Heyy, just listening to you has changed my life, I just celebrated my 38 bday and I've genuinely believed in friendship and love all my life. Hope is a good word and holding on to it has been the most helpful in times where I deeply felt the need for someone, there's nights where I wish I had conversations with someone or woke up to someone I would love everyday. I have often felt that I have so much love to give yet people don't even notice me.

Hi, Myra! You are always looking for suitable background music for your videos. An hour ago the Austrian artist and scientist Clemens Arvay uploaded his piano pièce "The old willow" on his channel. I felt so free to tell him you might like it and might perhaps want to use it. He plays the piano in the forest. He knows all about health and healing people. If the two of you worked together you'd be the most sympathetic team in the world. I'd be happy if you listened to Clemens Arvay: "The Old willow". Have a nice Sunday, Myra.

"If you have nothing to give, give a smile." That is SO powerful, because something as simple as that can set off a whole chain of great things. It can make a bunch of people feel good, which increases positive energy, which comes around back to you. Lots of wisdom here.

“Any gift, however small, improves the condition of humanity. You cannot see this, of course, but it is true because it is an aggregate. It is like a scale. If evil and oppression are weighing down the scale completely on one side, you don’t have something as great as that to counteract it, to balance the scale, to offset the overwhelming dominance of evil and circumstance, of ignorance, of oppression, of poverty and so forth. When you add to the other part of the scale something small, it seems to have no effect, but when others add something small, sooner or later, in time, the scale is balanced, and beyond this it moves in favor of what is true and natural for human beings-which is to be united with others, which is to be creative, which is to be in service to their families and cultures in the world, to preserve the world, to take care of people, to be inspired and to have the glow of an inner life within themselves. Even when circumstances look bad, even in the face of failure and defeat, the power of Knowledge is within you.”
If you resonate with this quote, I recommend exploring The New Message from God free online along with the work of Marshall Vian Summers.

Make one small change week and don't go back on it. After a year's worth of small changes every week your life will be very different and you will barely even recognize yourself when from when you started.
Good places to start are meditation/mindfulness/eating healthier/exercising more/cutting down on screens/learning about the human body and the science behind mental health. I truly believe if anyone implements everything on this list one thing at a time they can get themselves out of the deepest depression possible.

Hard to smile when you are stressed out/tensed in social situations. I already try to be nice to people, to the point that I think I seem even more weird. Often I'm not able to have normal conversations with people. You are right that we feel to have to give something to people, that's a side-effect of low self-esteem.
Either way I believe like you that being nice is a good start to try to interact with people and it's better than doing/speaking nothing at all. (It's also a good character trait to keep to a healthy extent) But you still have to be careful, so you don't get exploited and don't stop building and trying to be able to show your real personality. Many people won't respect shy and kind people.
And letting the other person speak more is also a good advice, even though even listening to people often also makes me nervous, since in some way or another I have to react to what the other person was saying.

Totally relate. Add hearing loss which is even worse in group settings and everything becomes even that much more awkward and stressful. Feel like an idiot asking people to speak up or repeat themselves, especially if they have an accent (my children's Dad/family are Jamaican). Can't afford hearing aids. I've done so many solo trips and events that has gotten boring. Just feel blah and unmotivated anymore.

There are kinds of women that will come and go in a man's life that stop him right in his tracks and they end up leaving a mark on his soul for the rest of his life. My intuition knows you are definitely that kind of woman.
You're soul feels so kind to me, so warm, and so beautiful that you have to fight back the tears, it genuinely breaks my heart. It's that kind of beauty that's so intense, and so gentle, that no matter what, it cannot be resisted. it will inevitably penetrate through any armor someone may have guarding over their hearts. What a great gift to give to others.
A true inspiration that you are indeed for all to see, you're exemplifying femininity in it's purest art form. Thank you.

"Only after loosing everything, you are free to do anything."
That helps sometimes when you get in the right mindset. Most of the time, it all comes down to what fiction writer Carlos Castaneda said on one of his books:
You have to stop your internal noise. In this case, it means trying to quiet down, or more likely, calm down your internal voice.
All of this works if you are the person in the corner, brooding.
For you to stop feeling you are worthless, you first need to find your worth. But to find your worth firts you need to stop battling against yourself.
One way is the one Myra (the OP) says in this video.
Another way is saying to yourself "ok, right now I have nothing to give, but at the same time I have nothing to loose. That means I can try whatever I want and fail as many times as I need until I find what I'm good at." And remember you are going to fail, but keep doing stuff, keep trying new stuff, specialy stuff where you have to create or build something. Try them for long enough (3 to 6 months, minimum) so you actually get to know a bit of what you are doing.
I know this takes time and discipline, but at the very least, it will show you what you don't want or what you are not good at, and that's half the battle.
But the other perk is better: it will let you know other people that are also getting to know themselves through learning something new.
And if you are thinking "but I already know i'm a failure, why bother?", then think to yourself "why not? What else do I have to loose?".
    Hence quote from the begining.
This has helped me through more than 10 years of cronical depression. Hope it helps you fellas too.

Thank you for sharing this video! I was challenged by this for many years. I have been using some of these steps and its been so helpful for me. 1. I smile in social settings. 2. I always focus on the other person. 3. I listen but do not interupt, I try to nod my head and maintain eye contact. 4. I have a younger person who reports to me at work, I focus on always complimenting her work both one on one and in public meetings. 5. I also want to suggest a plan for remembering names, if you forget someone's name at a social gathering, when asking again, say "oh I meant your last name" 99% of the time they will say both names. This video has so much excellent advice and its been working for me. Thank you always for posting, each time you post its a treasure for me.

i have felt like an outsider for such a long time. having a history of being bullied and living in a not-so-safe place, it's been hard opening up to others. it's as if I have this fear that someone will provoke me in some way. this has made me avoid and become dismissive towards situations like that. it's also caused me to beat myself up for not living up to anyone's expectations, especially since I desire a sense of acceptance. thank you, myra. thank you for talking about this as this helped me realize what I would now like to directly self-improve.

When they self-disclose I also self-disclose so as to even things up. They tell me that they like me or want to spend time with me or be my friend. And yet, every friend or “friend” just walks away from me and I don’t have friends.

While offering a smile is simple and can make a person feel good, in some of my experiences making eye contact with someone, a smile, and small talk has made myself appear more approachable and opened the door to people with the wrong intentions. I think that is why some people aren’t nice or have an angry demeanor all the time. Maybe it’s their defense mechanism.

Good advice. It really helps. If you don't feel ready to expose yourself to close social settings, you can do that while taking a stroll in your neighbourhood or wherever, just give a little smile or a short nod of acknowledgement to people passing you by once in a while. Don't pressure yourself. Starting with those who look open-minded, sympathetic, calm or in a good mood might ease you into it. Don't expect anything. But once in a while someone will smile back at you. Then you can feel you are making a difference. Enjoy that moment. It's valuable. You can do the same at places you shop next. After a while it will help you recognize strangers you otherwise wouldn't notice because you are wrapped up in your own thoughts and worries. You will start to memorize faces of people who smile back if you pass each other more often. Even when you don't talk at all, it will give you a sense of belonging in your everyday environment, make you feel it is more worthwhile leaving the house to do groceries or just stroll around the block for a few minutes. That way you can help yourself feel less isolated - without having to interact much. Even bummed out introverts can try this, hard as it might seem at first. I know it's a real exercise if you feel down and out. Once you have it grown into a habit, however, it will ease your days.

Yep! The art of reciprocity heals... express your ever evolving needs, wants and feelings and ask the same for the other person and see if you guys can make a good deal! From that evolving discussion, you can tell stories about your experiences too and the other person may be inclined to do so as well... or perhaps they'll tell you first, especially if you're listening to them. Then you can learn from what they tell you and then you can try and implement it for your own self. So you can also garner self-respect through this way too through these types of external means. I think the general rule is something like this - if you're stuck and suffering too painfully inside, reach out and if too difficult, reach out one 0.001% step or smaller, at a time. And vice versa - if you're stuck and suffering too painfully outside, reach/reflect inward and if too difficult, reach/self-reflect one 0.001% step or smaller, at a time. The idea is to balance your map between your internal information mechanisms and your external information mechanisms so either one doesn't tilt too far/much in one direction whilst also expending the other where, intentionally or unintentionally, you're falling apart or destroying everything and/or taking others down with you (unless you want that, then that's intentional).

You've kindly given me so much of your time, like when you helped me on android photo settings, and all the times you were just simply kind to me, even though I didn't feel deserving of it. Inside of you, there's a huge loving heart, I really know there is, and it has helped me open my heart. One of my hardest things to do is to simply smile... you taught me to smile. It seems like a simple little thing, but that alone opened up the world for me to explore! I hope you don't mind that, without expectations, obligations, or sexualizations, I open my heart to you and confess that I love you! Hey, what the heck, I might as well love everyone! I often feel this way too. In a social settings, I think it's important to also approach someone who you may notice acts withdrawn, much like that guy in the corner in the group, to make them feel important and valued. Please keep approaching this guy as you don't realise how important it is for someone recognising him.
This also has a mirror effect on you. Being kind to other people you'll find the majority of the time they will be kind to you. I work face to face customer services and often I'll find that some people may appear aloof or quite stern when you first greet them, then when you smile and ask how they are, how their day is, you start to see that wall coming down and see them in a completely different light and not what your first impression of them was.

    A super secret smile, Myra!
What you are sharing may be little, but I believe it is of so much value. Especially because the typical advises people like us get from "normal people", as you said, never work.
I hope you allow me to add something even more little.
"Feeling worthless, sitting in the corner and looking grumpy" accurately describes most of my life. And it hurts so much, but what hurts even more are those times where I know I have something to offer, but I believe no one actually want it from me.
I often find it awkward to smile to people or say "Hi!". Probably because during elementary and middle school i got criticized and laughed at even for smiling or just saying "Hi!".
During my sacred music degree I discovered almost by chance how much better my music lessons were if I just entered the room with a smile. Even no need to say "Hi!"
For a long time I did not realize how often my grumpy face actually put me in a bad starting position even before having the chance of smiling and saying "Hi!" and by that potentially "ruining everything".
This bad starting position often brought other negative feelings and required me to focus on myself in order to somehow "not freak out and run away" making it much more difficult to give a smile or even approach someone.
So if I may just add some little advice from my own experience, avoiding that grumpy face and entering a room with a slightly smiling, positive and open face helps a lot with actually being able to smile and say "Hi!" to someone.
After that comes the awkwardness, but that might be material for another video.
Reaching out to that guy... you are a superhero!
You worry too much about the lighting in your videos, your beautiful soul will shine trough and brighten everything up anyways, the dark days of your viewers included 😊
"If you have nothing to give, give a smile."
    ❤️

I totally agree with you Myra; even if you ever feel like you have nothing else to give at any given moment, you can always give someone else a *smile* at the very least. I love the way you think about things. You are such a Positive Energy, uplifting, and inspiring Spirit and Soul!...
And I certainly hope you aren't implying with this video that you yourself feel like you have "nothing" to offer, because that couldn't be further from the truth, as you offer us ALL your truly inspiring and uplifting thoughts in every video that you post, so just know that you are helping the entire world, (whoever sees your videos AND those lucky enough to actually know you personally IRL, at least), to overcome personal obstacles and to be and become the best person(s) we all can possibly be!...
I really wish that one day I will get to meet you and become one of your close friends, in your social circle, because we have a LOT of the same views about life and Love... So if that is ever meant to be then I would definitely welcome your naturally beautiful Soul into my life too! 🤗
Thank you SO MUCH for being able to show us your true, complete, vulnerable, and totally beautiful inner self!... And don't worry at all about "how often" you post a new video either, because it is *quality over quantity* , and the longer it takes you to make your videos exactly like YOU want them, the more valuable to everyone watching them that they become... but at the same time, you don't need to try to make them "perfect" either, because that's NOT a realistic OR useful goal... just quality information and true, deep, genuine, inner thoughts about things... those are awesome to see from you!
So, thank you for being a wonderful Social Media Influencer, having great Social Media Intelligence, giving out such great Social Media Information, being a TRUE Social Media Inspiration, and ultimately just simply Sharing Multidimensional Information in every single one of your videos!... How's that for my take on your "secret word" of the day?... What is YOUR take on that acronym you mention? I'm curious... LMK what YOU were referring to with that...

A smile or laughter right from the bottom of your heart is something very powerful everyone ones. In my early twenties I attended at almost every party in our town.
To have fun, but mostly to have conversations with other guests. It doesn't matter who was talking.
On every party I attended, there was this one small guy, who was leaning against the wall with a beer in one hand. He was clearly listening to our, sometimes pretty "brainless" topics, but he seemed to like it but he kept distance. Every approach to get him into our conversations were refused by him and he left the room to finally come back later. After some parties me and some other guys who got also invited on every party figured out how to make him laugh.. also with a little help from the host.
It was like a small challenge.. who makes him laugh the most without speaking to him directly? . It was fun and he clearly enjoyed it. Soon he joined our group "silently" and started talking to us. He wasn't a man of words. But when he talked, he did it so calmly in a well mannered language.. almost everyone in our small group stopped talking. I later found out, that he also loves to cook and soccer and we soon became good friends. We often talk..ok..most of the time I talk, but that's how things go and he seemes to be fine with it :)
I may missed the topic a bit.. I'm sorry. But I wanted to point out, that this guy..who stood in the corner.. had so much to give and it all started with a smile.
We all love him the way he is..as a good friend, listener, a very tipsy cook, and the best frozen margarita maker.
I really like your videos. They often make me think about your topics and that's good. Keep it up!

I have learned to watch your videos intentionally. They are so much better when I set aside time to solely watch them. I doubt I will ever be first to comment, but I am okay with that. I think you have hit upon the key to interacting with people. I still consider myself an introvert, but question that as well. A friend asked me how I was able to talk to anyone, how I never met a stranger. My response was that I asked questions and then listened. I didn't turn the conversation toward my topics, I kept with their's. I have been practicing for decades, and now it is a natural thing without much thought. I find that people will, in turn, ask questions back. That allows me plenty of space to discuss my passions as well. Also, I have found that I am giving them something that few people have, an ear that truly listens. People find value in that, and subsequently find value in the listener. My closest friendships started with the simplest of things, genuine interest in what people are saying. Thanks for the video!
