  • Ready to build a bigger/thicker back - specifically those lower lats? Let’s get after it.
I started this video with the intent of hitting a full back day but realized how important it was to show some of the exercises I use to really hit those lats in a totally different way.
Let me know what you think and get after it.

True story: I was laid up and skinny AF after a bad leg break in early '17. Literally no definition anywhere. I've been exclusively using Ryan's techniques since then (after wasting some time on other workout channels). From 175lbs, up to my heaviest of my life 202 lbs, and now back down to 183 and getting teased about being a 'Roid Boy on Twitter... never touched them - the only supps I take are Syntha-6 protein and creatine, and I turn 52yo this month. Thank you Ryan, you really helped me make that "mind-muscle" connection like no one else! Keep making these great vids! 👍🏽

Nice work brother! I became an instant fan of Ryan myself. He’s straight to the point and cuts through the bull s**t like no other fitness content creator I know of. I just turned 40 this year and I shuddered at the fact, but content like Ryan’s and success stories like yours are the nudge I need every now and again to keep going and keep growing.

Here's a simple rule they gave me, if you died and no one asks the reason after learning your age then you're def old otherwise you're young. So forget the number and move, life is a gift.

For me I was loosing tension where I wanted it with heavier wieght. It's been 5 weeks and it feels good. Less joint pain and more of that sweet muscle pain.

The first guy that answered you has a great exercise. Another great forearm/wrist exercise are straight bar twists. Learned it in the boxing gym. Take a straight bar (not an Olympic straight bar) and put 5's on each side (to start). Hold the bar at groin level and twist forward for 30 seconds. Then, without a break, start twisting backwards. 1 minute total. Do that 3 times and thank me later.

Here are three Pro-mo tips I wanted to share with you on back training.
Straight arm pull downs with EZ bar and incline bench for greater ROM.
You could use a straight bar as well.
Multi tool for rows. This is incredible
bigger ROM and I can lift 20% more weight this way. Or you can use 2 single hand paddles and a chain link.
Slanted double D for pull downs and landmine rows.

It’d be cool to have a video on calves. Like how to train or how often to train them. Bc unless you do a lot of Olympic lifts or are a runner they seem to be more of an asthenic muscle

I have a hard time with building the middle of my back. Rear delts, traps, and such. A video on that would be dope. I guess I’m dominant in my lats. They put on size fine.
