- And at last the Kurohyou boss run comes to an end! The game was great to play through especially seeing as I might have new favorites thanks to this game, this boss being one of them. This boss goes from being a business man to reveal that he's hiding something beneath that appearance, kinda like Iwami, minus the freaking super saiyan transformation, LOL. The setting and the music for this fight are enough to make it one of my favorite fights in the series, even if I don't fully understand the context.This fight is cool and I hope you like it as much as I did! Oh yeah, the fighting style used is "Extreme Man"

In case you were wondering why Shinjou is such a deadly bastard, he was trained by the fat guy who was one of the top fighters in the Dragon Heat along with Taizan. He taught him all the dirty fighting moves from back in the day and even crippled Taizan after losing to him and breaking his win streak. The whole plot was for Masatoshi to exact his vengeance on the Dragon Heat, he let Tatsuya know about the money so he would go in headfirst and beat the crap out of Naoki only to finish him off and have him take the fall for the murder
The more information I read about this game the better, and also the more I like it. Thanks a lot for posting this.
the interesting thing now is, the fat guy wasn’t even a dragon heat fighter. He was just a random punk that went in, with no sense of honor or sportsmanship, and decided to kick nogi without following the rules, then deluded himself that he’s the best.
Taizan: he’s put a lot of training into a kick that will instantly kill you if it connects.
Shinjo: *doesn’t even use it at any point in the fight*
Actually, his heat move IS said kick. He punches you in the stomach and procceds with the kick.

tbh I love how on the final bosses opening Tatsuya is acting so different from previous fights
usually they exchange words and he gets ready but here he only takes a breath and actually concentrates despite how playful he was just a second before in the comic. Not sure if it is a sign of his development through the whole game. The first signs were shown after Yuki but I will call that the result
The result of this whole weird adventure where he grew from a reckless street fighter thug to someone I could call a professional.

i just love how running away from the enemy when they heat up is a reliable tactic
in literally every boss fight, just holding X and running is a valid strat to make them waste their Heat

Can we address the fact that Shinjou quite literally turns Super Saiyan before the fight?
Edit: It's also a big shame that Tatsuya's VA is replaced in the second game. As much as I love his VA from the second game, his VA from this one has a special place in my heart.
Turns out this was his first time voice acting, and he admitted to not being the best at it, and because of that he said the staff weren’t pleased his performance at times (I would say his weird laugh in the Toda murder scene was probably a good example of this as it didn’t even match up at all). The staff loved Takumi Saitoh’s performance in the TV show adaptation of Kurohyou so they just said fuck it and decided to recast Tatsuya in the second game with him even having him voice younger Tatsuya in the recap cutscene in 2

I'll get around to it eventually. It'll be quite the task now with Yakuza 0 PC, Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Fist of the North Star all releasing very, very closely to each other. Add to that the possibility of streaming Shenmue among other games that people wanted to see.

I can't wait for the Kurohyou English patch to come out. Definitely would be an awesome motivator for me to start a new save (especially since it bugged out on me on chapter 6 and I couldn't progress the story), so I can fully experience the story of Ukyo Tatsuya: The Man with the Greatest Taunt in the universe.
How so?
The bug? Well, This was chapter 6 and they didn't have any objective markers for the chapter. I had to look on a guide and it turns out you have to talk to some NPCs in order to progress and, no matter how much I retraced my steps, one of them never actually spawn. Once, I realized, it was already too late and I effectively have an unwinnable save :(
Kind of surprised nothing else seems to have come from him, in terms of the Yakuza series.
Heck, I could see potential regarding these heat tier mechanics in other games, kind of like with Yakuza 0, as an example.

I missed saki and tatsuya's father both. I felt empty in the second game but I still had fun, wish saki was still there to accompany tatsuya.
@@Nibrarian Yeah I know what you mean.. and when you complete the gang wars quest line Tatsuya had a really sad line. I don't remember the exact quote but he says something like being alone again and needing to find something to do. If he had Saki or his father he wouldn't have felt this way

it's probably cos you had low stats? my stamina and punch was at 25 kick at 24 while everything else was at 20
Tatsuya's character development is definitely the best in the series, that is my genuine opinon

This battle is soo hard and brutal, and the way you can literally beat the shit of someone that is possesed by a demon is soo epic doe, how Korohyo in this battle is giving his all to beat the ultimate demon in his life and the way the song says ''there is a hole in the muppet'' meaning kurohyo is now realizing his true meaning of his life in the way of battle and how cool this dude looks beating the crap of this supposed demonic guy, i am christian and this guy feel like he exorcising this bad guy overall 10 out of 10 battle

Hoo boy, cheesing him with Extreme Arms on level 27 on hard with a bit above half health and no heals was... Quite the experience, to put it mildly.
Still doesn't hold a candle to Taizan boss fight, probably thanks to the ability to flee from Reiji's attacks, what with the roof having more room to maneuver compared to the octagon.
I only ever got hit by that attack once, every other time he went into heat mode I just kinda fucking bolted lmao
I ran in there with God Leg and beat him first try. The beautiful thing about it is, I used the exact same strategy for him as Taizan - low kick, backdash, and look for openings for the charged Chinese Kempo special kick, which was the move that finished him. I think there's something there - Taizan taught me the tactic I used for the final fight. Taizan is also the only boss I didn't use any healing items for - it made it harder, but it's just one of those fights where healing feels wrong.
I was also level 27 - same as you! I think I had Punch and Stamina at 15, Kick at 30 and the others were left at 1.

I have a few questions about this game so if any one could answer that would be greatly appreciated
1. Can you walk around kamurocho and also are there still random battles like older games.
2.from what I have seen there are no health bars in this game so how do you tell how much damage you and your opponent have taken.
3.is the combat similar to earlier games in the series because from what I have seen it looks quite different.

1. Yes
2. You can check the health bar in the start menu. Other indicators are when the screen flashes red, that's when you know your HP has hit 50% I believe.
3. It's considerably different in how it plays out and how it appears, but the basics are kinda the same. You have rush combos but instead of starting them with square and ending them with triangle, now you can just mash square or triangle plus different directions to pull off different rush combos. Grabs work the same, same for dodging, there is a countering system that's different from the main series which works with L1+D-pad.

You shouldn't have a problem even with minimal setting adjustment. Worst case scenario, setting tutorials on UA-cam should be good enough.

Stanley Cole A company called Spooky Graphic. The same artists did promo art for a Japan only mobile game in 2012 with the yakuza characters you know in the same art style. Also, one of the artists drew Nagoshi in the same style as well

Stanley Cole that would be the harder part to find. About that art for that 2012 mobile game ( which can be found here at its highest resolution app.famitsu.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/タイトルロゴ-1024x639.jpg ) the artist I've been able to find credited somewhat was by "Spooky" Fujisawa (real name being Tomio Fujisawa) but you don't really see yakuza art in the results. Mainly just Tekken Tag Tournament 2 art. So I'm willing to bet he was more of an art director or he's just plain good at changing painting styles.

How does the heat work in Kurohyo? You slowly get it by hitting enemy and the meter of your heat level is the color or those colors are random?
(Or someone please link me with a video where I can get what's going on)
Heat actions are depending on colours
Blue - light heat action
Yellow - Environmental heat action
Red - Heavy heat action
Kurohyou 2, on the other hand has only Blue and Red
Colors though are not random, and basically follow eachother
When you have Blue heat aura - you can either use taunt/items or smack enemy to build up Yellow and then Red heat aura
Also , the reason why yellow heat was removed in the sequel was because the devs added shoving, so the shoving heat actions are the replacements of yellow.
I end the Game but i still dont know how to Taunt the enemy

How to use bunker knuckles
So the whole game you don't have a UI? How can you know when you're wrecking someone or if someone's wrecking you?
Look at the characters' body and motion
If they're badly bruised and limping
Then they're at low health. For Tatsuya it's the same but you can see where he's injured. Getting heavily injured on your arms mean your punches won't hurt anymore.
Yea this is how it works in the PSP Def Jam game, same engine even, you get a vague idea like playing Monster Hunter... it explains why the Ultimate Boss of this game can be a marathon

Easy? He was hard af mainly on new game plus, guy actually now uses his killing blow after his front kick so it catches you of guard and his toe kick deals over 50% of your hp.
Reason why he is so easy here is because Devilleon 100% the game, so he had access to Extreme Style that pretty much is broken.
This move set are better than yakuza 6 , yes i'm bit salty sega using rag doll physic for the new combat gameplay

It marks them reaching around 50% HP, and also the time where they can unleash a combo chain of some sort which if enough of it lands on you, it'll trigger a heat action on you.
Just a different color exclusive to story bosses. Cool thing is that it turns into an icy blue when they're about to attack

Heat aura. If you get hit by boss with pink aura, then expect a follow up heat action on you.

You are limited to three heat actions in any given fight (maybe four depending on how random the yellow heat action wants to be like) in this game since you cannot change styles mid-fight, and four types of grabs in addition to the one counter move you can do. Rush combos are usually out of the question with several of the bosses if you don't want to get countered, this boss included.
So go ahead and humor me, make a video of this boss where you don't use the same move again for a fight that could last well over five minutes, maybe i'll learn a thing or two.
Not much options he has, really. If you've played the game, you'd know. That and its one of the safer ways to get through fights unless you wanna keep hogging down health items like a SCRUB
Is normal combo attack possible if you somehow get behind enemies? I don't think they can counter from behind.
