Turned out great! For cutting the tops. I use a laser like you did to set the bottom marks, but then I just do the math for 1/4" per foot for the slope. Here is AZ we are mostly one man crews. We have a few ways to set the beam alone. I build my post plates on single headers and use them as a saddle for the beam. On double headers. I use a gutter stand, or build my post plates and set the beams on those and use a bar clamp to hold it while I screw it. On the lights and fan beams, we cap the top so they don't fill with water when it rains. The supplier calls them a 8" carport fascia and then are a U shape that covers everything like a hat. It turned out really nice! I'm sure the customer is thrilled.
Hi, great job. Just a little thing would be good for the electricity installation safety. I would put a rubber rings on the steel sharp edges where the cables are going out through the steel pillars or to the rooftop lights and fans. 👍
They wrapped with more electrical tape and it isn't really proper. You can see in the last minute of video the lights are cutting on and off probably due to a bad connection or short.
It may not be proper but the LEDs look like the are flickering on and off. Most likely they are not. They may look like that if the frequency of the camera frame rate and the lights are not the same.
David, Typically patio installers use industrial metal tripods to hold up the beams. They have telescoping bars with threaded rods in the middle to easily adjust the height. With two tripods, it can be a one-man job but more makes the job go faster
great job... glad its a full covered roof & not a pergola ( not a fan of those just a waste on a patio ) on a patio .....rain sun now they can sit outside
Awesome work, I installed my patio cover myself but did not installed lights/fan at the time. Do you know where I can order the flashing caps and fan beam?
What is the procedure of properly grounding the patio cover? Is it simply connecting the third wire to the ground line? What if there is no ground line from the source? thx
Do you ever use clamps when working on those post that are up high to hold like a straight edge, if working alone. edit: you answered my question 3 min later, I would of use some vise clamps they are easy to use b y yourself
That company refused to ship items due to covid restrictions. So unless you live down there or are willing to drive down and pick the kits up from their warehouse, their product is unobtainanium.
Wow, That is going to look really good with all the planter beds filled with plants, Excellent Job.

We insulated the wires heavy at those points
Yeah I was cringing a little there, I did notice the thicker insulation though. Pretty sure they make a grommet for that

For sure
How much is it?
How far apart are each row of lights? I've been reading they should be no more than 6-8 feet apart for proper coverage.
I always say the more the merrier

Aluminum
@@OdellCompleteConcrete with all do respect that don’t look like aluminum roofing you guys using lol. Looks like some type of sturdy plastic.
@@dboog225 that’s because the paint on the aluminum is heat baked like powder coating, it’s all aluminum so it will never need maintenance

Why are the lights going off and on?
camera angles make it look like the lights go off and on
Eeek that light standing proud of the perimeter of the roof.
Perfect
Just a bit of nomenclature: Fan blades, not fan wings. Wire nuts, not wire caps.

👍
Need to upgrade to aluminum fan blades. Those are gonna be saggy in a couple years
