Centerline only provides clearance from permanently installed objects.
If this DAL295 crew knew that the toughest problem would come later, after F3....
DAL295 quickly said, "we were on the center line...." for the upcoming investigation ...... just covering his A$$
But the instructions were: "as able".
Its not Ground's responsibility to avoid hitting an airceaft. C'mon buster
@@elunico13 Yea, DAL295 should have avoided, or stopped,. Saying you were on the centerline is not good enough. You need to know where your wings are.
Captions are off. It’s not “RV” it’s “ARFF 8”
You know there’s two channels of different audio on the one ground feed, right?
Would be great if you could start panning the audio to the correct channel otherwise there’s parts with 2 conversations on top of each other
Someone might lose his job very soon .
Or ‘her’ job.
@@sammyday3341 The controller won't be at fault. She had no way of knowing that the CRJ stopped so far back as to interfere with the taxiway. It would have been up to DAL 295 to stop before hitting the other plane. Saying you were on centerline is not a good enough excuse.
Thank you very much!🙂👍 - The question is what problem had Delta 295 to deal with? Maybe it explains why they ran into Endeavor 5526.
What I wouldn't give to hear the conversation between that guy and his chief pilot...

I understand the CRJ was sitting back from the hold line at least 35+- ft.
Saw a video on that.

1:47 ATC clearly said "line up and wait", EDV5526 stayed there, so far seems like it was the CRJ mistake
In no way is this a CRJ mistake. Another plan literally hit them while they were sitting short of the runway.
@@sparty2able... ATC said "as able"
@@sparty2able Its quite clear in the audio, They shouldn't have been there, the controller told them to line up and wait on the runway in view of the approaching A350, they didn't move, thus ignoring the ATC order.
@@manuelhenao8453 I can’t tell if you’re not an airline pilot or trolling me. Either way, I appreciate your opinion.
@@manuelhenao8453 Maybe, there could've been static on the frequency or two people calling at once. Just because the call was made doesn't mean it was received.
Here's your cup.
Why is everybody talking over everybody else? What kind of chaos is this? NO radio discipline at all at this bloody airport...
There will be an investigation. My guess is the A350 pilot (who is probably a senior pilot) will be offered a chance to retire (and maybe the FO) depending on what the investigation turns up and this whole situation will quietly go away. Listening to what “UA-cam comment experts” on who is “at fault” is pointless.
IDK if it's just me but the ground controller lady sounds very similar to the Las Vegas tower controller that became incapacitated while on duty about 5 years ago. Could she be the same person? Not much is know what happened to her afterward, so she may be able to continue working, as a ground controller.
I would be shocked if someone could ever get a medical back after suffering a stroke on the job.
Conspiracy theorist much?
ATC mistake. Delta on ground and Endeavour on tower. Of course you would need to see where the airplanes are in real time to know if the Delta crew could still the CRJ or if they were too far forward to see them, which you can't tell from this video.
Delta's mistake. ATC told Delta to proceed on the taxiway AS ABLE. The CRJ was in plain sight of the Delta right until they passed by and their right wing clipped their tail.
The Delta crew either misjudged their wingspan, or erroneously expected the CRJ to move.
@@DS-zj4xy They had to deal with a problem just before the incident and asked Ground to hold. So it´s unclear what exactly went on in this very moment. We´ll have to wait for the investigation - it´s much too early to blame anyone in this case.
@@DS-zj4xy You can't tell from the animation if the Delta pilots could see the CRJ or not.
@@Boodieman72They had just been following it as instructed.
They should have seen it turn off in front of them.
To presume it managed to get out of thier way is questionable.

It may be significant that the Heavy was "working an issue". The FO could have been distracted, and didn't notice the RJ hadn't pulled up all the way. Same thing happened to the AA jet that crossed an active runway; The FO was busy doing required paperwork, so they didn't notice when the Captain taxied the wrong way.
NOTE…. The co-pilot was responsible to clear that wing.
Lately the co-pilots are barely pilots.

That female traffic controller is to blame for the collision!!!! She’s awful! She must be a DEI hire!
derp.
Don't be an idiot. She is in the tower, and cannot see how close these aircraft are to one another. How the hell would she know the CRJ didn't pull all the way up? DAL295 literally taxied into another aircraft. They should have maneuvered around or stopped. Would you drive your car into another car blocking an intersection just because the green light told you to go? Seriously.
