11 years later we finally discover what happened to her. 11. YEARS. If they had left it a year longer I could have quoted Sirius Black.
It took about the same amount of time to know the fate of the Zillo Beast as well. Makes me wonder if they already had the story planned out or they figured out what to do with them a decade later
@@beenalive1736 either way this step a right direction also with the Movies looming on the Horizon we are eating good get Star Wars Family
@@beenalive1736 Dave said some time ago he planned to kill her off by having her eat which would destroy her cell but he changed his mind and said at a celerbration that he had plans for her.
This helps bring some closer. My two biggest questions in all of Star Wars for me personally was what happens to Barris Offee, now my last big question is: What happened to Rotta the Hutt, Jabba’s Son from TCW movie?
@@fazbrogaming7776 i forgot that little slug is still alive lmao
The Star Wars website confirmed that Jason Issacs is voicing the Grand Inquisitor
I hope we get Scott Lawrence for Vader. He's really knocked it out of the park recently in Fallen Order and Survivor.
@@brycepuck243they will probably use respeech
He also voiced Admiral Zhao in Avatar The Last Air Bender
Nice that Issacs is coming back
Love Jason Isaac in avatar and star wars
I love how this Grievous has a similar aura of terror as the 2003 version.
I was completely blindsided seeing this trailer appear in my feed and I loved everything I’ve seen so far. The Jedi part of the logo burning and being replaced with Empire was chilling.
Also in a move that is way too poetic, this is airing during the same week as the finale of Bad Batch, almost like a sign they the darkness is taking over and snuffing out the last bits of light.
We wear all surprised because it was completely unexpected.
I love how the featured characters still have a shared theme. In Tales of the Jedi it focused on two Jedi who left the order after being disillusioned. Now we follow two characters and the choices they make after their families were wiped out.
Grand Inquisitor was definitely still Jason Issacs. I recognized that voice instantly after months of Baldur's Gate 3
Let’s be honest, we should have all known there’s something off about Barriss when she decided to scale a cliff side on Geonosis in heels. Glad to see she’s alive! (for now)…
when was this which episode?
@@TjaVideos Season 2 ‘Weapons Factory’, it’s the scene where Ahsoka and Barriss are climbing down to get to the tunnels below the factory. Also reminds me, same episode she cut a square opening in the wall, but she started in the middle of one of the sides, like who does that? 😅
Edit: I looked it up out of curiosity, you can clearly see it at 6:45 in the episode…
In the scene where Vader walks past Barriss. She reacts like someone who has sensed a similar force presence. It seems like she is able to feel who Vader actually is.
Seeing The Empire fully realized in the Clone Wars animation style is so damn cool to see.
I think it's still possible to get Ventress's story told in a group of Tales of the Jedi shorts. I also believe that Baylon Skoll is the perfect match to partner up with her in that spotlight. Based on thay, and the fact that this set of shorts is called Tales of the Empire instead of Tales of the Jedi, Baylon and Ventress could get their stories told in Tales of the Fallen. It would also allow more time to find an actor that can play Baylon in Ahsoka after Ray Stevenson's passing
This sounds like the perfect way to do it - my thoughts exactly. Perhaps we'll get a 3rd instalment of "TotJ" later this year, as 6 shorts don't seem that big a task to do twice a year.
Gonna place this in my head as future canon
❤ finally Barriss is BAACK.
(and Thrawn, Morgan, Grand Inquisitor, Vader... Marrok,...😂)
GENERAL GRIEVOUS!!!!!!!!!
Bariss Offee is such an interesting character. She isn’t necessarily a bad person, just that the Jedi of the time failed her (another failure), and she fell in turn. She seemed to be a very good padawan, well trained and smart.
I can see the “Tales of the…” format being used to see different stories throughout the Skywalker Era would be an interesting idea.
Tales of the Rebellion.
Tales of the First Order.
Tales of the New Republic.
Etc, etc…
At least within reason and of 9 episodes each focused on specific characters just like what we have so far.
Tales of the Clones or Tales of Kamino?
@@whateveryoda we had that for season 7s really.
Tales of the Mandalorian
Tales of the Bounty Hunters, maybe? ;)
@@christianyaerger1751 that would be interesting. More bounty Hunter stuff could be fun. Even some like Dengar or Bossk could get some bigger screen time.
I'm guessing that sooner or later we'll get:
-Tales of the Bounty Hunters
-Tales of the Rebellion
-Tales of the Resistance
-Tales of the First Order
And I can't wait to possibly see them in the future (Especially those set during the rise of the First Order)
Hopefully we get IG-88s story from the book
They adapted the Ahsoka Novel for Tales of the Jedi.
Maybe for a Tales of the First Order, we could see about adaptation of the comic where Darth Vader visits Exegol before the Emperor's first death, or maybe that one of Kylo Ren on Dagobah.
You forgot:
- Tales of the Hoojibs
- Tales of Shira Brie
I could definitely see a tales of the high republic as well
I think no one was expecting this at all, but I'm all in on it. Getting some confrimation that Barris did in fact join the Inquisitorious was nice to see, but on the other hand knowing she's not the 7th Sister raises more question as to what happens to her after TOTE.
basically opens up for more inquisitors stories content with Barris.
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
We will watch these episodes with great interest.
lol, "the day when i put out the canon video it will immediately be out of date". Very broad shoulders Alex, a real treasure in the community
Them using that Grevious model from Clone Wars Season 7 with this more better looking animation was the thing I needed to see for so many years and we finally go it!
May the 4th by with you!
Also I love these animated shows tying up to so much from the rest of the series! No stone left unturned for continuity!!
Going back to Asaji Ventress, if the current trend of animated anthologies continues, we could eventually get a "Tales of the Bounty Hunters", and we could see her story continue in that!
So hyped for this show. Barriss fighting another would-be Inquisitor to enter the order gave me big Legends Royal Guard-vibes - when they would have to fight each other to the death at the end of their training to prove themselves. Also, the idea that we can just have Tales of the Blank for anything Star Wars is super exciting. I would love to see Tales of the First Order or Tales of the Syndicates.
Freeze-framing on the jedi that Barris and the fourth sister are fighting, I'm fairly certain that she is Luminara, and given we know where she ends up, it's makes me wonder either Barriss turns her over to the empire and complete her fall to the dark side, or if Luminara sacrifices herself to save Barriss. Guees we'll have to wait and see.
I love that they brought back Jason Issacs for the Grand Inquisitor
Hang on, I'm fairly sure I saw somewhere that the Grand Inquisitor was one of the temple guards present at Barriss' trial.
Yeah I heard the same, that he was there at her trial and heard what she said and it began his doubt in the republic and the jedi
Yep. He was there and this is why he mocking her
Filoni states he was there, though not in any official work. While there's no conflicting reason for him *not* to be, I'm not really sure if we should include press conferences as canon? Im pretty neutral on it
That fact hasn't appeared in any sort of reference book, and things change. Until its actually in a published work I'm not *personally* going to count it as 100% canon, but you are entirely correct in that it is the director's initial vision.
Its probably about to become hard canon though, because Filoni intended the Asohka/Bariss incident to be the final straw in his radicalization
Filoni said that he was one of the pair of temple guards that arrested her, and that he was standing behind her in the Senate during the trial. If this is about to be hard canonized it provides room for potentially great dialogue moments between them.
He was one of the 2 who grabbed her to take her away
Some people have always wanted Barriss to have been the Seventh Sister from Rebels, they say, it should have been her, but I never liked the idea of Barriss becoming an Inquisitor because it conflicts with her own ideology. She disagrees with the Jedi's part in the war, but she would not be out to hunt them down. I also think that if given the opportunity, Vader would have struck her down because to Anakin, it was also her fault why Ahsoka left, and if Ahsoka hadn't left, maybe he wouldn't have become Vader; she's a reminder of that which he used to be, and he hates that, and it's one less person who could find out about his past. Now that we've seen Reva's story in the Obi-Wan series, I get the feeling that Barriss is only doing this to survive, and perhaps she will fall fully to the Dark Side, but she just needs an out from being imprisoned and eventually executed. Becoming an Inquisitor would be her way of doing that. If Reva joined the Inquisitorious in order to have a chance at revenge against Vader, Barriss could be doing something similar just to survive until she's given an opportunity to escape.
I think those are Daysisters and not Nightsisters. They live in upper parts of Dathomir at mountain peaks and they use opposite side of Magick that Nightsisters also use (like Ying and Yang).
What you said about Elsbeth and how she might be "using" the Empire to help the Nightsisters, but in the process just continuing the cycle of oppression and violence...now doesn't that remind me of a certain Grand Admiral she knows.
I'm so psyched for this. We can at last stop asking, "Will we finally learn what happened to Bariss?!" after every new series or story is announced.
I did not expect season 2 of Tales of the Jedi be primarily focus on the Empire. Like the first season focus on the light side, mostly, and the second focus more on the dark side. I can’t wait for this show on May the Fourth! 😊
Looks AMAZING
wow this came out of no where how awesome
Why do fans still think that the Inquisitor from Tales of the Jedi is the Sixth Brother? Inquisitor Rise of the Red Blade already confirmed his appearance and that it doesn’t match up with the one in Tales of the Jedi. I understand that they have similar fates, but the wiki still has them as separate characters.
Agreed. Nobody’s calling those two siblings Kaeden and Miara, so this guy isn’t the Sixth Beother either
@@thomasgrove2724The only reason that fans STILL think this to this day is because it’s Disney and people always assume that they’ll retcon everything. Well, retcons have happened, but not that often. The author of the Ahsoka novel states that the book is still canon, which means the Sixth Brother’s appearance in the book is still canon.
@@thomasgrove2724 Also, in the recent novel Inquisitor Rise of the Red Blade, the description for the Sixth Brother is that he has blue eyes, not red eyes like the inquisitor from Tales of the Jedi. The book came AFTER tales.
It’ll be interesting if Barris pulls a second sister move. Found the era of her ways last minute just to be executed. Or the reason why they brought Barris is just for her to return in Ashoka season 2. Either as a Reva character or just another inquisitor to be a rival against Ashoka.
Insanely quick with this video haha. Super excited!
You guys rule. I've watched this channel grow and grow due to your hard work and enthusiasm for this thing we all love. It really does require so much work and dedication and I admire your ability to make it happen.
Peace to the both of you, and anyone else who helps make this channel happen, and to everytone else whynot?
Fingers crossed for an Iskat Akaris cameo...
Green Flame!
Barriss!! More nightsisters! So excited 🔥
Thanks, Alex! 🔥 I love that *Meredith* *Salenger* is back voicing 'Barriss'.
Dude this looks insane!
Cool to see the other Inquisitor Initiate that Barriss fights appears to be a Caphex from the Rise of Skywalker. I always enjoy when the animated series and games, in particular, try to the world-building aspects of the Sequel trilogy into the prior eras.
The grand inquisitor is one the temple guards that arrested Barriss and brought her to the court and it's one reason he fell. No doubt this will be brought up and I'm praying we'll finally discover what his real name is because thats 8 years overdue.
And just like that The Acolyte is on the back burner for me
I remember talking to my friends about how we thought Ventress and Ashoka would die at the end of the Clone Wars because they weren’t in anything after that
It’s crazy to think how wrong we were and how many great stories have come from those characters since then.
I would actually give me life for more inquisitor content. I loved it rebels, kenobi, fallen order, rise of the red blade, and marroks bits in Ahsoka and now we have MORE!
This was such a surprise
Yes, Barriss is one of my favorite Jedi Padawans, I want her to be redeemed!
Seeing Morgan in her animated form makes me appreciate the Mandalorian and Ahsoka series even more!!!
When I first saw Morgan in Mandalorian, I thought that she is just a one off character that we will not be seeing again but I was wrong!
Having Lars Mikkelson back as Thrawn IS the reason why he cannot be replaced because Lars is Thrawn in live action and animation.
I’m imagining a scene where Marrok and Elsbeth meet at some point and maybe fight each other leading to his defeat and resurrection via Nightsister magic. Or the Empire uses Morgan to resurrect their fallen and Thrawn/Morgan is gifted Marrok for a mission.
I always thought Barriss would become an Inquisitor but now it's actually confirmed so this trailer makes everything even better.
Man I’m so pumped for this! Gonna be so fun!
A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one!
This came out of nowhere! And I’m not complaining!
I am so hyped I can’t even describe
i cant wait to see this show
Beyond excited for this to drop!
I don’t know if the Rogue Squadron movie is still happening but I’d love to see a series about starfighter pilots. It would most likely be set during the OT or just after ROTJ and follow imperial and rebel pilots
In a personal observation, the new republic representative looks to be a Mere; They were an amphibious species from the planet Maramere in legends, most heavily featured in the tie-in comic “Star Wars Starfighter: Crossbones”.
They’re usually all green and orange but this one looks to be pale blue all over. Anyway, great to see the animation team to start using more obscure aliens for characters I.e Sylar Seris and the family from ‘Identity Crisis’ of the Bad Batch.
BARRISS IS BACK, LET'S GOOOOOO!!!
I was shocked when this dropped. I'm now more excited about than The Acolyte!
New wishlist of events: Barriss saves the jedi and eventually joins up with Asajj in taking down the Nightmothers from Peridia. Likely? Nope. Awesome? Sounds amazing to me! 😂
It's been really cool seeing Mollie's editing skills improving in each video!
I like that throughout the search you just see Troopers with flame throwers so you have that silent threat of just how much destruction they are completely willing and able to pull to accomplish their mission.
things going 'out-of-date' is among the reasons StarWarsExplained is needed
You got me in the moment you've threatened that the cycle will continue 😂😂
I am super excited for the tales of the empire! If only we could get this follow up anthology tales of the high republic with avar/elzar/stellan, the San tekkas/Ros, and some other plot elements.
Morgan's swords looks totally like Ethiopian Shotels
I’m so excited for tales of empire are we still getting tales of the Jedi season 2
Probably not since the logo of TotJ dissolved into Tales of the Empire. And that's way better if you ask me. Enough Jedi, we're now getting two stories about very interesting characters whose whereabouts we want to learn. Dooku was great for Totj, Ahsoka was already milked to death
@@beenalive1736 A logo treatment is not evidence for something not happening. Leaks were talking about them expanding the tales format to other areas like Sith and Bounty Hunters we just weren't expecting Empire to happen so soon. Jedi season 2 was rumored to be a part of the fall/winter season.
I'm already seeing a pattern here with the Tales series that might give us some clue as to what comes next. This series is following two characters that, like Ahsoka and Dooku, one is still very much alive and one is most definitely dead. So I can see Barriss Offee still being alive by the end of the series because we already know the fate of Morgan Elsbeth.
Also I do like how both of these characters have an origin and a finale respectively that's directly tied to Ahsoka.
So freaking happy barriss offee l miss her so much is back Am so hyped to watch this show on May 4th this is where the fun begins 😊
Out if freaking no where and a GENIOUS idea! 🤩🤩🤩
The trailer left me in shock and awe.
I would absolutely love it if Barris turns of the 4th sister saves the Jedi and then somehow connects with the Path.
I like the idea of having a "Tales of. . ." series of shows to give us these little arcs to flesh characters out and give us stories that can't cleanly fit elsewhere. I really hope we get a Tales of the Rebellion or Tales of the Sith or even more of Tales of the Jedi
I feel like I could take on the whole Empire!
If only Dak from Empire Strikes Back tried😂😂
Its hard to tell from the lighting, but that jedi the Fourth Sister is fighting looks like a Mirialan. It might even be Luminara, giving Barriss even mofe reason to intervene since its her former master.
I’m still so sad Marok ended up being a non-character. I felt like he could have made a really good reoccurring threat and was despatched too early. He could have been Thrawn’s muscle alongside his gold mask trooper
This honestly looks awesome! 🔥 I love the connections to TCW, Rebels & Mandoverse. The animation style & quality. Bariss Offee finally returning. And of course General Grievous, he looks great! 💙💚
This was a wonderful surprise for my lunch.
Long have I waited to know the fate of Barriss Offee.
I'm actually very curious if after Bad Batch and Tales of the Empire we’re going to get another animated series (besides possible TotJ sequels). I love the ever updating animation and there are so many stories to keep expanding upon
I was pleasantly surprised to see this trailer, and especially so that we're finally getting a followup on Barriss' story. Maybe we'll even get a proper name for that masked guy.
I bet Tales of the Empire is gonna show Luminara's reaction to Barriss bombing the temple and then it'll show Barriss hunting and capturing her and executing her. In legends both wear killed in order 66, in canon, the opposite.
My hope is the Barriss storyline starts with a order 66 scene from both her and the grand inquisitors POV. We could get to see the Grand inquisitor betray and cut down his fellow temple guards on screen, and Barriss would watch on as she falls under the Control of the empire during the chaos.
I wonder if Ray Stevenson recorded any lines for this show before he passed away since this ties into Morgan’s story. It would be a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
They should bring on directors to make full contained animated films in this style.
Vader is going to immediately see barriss and be like: nah…
April 4th is my birthday, this trailer was a awesome present!
You missed the small detail that the lightsaber the Grand Inquistor gave Bariss is Luminara’s
I'm torn because yes, the trailer does look good and I do want to see what happens to Bariss, on the other hand I was really hoping the next "tales" series would dive into some new era's like the High Republic. We already have so much "age of the empire" content as is and a break I feel is in order. Filoni really does seem to gravitate to anything Clone Wars or between episodes III & IV.
I really hope they still ride Rancors in canon. They were badass in legends.
So excited! Can't get enough of my SW animation 😍
I wonder what season 3 will be then. They could jump to the sequels, but this season makes me think they’re going through each “age” rather than trilogy, meaning that the next season would be “Tales of Rebellion”.
The clone wars animation style fits Star Wars so well, I saw the character designs described as puppet like and I think that’s a part of what makes it so brilliant
Based on what Jennifer Corbett and Brad Rau said, it really seemed to me that, while they were given enough time to wrap up the story, ending The Bad Batch after 3 seasons was not the creators' choice. If someone higher up killed The Bad Batch, it makes me doubt another series is already in the works. Perhaps Asaaj will be in the next round of actual Tales of Jedi? Or it could be a book or comic.
Im so excited for the Barriss episodes, its been years and I've always wondered what happened to her after she was arrested at the end of season 5 of CW
SO amped for this new installment of the "Tales of the" Series. Oh, maybe we can get a Tales of the Mandalorians series. We can get a younger Jango meeting and mentoring Cad Bane, how Bo-Katan joined Death Watch and maybe even Tarre Vizsla making the darksaber.
I'm so excited for this. This is really gonna be really awesome. I don't know when this will take place. I assume after revenge of the sith. Maybe, but I don't know we'll have to find out
I do wish we got something for Grevious after all in canon we don't know his backstory only that he was a Kalee warrior unlike in Legends where he got an entire backstory but i guess we wait for Grevious' canon story
SO EXCITED!!!!! My husband and I can’t wait 😁😁😁
