Really thorough review; great stuff!! I hope to add one of these to my collection soon, although admittedly those dust specks on the dial give me pause, as they would bug me every time I looked at it (I can’t “unsee” things like that). Still, it’s definitely a looker and the price is right. Appreciate your in depth review!!
The Knight’s Watch my 1964 came in the mail today. Just wondering.. does the sapphire coated crystal reflect more of a blue hue on the 1964 than on the 1962? My 1962 doesn’t have any color to it, but my 1964 looks blue when the light hits it at a certain angle
David Stefanowicz too my eyes the 1962 doesn’t have any noticeable hue to the AR but the 64 definitely did. I dig the lack of a third color. Keeps the monochrome.
To be fair, calling it an homage to the speedmaster is almost unfair. I would argue its an almost perfect homage to the universal geneve nina ridnt (where the color options came from) moreso than a speedy. Dan has great taste in vintage homages!
Jesse VanDellen i completely agree. I saw the universal Geneva after I made the video and found it is pretty darn close to that watch. Obviously the subdials play on Rolex Daytona models but I agree very close to ug.
The release of the Swatch Speedmaster really only makes me love the DH 1962 that much more. For the same price, you can get this greatly done homage to a Speedmaster, or a plasticy Swatch with the Omega logo thrown on it. One's a good value and one's overpriced. I know which one I'm choosing.
YOUSEF GEORGE for me it’s either the panda 1962 or any of the Bicompax 1964. I really like the bracelet on the 64 and the 1962 has a cooler lug style. Can’t go wrong with either.
I’m pretty sure it is, the movement between this and the date model are the same so I doubt he engineered the movement specifically to accommodate a no date. Don’t have the watch anymore but other reviews may tell you.
nice but too small..38mm for a men's chrono watch is too little. it should be 40 or 42. it has the measures of the omega speedmaster reduced, that costs an half of the professional because nobody want a speedmaster of 38mm :-) :-)
@@theknightswatch sure everyone prefer different sizes. it was only my opinion,'cause in my mind there are these beliefs: 34-36-38 women/40-42-44 mens/46-47 complexes of inferiority :-) :-)
Difference between 38 and 40 is not that substantial. I would probably prefer this at 40 but hardly a deal breaker, while 38 is more close to the vintage heritage Dan Henry strives for.
The HM hands reduce the readability of the subs. The HM hand should be as narrow as possible. Chronos don't need or benefit from broad hands. It's a tool of measurement. I love this watch but key design error. No reviewer has yet brought this to light.
Very good point but honestly I have never used a chrono and I don’t think many have. It’s just a functional accessory to a watch. Overall the design looks good as a while even though they may not be in perfect harmony from a practical standpoint. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Not a design mistake, it is based on univeral geneve compax. If you want readibility get an omega speedy or many other chronos but no one buys chronos for usage, it is almosg purely aesthetic. And these bulky hands are fantastic they add masculinity to the watch which imo is what chronos do well as well as divers.
***Man's watch on a lady's strap*** I just recv'd my Dan Henry 1962 and although it is a somewhat decent watch, it is small. The area exposed inside the lugs look not finished and is the hallmark of a cheaply made case. Then there's the strap! Appalling to the point I can't wear it without feeling I am wearing my wife's watch. The strap tappers too much to the point that it feels like a child's toy watch and looks very small. Not a great feeling wearing it on the wrist. Too expensive to ship back so...
Great review as always! Honestly you deserve a lot more subscribers, keep up the work!
CJ thank you I appreciate it! Maybe one day :)

Damion Berv thanks! And ya I get you. The specks are not even close to noticeable unless you’re at a macro level. Either way good watch
Great in depth review. I just purchased a 1964.
Thank you hope you enjoy it. The 64 is a great one.
I went for the same panda 1962 and I just ordered the evil panda 1964. Thanks for the great reviews!
The macro shots were real nice to see when deciding on my purchase
David Stefanowicz thank you! Glad I could help.

@@daviewavie112 that's because the 1962 doesn't have a sapphire coating, unlike the 1964.
Here from your post on Reddit. Awesome reviews lad! :)
Dodo thank you!

@@theknightswatch Cheers sir! Completely agree on the square subdial markers being daytonaesque.

Where did you get that rubber strap? It looks awesome.
Thanks it’s from archer straps on amazon
Great review man!
Detailed and professional review, thanks! I agree with CJ.
Not sure if you mentioned it, but is that a barton strap?
Johan Furre thank you I really appreciate it :) it is actually an archer silicone strap. They I think are better than barton, at least on this model.
@@theknightswatch :) Ah ok, looking for straps for the panda now hehe, thanks
Johan Furre glad i could help!
Ik this is late, but do you like the 1964 or the 1962 better?

The Knight’s Watch , Yeah I like the 64 bracelet but I think I’ll go with the 62, thanks so much for replying, I appreciate it
YOUSEF GEORGE of course. Enjoy the watch and thanks for watching!
What’s your wrist size?
White Mail Privilege I have a 6.5 inch wrist which is around 52mm across the top
Ngl, 10/10. I Stan.
Desiree M haha thanks!
i keep trying to catch a buzz from quartz but can't. speedmaster automatic. now thats intoxicating......
anthony nervine ya quartz isn’t for everyone. But the new speedy autos are really something to look at!
is there a ghost date on this?
I’m pretty sure it is, the movement between this and the date model are the same so I doubt he engineered the movement specifically to accommodate a no date. Don’t have the watch anymore but other reviews may tell you.

wicker i would take a 38 speedmaster in a heartbeat, I don’t like the way the 42 wears. Everyone prefers different sizes
@@theknightswatch sure everyone prefer different sizes. it was only my opinion,'cause in my mind there are these beliefs: 34-36-38 women/40-42-44 mens/46-47 complexes of inferiority :-) :-)
wicker ya I get you, find it unfortunate that the industry has tended to label anything under 40mm as ladies. I prefer 34-38 personally.
@@calcateo you realize the most common sizes for mens watches of this time period were 30-38mm correct? My 1969 Rolex is a perfect 34mm.

To me, a strap that comes with a watch doesn't carry much weight in its review (until you get into a much higher price bracket, that is).
