SchizoKitzo is project aimed at spreading awareness about psychotic disorders, specifically schizoaffective disorder. I talk about my experience with this condition, but also about the facts of various mental health topics through peer reviewed studies and other reliable sources.
A lot of what I talk about on this channel is uncomfortable, but SchizoKitzo is about making THAT which is uncomfortable, comfortable.
I felt that when I was diagnosed, I was alone. That even though 0.3% of the population has schizoaffective disorder (with another 2% making up schizophrenia and bipolar combined) I still felt isolated, even with the limited resources I DID have.
This channel WAS MADE to help people NOT feel alone and TO feel heard. It was made to give resources, but more importantly, insight into what having a serious psychotic disorder is really like.
So, will you join me in making the uncomfortable, comfortable? If so, subscribe to be a part of the journey.

So, I'm Depressed: A Raw Conversation About Schizoaffective Episodes
I’m in a depressed state in this video and this is the reality of my life with the bipolar type of schizoaffective disorder. This happens, and it’s okay. I’m okay. I promise lol. As of me posting this I am actually doing a lot better-a whole lot better!-but I still film and post these videos to show you what it’s like because I think they are important too. So, in this video I talk openly and candidly about my experience recently: how I’ve gotten close to hypomania (but not quite) in this go round and how I’m in a depressive state (that doesn’t quite meet criteria for major depression) during the filming of this video.
Life with schizoaffective disorder quite literally has its ups and downs.
At the end of it, this too shall pass.
Enjoy the video (or whatever you feel fits your experience watching content like this)!

Diagnosed Bipolar Goes to Lithium Spring
Переглядів 2,7 тис.21 день тому
I went to a lithium spring and tried the water! I have the bipolar type of schizoaffective disorder and lithium is one of the medications that I not only take but have a major curiosity in. So going to an actual lithium spring (with my dad) was the perfect day trip for my nerdy self. The spring this video is taken from is in North Carolina, but there are lithium springs all over the world. So j...
A Funny Thing that Happened in the Psych Ward | Tales from the Schiz

I ended up in a psychiatric hospital because of my schizoaffective disorder (bipolar type) in May of 2019. Lots of interesting things happened during the week I spent there, and this is one of those stories: a time that someone spun an elaborate tale (from the schiz) to skirt the rules. It’s not a long story, but it is a funny one. To me at least. Let me know if you agree! Enjoy the video :) AL...

I show that you can live a life beyond a serious mental illness. Because I truly believe you can. Enjoy th...

In this video, I talk about the compromises I’ve had to make for the sake of my mental stability. It’s far from an easy path, and you’ll see that by the end of this video. If you are n...

Переглядів 16 тис.2 місяці тому
KarXT, brand name Cobenfy, is the newest antipsychotic medication on the market and is a combination of xanomeline and trospium chloride. It uses a different mechanism of action than what we are used to, targeting muscarinic receptors instead of dopaminergic ones. So today, join me as I talk about how we think KarXT works, the studies that got us to where we are today, and then end on my opinio...

I'm OCD: Here's What That Means | My Life with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
It's really disheartening when you have a dream and a goal to achieve but then get striked, and that stops you from doing what you love. It's painful.. You may become numb, apathetic, depressed, fraustrated. With all that ungraceful bulk of a closed door, you'll have another wonderful one maybe open for you. May we know that the law of the universe is love through our sufferings..
Been mulling over mine lately too and starting to realise the seasonal stuff is both mental and physiological. Diet helps or can also hurt. Stability is maybe a myth at this point 😂
This channel is clean.. *poltergeist reference*
It's mainly dopamine. ‘My life with schizoaffective bipolar disorder’?? Buttsheet, you don't have schizophrenia, nor do you have depression. Don't believe the stupid doctors in this sheet. Don't take the wrong medication, it causes depression. You clearly have pure hypo and acute manic episodes, this is worrying but it doesn't have to cause pain, the wrong drugs cause depression. Stick to mood stabilisers such as sodium valproate or valproic acid for example, maybe your new doctor will let you try medical marijuana. I don't know anything about lithium. Stay away from risky debt. Invest a little, financial worries will make you depressed, get involved maybe in an energy transformation on a household scale. You also need to have a degree of some sort and not just for the money. Maybe a Spanish course? You look great, you articulate your thoughts clearly, you are not as sick as they say. You have a beautiful face. Diva Tarja Turunen / 3. It seems to me that your belief system about God is pretty messed up. I seriously doubt that The Creator would really treat people such bad as you think. I perfectly understand that the christian religion is quite offputting to you right now. But in my humble opinion it is caused by the misunderstanding of the true image of the God and that some people takes a part of biblical text out of the context. If we take all that was written in the bible and try to apply to today’s reality, we will be lead astray and misinformed. Anyway, I hope that one day you will get to know his true image and reconnect with him. By the way the being you’ve talked about (the one that helps you feel better) sound a bit to me like some ocultistic stuff (please be careful with that and try to avoid any ocultistic things like tarot or talking to your subconscious mind in a lucid dream (trust me, it’s not the subconscious mind you will be taking to but some sinister being most likely (please don’t get fooled by it’s initial good intentions and please remember, (not everybody knows this and a lot of people neglect this but) there could be something like hidden demonic posession when you just don’t see symptoms unless you try to reconnect with God (symptoms of posession may start to appear). Anyway, thank you all for reading and have a wonderfull day :)
I'm curious, is that an entry level job? I think I might like that
Today I heard a lot of conversations that weren’t happening, but ever louder than that I heard heavy rain. It would go away when I’d force my eyes awake, and come back immediately when closed
I LOVE my hypnagogia I find entertaining and almost relaxing? bc it’s a sign that my fast loud active mind is taking a step back for once, what a relief 😅 it “sounds” like flipping between channels, just very random snippets of conversations and moments, sometimes just voices and sometimes imagery too. Sometimes I find myself speaking it out loud? which, when it’s funny, makes me laugh out loud and then wakes me up lol 🙃 I think whatever the part of my brain is that discerns reality from non reality is able to know that it is meaningless babble/static, which I’m grateful for given my instinctive my pattern seeking tendencies - I imagine it would be frightening to find yourself seeking meaning and msgs from something so neutral that you can’t control
Do any of the rest of you relate to this, because I do. Thanks for sharing. Sending you wishes of Peace, Compassion and Happiness!
Hi there, I'm new here; is there a video about the beginning of your schizoaffective experiences? Sorry that's a really awkward way to say that but I don't know how else to put it. I'm curious about how it started for you.
Thanks for this message. ❤ You look a little like Sarah Palin.
I feel like it would be very easy to confused hypomanic states with just feeling good and mentally healthy. If you see someone taking on multiple creative projects and be creative, you don't think mental illness. Having been mentally ill since I was a child and having many therapists and psychiatrists over the years, I was questioning whether I had some sort of mood disorder because I woke up one morning very energetic and motivated to do things (not only this one instance lmfao, I had been experiencing it a lot but this one morning felt more intense than others and made me seek out answers).I have ME/CFS for context. I talked to my therapist about it and it turns out this wasn't a mood swing or manic/hypomanic state , it was me finally coming out of my fatigue crash and feeling mostly normal again. My extreme fatigue put me in a terrible mood and coming out of it got me in a better mood. She said she would definitely see if I had other components that would indicate a mood disorder based on our interactions and my behaviours. But I checked off some boxes and it turns out I was just... happy that my body felt better lmao. Productivity and feeling good or hyper is usually praised, not frowned upon or questioned. I can totally see why you wouldn't realise it.
All comes down to having to use the same brain that is producing the symptoms to manage them. I maintain it is a clear conflict of interest.
Its interesting how your catatonia and my catatonia difer. I have fnd that also causes me to go catatonic and like you, i do freeze. Everything stops working, but interestingly enough, i lose consciousness as well. Though my mind is still processing the world around me its just like it all come back at once whsn i gain consciousness. Best way i can describe it is its like when you have spotify hook up to your car but you take your phone out of range and it temporarily stops but when your back in range all the song that passed plays rapidly fast.
I don't like this treatment because i find it barbaric. While it may help some it does not help everyone. One can have memory lossm
That's a good question. Usuyaluindi knownimmiña a hypomainic
I've never had anyone tell me they couldn't stop "zoning out". For me, the quiet of it was alluring and I'd stop because someone REALLY wanted to talk to me. I have to wonder how intense it must feel to be rendered immobile.
You are taking the right drugs to stabilize your hypermania and then the depression? Sorry but they don't seem to be working at all Can I say something? First of all I think I am also hypomanic to a degree but in your case it is very extreme..I wonder if you could just not talk at all even if you have so many thoughts..like you don't need to make these videos cause it makes your super speed talking and going from one topic to the next in speed like that..I can suggest this for you. I would close your channel here if it just pulls you to do these videos..Hon all this is coming from my best intentions as a person who also struggles with phsyciatric/ mental conditions..If you shut down this channel and stop making these videos all the time, instead just sit completely quiet in your apartment on the sofa or propped up on your bed, whatever is most comfortable , close your eyes and just breath honey. Just breath in and out deeply and concentrate on your breathing as long as you can. Do not play any songs on your ipod or YT or anywhere. Just sit in silence as much as possible ( I don't know how silent your place is) and while you breath take subtle awareness of the thoughts that enter your brain and what their speed is. Do nothing but breath and see if slowly those thoughts start slowing down. Feel your presence in the moment as you are propped up on your bed, or on your sofa or laying in bed and as your eyes are still closed take notice of every part of your body individually starting from your head slowly like that while still breathing down to your neck, inhale exhale, then your chest, arms, hands, back to chest, stomach as you are inhaling deeply through your nose ( I did not mention that..Inhale through your nose) exhale deeply and slowly through your mouth as one hand is laying on top of your stomach, then go down with your thoughts towards downward parts of your body hips, pelvis, legs, thighs, knees and finally feet..This is a focused meditation exercize..Be much less on your phone and on all the social medias or panels like this one..Block and delete them all if you must and get regular rest sweetie!! I care about you and cannot stress how important de- stressing and regular rest/ sleep is..Also I am a bit older than you and have experienced a whole lot in life❤❤❤❤
BPD 3. Ive had episodes most of my life since Puberty. But periods of stability in between. Like you my "Board Room" was an amazing comfort and a huge help in my day to day life. I even came to depend on one of them in my work and it genuianly did help. Sadly RL cause a change in my situation and as the stress increased the voices also faded. The very tool I had come to depend on for nearly 30 years wasnt there to help me though. My swings from Mania and Depression got bigger and less managable. Until one day I realized those voices were just gone. My ability to bounce ideas off them and their narration I depended on was nowhere. An empty hollow like yelling into a dark cave. Thats when I finally sought help for this episode. Sadly and now a number of medicated years later they are still gone and Im having to learn a whole new way of thinking and living. Its been lonely since no one seemed to understand. Your channel and insights has been a blessing thank you.
I take paxil already an Insomiac before i started so they put me on lunesta I sleep okish til that midday bathroom break hits. I work thirds btw 😊 hope you have a great new years
I’m with you so sorry all you have to dealing with with this disorder and I want to thank you for what your doing.
I’m on my first week of Quetiapine and reducing Venlafaxine. I’m getting some very graphic nightmares. When I wake I seem to be hallucinating the dream still. I’m not getting the tiredness, which I’m happy about, but I do get major cravings for sugar and fatty foods.
Thank you for this. I've always wondered what it feels like to the point I've looked into academic research for hours. Never got an answer as clear as I got in this 60 second short. 😊
That’s why I made it!
