The Great American Cooking Story is a six-episode series created over the course of a 10-day, cross-country train trip. With 5 hours or less in each city, I sought out to tell the stories of chefs and restaurant owners in revitalizing neighborhoods.

“There’s Nothing More American Than Chinatown”
Los Angeles’s Chinatown is experiencing a food revolution. Only the eateries making a name for themselves aren’t Chinese, they’re Thai, Korean, Mexican... and even Southern. In episode one of The Great American Cooking Story, I explored two of the restaurants shaping the future of L.A.’s Chinatown: The Little Jewel of New Orleans and Chimney Coffee House. Join me on my adventure of great food made with local ingredients and sold at affordable prices as I explore the role that these two restaurants are playing in Chinatown’s revitalization.

The Little Jewel has chefs with Passion. The food is PURE Heart. You can tell when you eat it, that NOTHING in there is Frozen, or from a Package. They cook everything themselves, and the consistency is nothing less then Perfection. I have not had anything from the menu that I havnt liked yet.
