It's true that these techniques allow you to be very creative, the neighbor function is very cool I can't wait to try. It's a lot of things on a small box I think you have to repeat and repeat because I find that you can lose it very quickly with all these p locks. thank you for sharing it's very helpful
Ace! I use them loads and always thought about just doing one long sequence that’s always evolving with polyrhythms etc. would you say the syntakt is the box you go to the most? It is on my wish list
Hey mate how you doing? It honestly depends what the goal is, Digitakt is my absolute go to for getting drums going, kick, snare, hats and rides etc, percussion and even bass sometimes. The Syntakt is my go to for weird percussion, modular sounding stuff. I much prefer to use samples for the main bread and butter sounds for a kit.
Yeah I like the idea of having a box that’s just the sounds it makes, not going through loads of samples. But I love my digitakt. The digitone is like that but only 4 tracks is quite limiting sometimes
Takes a little longer to come up with sounds but you can get wild stuff eh! To be fair, live record and wangling random stuff gets amazing results fast
love your examples.. makes clear sense, thanks!
Thanks 🙏 Good to hear you found it useful

No worries 🙏 I need to push it further see what I can squeeze from these techniques as previously I wasn’t really using the neighbours at all!
Do you think that on the cycle model it is possible to make a similar patern with similar effects?
I’m really not sure to be honest I’ve never played with either of the model range

Also depends on the genre too! Modular techno stuff then definitely Syntakt!
