Askeladd's crew was already on the Faroe Islands, that's where the meeting with Floki happened. They just knew that If someone is going to Norway from Iceland, they have to make a pit stop at the Faroe Islands.
i love how the author makes you love and respect someone like Thors, who's a cool and strong warrior, but also shows you that Helga, as a mother and wife, and Leif, as an explorer, are also extremely cool and strong people. it's just small details for now, but you can feel the respect the author has for these people. also, Askeladd and his crew knew where to wait for them because the Faroe Islands are between Iceland and Norway and, because is a long trip, they'd need to stop there to rest and resupply. i'm really loving how invested Cara is! and you don't have to say sorry for getting mad at Ari, he kinda deserves it xd
Thors has that classic cool old guy vibe. Like he’s seen the world in ways few can imagine. You can feel the weight of his words when he’s being serious.
That spear bjorn threw was on purpose. Even those floki was the one hiring them it was Askeladds way of telling floki that he’s the one in charge. Also Bjorn knew there was a spy in there too. Can’t wait for the next reaction ep it’s so good
Close, but not quite. That guy hiding behind the tapestry was supposed to kill Askeladd if he refuse to take the job. Askeladd got Bjorn to "accidentally" kill him in order to dissuade Floki from trying to silence him once he have completed the job.
most of the named characters are based on real people, and the rough timeline of events also mostly checks out, although individual events are largely made up. then again, our known history of that time period is hardly accurate - a lot of it based on poetic retellings decades and centuries after the fact, like the Sagas - so who knows what actually happened. regardless, I highly recommend *NOT* looking up the real history, because it's actually gonna spoil a lot of the story for Vinland Saga.
