At first I was horrified that you added more colour to the focal point - I thought it looked lovely as it was....then when I saw how the creation developed, I was fascinated and inspired. What a beautiful work of art.

Generally I use canvas for painting. We also can use primed papers. Thanks.

hi thank you so much for sharing you beautiful work. your tuition is so calming precise and detailed almost like mediation. ive tried some different styles and settled on botanical illustration in water colour however i still searched UA-cam for artists that might inspire and now i need look no further, i found you. if you can find the equivalent to a sole mate in a painting your work is it. i watch your tutorials over and over. and the first thing i want to do afterwards is grab a canvas. i never felt this way about my work before. it feels like i finally found my self. once again thankyou so very much you are an amassing artist and teacher. kindest regards kay.🙏

I paint only till I flow and I don't think about another step. If I start to thing too much, it's time to make a brake. Beautiful work. I recommend green Frog Tape for masking. For me it's the best one I used.

Thank you so much wendy for those kind words. Yes I am using a piece of canvas from a canvas roll taped on a board. It allows me to put pressure on it without any distortion. Thanks😊❤.
What kind of gesso did you use. Can you share supply list or pics of your materials
I am using a regular gesso. As an alternative you can use modeling paste. Both will work in this case.

I use 10 Oz cotton canvas. The last bottle was a 3D cone liner, availabe in any art store. Thanks.

With modeling clay you have to use some binder otherwise it will have cracks after drying specially if working on canvas. Thanks.

What is 'J so' that you use to cover the canvas in the beginning?
Gesso is a primer or base coat of a canvas. It is easily available at art stores.

Do you have to water down the arclyic paint in a cup before you use it?
Sometimes yes, but not always necessary. We can use acrylic medium also to thin it down. So it should be according to our need. Thanks

When I apply my gesso and apply strokes and texture when it drys the gesso runs back and have less texture remain can you help ? Thank you
Yes, sometimes the gesso is not thick enough to hold the texture. In that case you can add 10%marble powder and 5% PVA glue to the gesso to thicken it up a little bit. Thank you.

Hi! Actually I don't have any particular recipe for gesso. I buy any brand and according to its consistency (in the same brand also sometimes it differs) I add either marble powder or water and definitely that's according to my need. Thanks.

What is this powder
The powder is color pigment. You can get it in any art store.
