What luck! I happened to be online to purchase acrylic paint mediums for the first time(novice painter), & was completely overwhelmed by all the mediums there are to choose from. I had no idea what to get so I decided to go on UA-cam to find a video to learn about paint mediums. I am lucky that I chose to open this video! Now I know exactly what to buy & save money in the process-I was ready to buy all the wrong things for a beginner,so thank you for the lesson.

I'm into watercolor but I'm about to start approaching some attempt of mixed media integrating a bit of white acrylic into my watercolors, and had no clue where to start because there are sooo many products.. This has been really informative for me because I love working with both oil and acrylics but my basement studio is not ventilated so I can only use acrylics there during the winter, and do my oil paints outside during the summer... so these mediums are a big help for me especially with acrylics... thank you.

This video really impresses me since I can simply comprehend what acrylic painting is. It also showed me how to use this example of a medium correctly. Since many individuals are interested in using acrylic as a medium, I think it's fascinating to see. Even though acrylic is easy to learn and quite intimidating if you already have the skills, I also learned about the basic components of acrylic painting, which include the pigments, binder, and solvent. And that's what I've learned from watching this video together.
I'm really glad I found you, I bought gesso, thinking it was a "gac" for acrylic pouring!! I'm not the brightest crayon in the box...so I,will be retiring this. However, without even knowing, I believe I,used this when coloring my casted hands. Being that I,want to,add and then wipe off mostly using the black to just use as a detain light color, oh wait. No,its glazing!! Thank you so much

By including the ingredients of paints and mediums in your explanation, you made this a very thorough and easy to understand overview.
It's also evident that you have actually used the mediums you discuss; the pros and cons of each medium are very useful.
I imagine you chose the Liquitex products for the video on account of the clear labeling across the range of products?
(e.g. 'Fluid' is always color A, 'gel' is always color B).
(Graffiti related brands (like Liquitex) are pretty sweet when it comes to packaging and color schemes, I think. I love the Montana Cans and Molotow ranges too. It's always very clear what's what)

I use white distill vinegar and honey mix with my pigments

Thank you! I ended up with fluid matte medium as I'm about to attempt a doll face repaint. Needed the paint to be matte finish but also thinner. Should work out fine if not I'll pull out the acetone and try again haha.

Thank you. I loved oil painting when I took a class years ago. But I forgot the process of cleaning the oil, the liquids to clean, disposing the oil, and all that stuff so I'm looking to get acrylic paints tomorrow instead. I wish the the slow dry medium lasted a day or two.
