Love, love, love abstract painting and enjoy doing a lot of them myself. Thank you Jo for sharing your amazing talent with us your paintings are Amazing. Cheers Mel
Graeme thanks for sharing Jo's work another great show. Jo I love your technique and how wonderful your paintings are. They have such depth and your use of colours is awesome. Just a real pleasure to the eye. I saw so many things that you have left for the viewers to discover. 👍👍
Oh Gayle, you have blown me away with your lovely comments on my painting and the video. It was one of the most special days of my life and I will ever be grateful to Graeme and the team for the opportunity to feature in this series. Thank you so much 💐
I love your videos, when im at work your music comes to my mind and then I can't wait to watch an episode, i love it and ive learnt so much, and my mind has really openned up to new things!
Thats wonderful Marcella, I have enjoyed filming the series now for the last eight years. We air on TV stations in 13 countries now and film in 7. You might like to look at my partners work after seeing your title jofrederiks.altervista.org/home.php . , Thanks again and I hope all is well, Graeme
Great stuff - and thanks to the CIYL team & Jo for sharing this with us. That initial wild 'activation' of the canvas led me to expect lots of uncontrolled frenzy - moreso when Jo said she was primarily guided by her intuition. But by the end of the piece (and as is evident from the many other works that Graeme showed us) there is also an element of control and discipline in her work that gives a sense of form and cohesion to that initial artistic inspiration. A thoroughly enjoyable 25 minutes and thanks again to all involved. Regards, Brian.
Thank you Brian. I am so glad that you enjoyed the video and my artwork. It was a wonderful day and I am so grateful to have had this incredible opportunity of show my painting style.
What beautiful work, I love the colours, so dynamic. It was fascinating to watch your techniques Jo, thank you for sharing your process's I learnt a lot. A big thumbs up to Colour in your Life for finding and filming such an awesome artist, another triumphant episode. Wishing Jo and the Colour in your Life team all the best, thanks guys :)
4PAWS oh my goodness what a wonderful comment . Thank you ,I appreciate that so much. It was the most fun day and I am thrilled that you felt you learnt from it . Kind regards. Jo
Thank you so much Miz. My art journey has been a huge learning curve over the years and some of the techniques I picked up have stayed with me and become the normal way I paint. It’s fun to explore and always something new to learn. Glad you enjoyed the video.😀
Isn’t the brush amazing. It is Escoda 7 made in Spain. They come in several different sizes. Also has a long handle so brilliant for really big canvases. Thanks so much for your comment.👏
I don’t know where you live Lani but these are fairly readily available in NZ. They are pretty much like the kitchen spatula you use to scrape the bowl out after a cake mix. They come with a handle but the one I was using in the video the handle had fallen off - I actually prefer it that way as I can manoeuvre it by feel. I have 3 sizes I use - that one in the film was the middle size. I am so happy that you enjoyed the video and like my artwork. Thanks so much.
It is actually a glass topped drawing/ drafting desk which can be adjusted from flat to about 30 deg. I have 2 of them so end to end I can fit a pretty big canvas. I prefer painting that way to an easel. Thanks for loving my work and I appreciate your comment 😀
Thank you so much for watching the video and huge thanks for loving my work. I seal the charcoal marks with a spray can of “Fixative” it should be readily available for you to purchase . It only takes seconds to dry which is a bonus. Regards. Jo 😀
Thanks so mush for your interest. The blending tool is a rubber spatula which actually comes with a handle which broke off ! I actually prefer it with no handle because I can completely control the rubber to twist and turn if I want to do long sweeping strokes. For big canvases I often use one of those long window cleaners. I experiment with lots of household items and it’s amazing often they work for me
Thank you so much Paul. My day with the Colour in Your Life team has been the absolute highlight of my artistic journey. I am thrilled that you loved the painting 😁

@@jocelynrankin3009 you are so welcome. ☺🇨🇦
Wonderful artist, doing abstract art is so much fun. Many artists feel that this style of art is the closest to true reality. Great show as always.
