays a huge part in my illness and that people cause events to take place to take advantage of my good nature and use my diagnosis against me laughing about it like I am stupid or foolish and I have to prove it so I'm in the situation where I'm thinking people lie and use what you say in conversation as a means to try to mess with your head I'm surrounded by kleptos that take things at random and then either gift things back to me that they have stolen or are blatantly rubbing my nose in the stuff that they have taken by parading it in front me claiming it to be theirs. Now that's fine I'm okay that they may have needed the items but to tell them that it's looking familiar and then to see their smirks is quiet absurd to even think persons closet to me have the Audasity to wait for my reaction which is usually shrugged off and then just makes me believe that I'm not imagining this as this is actually happening my God knows that I'm his and that people do things to hurt others for kicks and pranks But to tell you the truth I have no problem it's them that the problem and if I just ignore it Karma comes to them too I'm on clipixol injection fortnightly and my health care providers are just as slanderous about my character and how I believe in God and that I hear the holy spirits impressions in my spirit and that I have a hard time dealing with addiction which is sin I'm only sharing with you my issues I deal with which is Life and with medication I'm still going to keep the faith. I know jesus is real and he has my hand I'm expecting him
They were going to put me on lithium for bipolar type 1 psychosis but In the end i said no as near every single person in the lithium clinic section and in my support group all had their kidneys wrecked by it long term. So i am on serequel XR at moment and about to be put on Abilify instead of lithium as apparently that is starting to be seen in the UK as an alternative to lithium. Thank you for these videos as they really help.
I'm allergic to fish, so i take flaxseed oil. I get sick very easily, so i take a multivitamin and an immunity supplement. I am an OCD cleaner, too. I also take pro/preotics, and elderberry syrup.
I also take Olanzapine 5mg once every 24 hours. Although it has really helped me with my previous depression and schizophrenia, I think it's not enough because I'm recently finding myself more depressed
Hey Kit! I take Abilify Maintena, Buspar, Latuda, cogentin, and Cymbalta. I was having SI and we tried lithium but the side effects were too distressing for me, plus I am already diabetic and my kidneys are in poor condition. Thanks so much for sharing!!
I take olanzapine, lamictal and hydroxyzine. The lamictal treats the bipolar side of the schizoaffective bipolar type. Olanzapine helps keep the visuals and auditory hallucinations down (schizo side) and hydroxyzine is an antihistamine that treats my anxiety
yes for olanzapine and lamictal!!! I made this video a while ago but that is still the combo that works the best for me!!! I tried vistaril once but it didn’t do much (they gave it to me when I was in a psych ward since I couldn’t have my Ativan) but I’m so glad it works for you! Thanks for sharing :)
Great video! I was diagnosed with similar issues and couldn't take Zyprexa and similar other anti psychotics because they give me unmanageable side effects. I'm surprised how well people do with Ambien, it either does nothing or barely works for me. I've tried so many medications at this point, I'm hoping I find some that will make a difference now..
I have noticed that Ambien can be a hit or miss for some people. You’re not the only one I’ve heard of where it just doesn’t work very well. And I hope you find a combo that works, I’ve also been through the trial and error and it’s stressful. You got this!
Hi Kit!! Thank you for sharing this info! My LO tried respiradon, abilify and zyprexa before clozapine. Out of the first 3, Zyprexa was the best and got him some relief but it didn't take him out of psychosis even at 24mg. He also got dysphagia. With clozapine, he responded at a low dosage and he handles a constipation as a side effect. He takes docusate sodium in the am (stool softener). Clozapine is highly sedating too but it got better when the dosage is splitted 3x a day, instead of 2x. He got many pounds extra. The doctor pondered clozapine is protective against catatonia and that weights down in her decision. This all happened 9mos ago, he's only 16yo, diagnosed with schizophrenia. Supplements: fish oil 2 capsules, focus (mineral supplement for the brain) 2 capsules. PRN: ATivan There have been bad and good days...but grateful is the best word, we relate with you, we are SO grateful! in Jan, he will work on slowly coming back to a school, and after a short visit, we've been noticing him more symptomatic. Did you experience this as well? How was your transition back to your academic life?
So for me in terms of academia, I never took time off from school. I had professors who postponed tests and assignments for me (I once re scheduled an exam THREE TIMES), but I never took a break even though I should have. But because school was stressful (I was pre-med and wanting to do medical school, so it was a lot of hard science classes) I was always in somewhat of a bipolar mood episode. I found that I would have a cycle in the middle and end of every semester, and it was very difficult. I’m not sure how I graduated college, honestly. But after college when i had my psychotic break in NYC, I realized that I was never going to go back to school until I was really really stable and in remission because school was so stressful for me. I renewed my EMT certification this last year and that tipped off a mini mood episode. So navigating studies with a condition that is largely triggered by stress (I know in my case) is delicate. However, with the right meds and the right therapy and the right support system, it is possible. Accommodations might be needed, but I think you’d be surprised at how much teachers are willing to help. I know I mentioned a lot about college, but it was in college where things got really bad. In high school I had nearly straight As, but SZA took that away from me real quick in college. That’s my story. Hang in there. Life is a case by case basis, and it might take patience and a lot of work, but recovery and a wonderful, beautiful life, is possible. Schizophrenia isn’t a death sentence. Hang in there
Zyprexa was amazing for me too but I got the tremors too I got bullied real bad in highschool for it so I stopped taking it. One of my biggest regrets smh 😔
So I have a lot of different conditions. For specifically mental health I take risperdal (just upped to 3 mg) and trileptal (600 mg) for my bipolar type one and manic symptoms which work really well. I also take the risperdal to help with flashbacks that I get from my complex PTSD and they help somewhat but I still get flashbacks. I'm thinking I'll just have to rely on skills I learn in therapy to deal with them and do my best to prevent them by keeping my mind occupied especially at work which is when a lot of my flashbacks occur. I also take prazosin at night for my flashbacks as well. Prazosin is one of my favorite drugs so far. I'm currently on 5mg but plan to up to 7mg later in the month when my insurance decides they want to fill it (thank you insurance. Lol.) I also take 150 mg of wellbutrin in the morning which serves to treat both my ADHD as well as the depressive side of my bipolar. I'm considering going back on N-Acetyl-Cysteine too since my old doctor recommended it to me when I was still seeing her. I take 3 other medications for other things not mental health related. I'm grateful that my bipolar for the most part is pretty well managed. I usually only have 1 manic episode per year and that typically isn't that intense since the meds help with that. And when it happens I just text my NP and she temporarily ups my dose for a little while until the episode is over. I do have another mental health condition that isn't treatable with any medication so I just have to do my best to live with that. I'm also autistic (ASD) and apparently risperdal can help with that too. Took a second to get on the right medication but glad I'm for the most part on the right meds now.
My sister & her group friends only talked about their prescriptions. Nothing else. She was so drugged, she barely functioned. I hope better Treatments come along soon.
I have schizoaffective depressive type. Lord knows I’ve been on everything over the last 35 years. Currently I take Invega ( paliperidone) for psychosis, cymbalta (duloxetine) for depression along with pamelor ( nortriptyline) and Wellbutrin ( bupropion) for depression also. For anxiety I take klonopin ( clonazepam) a benzodiazepine. And finally an anticholinergic called Artane (trihexylphenidine) to counter side effects of the antipsychotic Invega. I am not doing as well as you are Kit but I’m ok. I’m hoping for better meds in the future!! I was on ambien for 12 years but it actually stopped working so no longer on that one. Thanks for sharing what worked for you.
“Doing well” is relative and I’m sure you’re doing your best, and that’s all you can ask for! Thanks for sharing your meds, and I too hope for better meds, and maybe some that we actually can learn how they work… glad you have a cocktail that helps! Stay strong, you got this!
@@IlikeTurtles316 I tried other things like lunesta and restoril but nothing was helping. I finally stopped taking all sleep meds and my body finally after a couple months of insomnia started getting used to sleeping naturally. Now I rarely have insomnia anymore
Are there any of those online therapy places that are willing to prescribe anti-anxiety meds like diazepam? I've had real bad anxiety most of my life that started right when I developed a systemic degenerative illness. I'm also needing something like that as I have bulging discs going into my spinal cord and went nearly completely paralyzed many years ago. A doc did give me one a while back for a new MRI of my spine. And it actually helped to where I got through without issue, I'd say it was like I was drunk. A disc herniated several years ago and the pain was like having a knife in my back. And I had to use a cane to press the foot pedals and drove from doctor to doctor for a week and no one would do anything. Had to spend a week laying in parking lots as I couldn't sit up in my car, but I'd describe the experience like if you were having a major stroke. I was so paralyzed that I had to urinate in the parking lot. I also had lost the ability to eat food and went 10 days without food. I remember on day 7 without food or sleep I was in my 4th ER visit begging for a feeding tube and the ER techs just laughed and told me to go somewhere else as I told them I was starving to death. But after day 10, the squirting sounds in my back stopped and I eventually regained the ability to eat food and regained most of my strength. Though I have severe tremors. It's like being electrocuted all the time and it's gotten worse over time. Some days it's like my body is trying to tear itself apart. But I need to calm my nerves down. It also my help my severe tinnitus. Which I get to listen to horrible noises all the time like hearing my heart beat constantly. A few years ago I accidentally picked up something heavy and starting losing the ability to move my legs again. and it kept getting worse and worse to where my left leg was dragging on the ground and some doctor at a hospital over the phone acted like it wasn't real and tried telling me there was nothing wrong with my spine even though I argued with them that my MRI shows a fractured vertebra and multiple bulging discs going into my spinal cord with collapsed discs. My legs go to 75% paralyzed. I was rapidly losing the ability to manipulate my lower extremities. Death was imminent. And so I went out in the garage and grabbed the garage door rails and dropped my body hard and hanged there. With the plan of dropping my body hard my pull the bulging discs back off my spine. And I did that every 15 minutes and after a week I was able to get my left leg to stop dragging on the ground and reduced my paralysis by 50%. I need a day off. Hopefully I could get enough where I can take every other day off. And too my muscles buzzing constantly makes them weak. I don't think anyone local is going to do anything as they never have. I've had severe anxiety my entire life and the only thing they've ever done is give me SSRI's, which I can't take as they give me restless leg syndrome and actually make my anxiety worse. So the local therapists would say "That's the only thing I can give you. Oh well".
I have schizoaffective disorder and I take depakote, risperidone, gabapentin, and hydroxyzine. My dr. Just raised the dosage of the risperidone because I'm still hearing voices.
i have schizoaffective bipolar type and i take vraylar, ambien, klonopin, adderall, and ingrezza. oh, and cymbalta. i developed tardive dyskinesia which is why i take the ingrezza - which is more common than relating it to parkinson’s so i found that part interesting. TD is a movement disorder caused by antipsychotics.
I'm diagnosed with OCD and GAD and I take fluoxetine (prozac) and lorazepam as needed. Prozac also helped me stop binge eating. I agree that lorazepam is extremely helpful with severe anxiety attacks. I take prozac but can I take NAC with prozac?
interesting hearing about the drug induced Parkinsonism~ i had that when i was on geodon in my 20s~ hearing about these med cocktails brings back a lot of memories, i admire your courage sharing this, im sure it helps a lot of people 🙏 do you ever have akathisia, i hope not. i think the geodon made my brain press against my skull in some weird way that caused it. closest experience of hell for me 🙏
I have a Borderline Personality, depression with psychotic features, and PTSD. I take: -Effexor -Buspirone -Hydroxizine -Melatonin -And probably starting a low dose of Abilify/Latuda soon.
I'm just diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. I am on latuda 80mg and it's been helping. I'm bipolar type. I just got effexor xr today so hopefully it will help with my bipolar depression and general anxiety disorder. Then i will work on my ocd and adhd.
I take lamotrigine too and have found it amazing. I’m on both venlafaxine and duloxetine but coming off venlafaxine, I was just at the maximum dose so had to cross taper. Quietapine daily dose and I can take more as needed. Diazepam as needed.
Thank you for doing this. This was EXTREMELY helpful. Can you please drop a recommendation for you provider? We are struggling to find providers competent in this area. Also, have you tried any of the cognitive behavioral treatments from the Hearing Voices Network? I care for a relative with schizoaffective disorder. I've been doing it alone for a quite a while. We've gone from using most of the medications you listed to none at all, though I'm only partially in control of that since the relative is an adult. Yet they are functioning well (enough). I need a provider competent enough fall back if this drug free approach hist a rough spot. Thanks.
Ik im late but there’s a channel called living well with schizophrenia and it’s an amazing channel! ❤
@nelsonteixeira1651 what do you mean that Haldol eats you alive inside? Can you tell me more?

Try the medical ketogenic diet. It works. Look up Matt Baszucki, he had Bipolar disorder.
God bless you sweetheart your doing great.
@FredCarpenter-pb6bdthank you for saying this. it is soooo expensive and ppl don’t seem to talk about it
hang in there! ive been 5150d 5 times in less than 7 years but these last 2 years ive recovered a lot and am doing much better working with my psychiatrist and always on meds.
I hope the best for him, and that the channel helps. Thank you!
Respect. We love your channel because you are authentic!
I have schizoaffective depressive type, I'm currently only taking abilify(aripiprazole) and fluoxatine. Thanks for making this videos, such a relief knowing that I'm not alone
Never ever alone. I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
I am on abilify & fluoxetine
So have depressive type. Have both those meds plus more.
I take:
-Sertraline
-Aripiprazole
-Clonazapam
-Propranolol
-Diazepam
-Melatonin
-Buspirone
I wish anyone who’s reading a happy and healthy mindset. Thanks for reading 💖
Ask doctor to remove Aripiprazole, buspirone, diazepam and melatonin.
He need to add Duloxetine.
If he is not agree, change doctor.

Damn your candidness is pretty amazing

Awwww thanks for commenting! Glad you’ve got a regimen that works for you too!
Latuda is the best I’ve ever used!
I have the same diagnosis as you. I only take 10 mg zyprexa, lexapro, and propranolol. Lately I've been very depressed and isolated. People admire my ability to live alone but I don't think that makes it a good thing.
Living situations are different for everyone, and life is a case by case basis ya know? Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing your story. You are giving the unheard a voice and that is super important in our world. Keep up the great work!
God I wish I had your doctor 😢
Oh God, I thought I was the only one who takes a bunch of psychiatric medication. I have bipolar and Adhd I take 3 for bipolar (trileptal, abilify, prozac) and 3 for adhd (adderall, strattera, guafacine). I'm glad your medication really helps you ❤️.
Right back at ya!
People need to be on 3 types of medication just for adhd?
Be careful with Adderall. My sone switched from rittalin to adderall when he was 18 and had a schizophrenic break and he's been f'd up ever since. 3 weeks...broke his brain forever.
it truly amazes me that its the most intelligent insightful peeps that deal with these kind of things..
theres many of us out there.. sad part is most of us internalize everything and tend not to talk openly about the issue..
thanks for the vids kit it does help
You're very knowledgeable, very nice to listen to.
Glad to hear it! Thank you!
I'm so happy that you have all these medications to help you in various ways! I also love how this video normalizes needing to take multiple meds, which can be a source of shame or embarrassment for a lot of people. So thank you for making it :)
It was interesting to hear about how some of the meds you take were to help with side effects of others, like Ambien to help with the sleep-related side effects of Lamotrigine, or Benztropine to help with the hand tremors from Zyprexa.
This channel goes both ways, because people like you help me too
I have schizophrenia and depression. I take a few meds like Invega Sustenna and prolixin. Works great for me too!! Thanks for sharing!
WHoo!

I hope that helps.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and hopefully for taking the time to reply.
thank u for these videos, i am struggling but these types of videos help me put words to how i am feeling, i very much appreciate that
I have depression, anxiety, Borderline personality disorder, and ADHD traits right now, and I'm currently taking Cymbalta, Klonopin and Wellbutrin.
Hi Kit! Nice video! I take quetiapine, zolpidem, fish oil, vitaminc and cocp’s. These are my medications for now.
Whoo! I’m glad it works for you!
I also take Vitamin D everyday because I am chronically low on it.
Ambien sometimes has me doing funny things, but nothing too crazy! I wrote and odd poem once that I swear made sense when I wrote it 😂
And I’m glad I’m not the only one crazy grateful for zyprexa!
Now you are fine
im on my second antipsychotic shot, ive been having a lot of side effects of headaches, dizziness, and rashes. my psych said to take benadryl for the rashes and go to urgent care if the headaches worsen. ive been on olanzapine but i gained wayy too much weight on it and i hated that. ive taken 4 other medications other than olanzapine and theyve all given me side effects but the main side effect was drowsiness, my mg level for medications is really high so the meds make me very sleepy and i wasnt able to have a normal life. so thats why i tried out the shot.if the side effects for the shot continue im just gonna go onto trying another medicine. subscribed to you because i love seeing schizo affected people thrive and make it through.
olanzapine and zolpidem - these help a lot , but I still hear a girl screaming in my head sometimes. Living in the UK its really hard to see a psychiatrist (NHS) on a frequent cycle. SO probably need something else to stop the screaming.
Thank you very much for sharing! I am excited to try Fish Oil and NAC. Love to you!! 🙏💖
I'm bipolar type 1 and I've tried a whole bunch of antipsychotics.
- Risperdal: no libido
- Abilify: libido but akathisia, which is the inability to stand still, was clearly the worst side effect ever, I couldn't stop walking.
- Amisulpride: no libido
- and now Zyprexa, and clearly the best for me. food seems so much better on this medication so I have to be careful not to gain too much weight. Also I have the same problem as you with hand tremors. For me it tend to get worse in stressful situations. Pretty annoying
Thanks for normalizing having to take a bunch of different meds. Treatment is as complex as the disorder(s). You do what you have to.
Exactly! Thanks so much!
@@SchizoKitzo Hey, Kit: I know it's not your mission to make a living off UA-cam but is there some way your grateful fans can help you spread knowledge and fight stigma?
@@KevDiver just share the videos with whoever you think needs them :)
I hope your meds help! Meds are great when they’re done right
Lithium helped me a ton.
As also someone with Schizoeffective disorder, I'm on Paliperidone (9mg), Duloxetine (60mg), and Mirtazapine (30mg).
I don’t take any medication. Seems I have it much better than most. I keep myself burried in work and ignore anything else. This works for me
I'm on Wellbutrin, Abilify, Vistaril and Haldol as my dailies.
Thank you so much for sharing everything here. You existence and life experience matters.
Okay person A:
Pristiq, Lamictal, Propranolol, Pregablin and Xanax, Spravato
Person B: Zyprexa, Wellbutrin, Riluzole, Hydroxizine
Thanks for sharing so many details of what and why. With person A (me) being a caretaker for person B we make a lot of trips to the psychiatrist and pharmacy.
Great video! You look amazing! ❤❤
Awww thanks! Glad you liked it!
thank you for uploading this.
Glad I could help, best of luck on your journey, diagnosis is not the end. And you’re not alone
Thank you for sharing we have a family member who just got diagnosed, we are learning about this sickness and again thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your channel!
^_^
Good job!
Thank you!
Hey. You're not alone!
My belief is that sin plays a huge part in my illness and that people cause events to take place to take advantage of my good nature and use my diagnosis against me laughing about it like I am stupid or foolish and I have to prove it so I'm in the situation where I'm thinking people lie and use what you say in conversation as a means to try to mess with your head
I'm surrounded by kleptos that take things at random and then either gift things back to me that they have stolen or are blatantly rubbing my nose in the stuff that they have taken by parading it in front me claiming it to be theirs.
Now that's fine I'm okay that they may have needed the items but to tell them that it's looking familiar and then to see their smirks is quiet absurd to even think persons closet to me have the Audasity to wait for my reaction which is usually shrugged off and then just makes me believe that I'm not imagining this as this is actually happening my God knows that I'm his and that people do things to hurt others for kicks and pranks
But to tell you the truth I have no problem it's them that the problem and if I just ignore it
Karma comes to them too
I'm on clipixol injection fortnightly and my health care providers are just as slanderous about my character and how I believe in God and that I hear the holy spirits impressions in my spirit and that I have a hard time dealing with addiction which is sin
I'm only sharing with you my issues I deal with which is Life and with medication I'm still going to keep the faith. I know jesus is real and he has my hand I'm expecting him
I'm skitzoaffective bi poler 2 with mixed mania...thx for sharing. u rock lady...😜
I have schizoaffective disorder too. Bipolar type. I’m on Cyamemazine, Quetiapine, and Paroxetine
My notifications are wonky so I didn't realize the reply but thank you, right back at cha! Looking forward to seeing more of your content. :D
PRN: ATivan
There have been bad and good days...but grateful is the best word, we relate with you, we are SO grateful! in Jan, he will work on slowly coming back to a school, and after a short visit, we've been noticing him more symptomatic.
Very interesting about the fish oil. Could you share the dosage please? Wish you good luck 🙂
If youre interested, talk to your doctor :)
Lol.)
I also take 150 mg of wellbutrin in the morning which serves to treat both my ADHD as well as the depressive side of my bipolar.
I take zyprexa, gabapentin, tegretol, Clonazepam, Belsomra ,and cogenten and trazodone
Hi Jeni, did you manage to find a medication to replace the Ambien? Keep up the great videos Kit!
@@IlikeTurtles316 I tried other things like lunesta and restoril but nothing was helping. I finally stopped taking all sleep meds and my body finally after a couple months of insomnia started getting used to sleeping naturally. Now I rarely have insomnia anymore
@@jeniroberts thank you for sharing. I'm glad you are able to sleep well without the sleep aids!
I take Zyprexa, Zoloft, Buspirone, Clonipin, and Vistaril. I have a feeling I'm missing one.....
I throw up from anxiety, too. It's horrible.
i have schizoaffective bipolar type and i take vraylar, ambien, klonopin, adderall, and ingrezza. oh, and cymbalta. i developed tardive dyskinesia which is why i take the ingrezza - which is more common than relating it to parkinson’s so i found that part interesting. TD is a movement disorder caused by antipsychotics.
I'm on Lamictal, Wellbutrin, Geodon, and Remeron.
I take:
-Effexor
-Buspirone
-Hydroxizine
-Melatonin
-And probably starting a low dose of Abilify/Latuda soon.
I'm just diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. I am on latuda 80mg and it's been helping. I'm bipolar type. I just got effexor xr today so hopefully it will help with my bipolar depression and general anxiety disorder. Then i will work on my ocd and adhd.
I'm on Seouquel, Fluxione, Busiprone and Abilify for Schzioaffective disorder-bi polar type. Thank you Kit for sharing.
Meagon
No prob!
I take lamotrigine too and have found it amazing. I’m on both venlafaxine and duloxetine but coming off venlafaxine, I was just at the maximum dose so had to cross taper. Quietapine daily dose and I can take more as needed. Diazepam as needed.
Glad you have a regimen that works!
Thanks.
