I have a older Word but did not realize these features are there. They are like the old Microsoft Publisher I used to have but lost when I was scammed into upgrading for free to Windows 7. They didn't say you would lose other window programs that cam installed with my computer. Thanks much!
That was awesome! It's amazing all of the things in Word that are at my fingertips. You walked me through each process effortlessly. You don't go too fast, which allowed me to follow each step. How I wish I'd known about the canvas technique before now! I owned a small business making flyers, business cards & ads. I've made at least 200 projects w/o using that feature & had to jiggle & format the artwork to achieve the look I wanted. I always managed to get a polished look, but I'm pretty sure I had to work a little harder for it than I needed to! This is just in time for me as I am starting a new job in June. I'll practice at home till then. You're a good instructor. Thanks!

@NaturalBeautiMe So when you insert a picture, once inserted... 1. Click on the picture, then "right-click" to show the shortcut menu. 2. Select the Menu Item "Format Picture". Then, select the "Layout" tab. 3. Once selected, for "Wrapping Style" choose the option, "In Front Of Text". This should make the picture freely move around the canvas.
I have been looking for a simple way to make a flyer w/o having to download all this new software. Thank you for FINALLY showing me what I have been looking for! 😁 Can't wait to start on my first flyer using this method. Thank you! -Michele

First, find out what file format Craig's list wants the flyer to be in (PDF?, JPG?) In Word 2007 or 2010 you can save as a pdf. Once the flyer is in PDF format, you can convert it it to whatever image file format that you need, such as jpg, png, etc. You just have to make sure you have a program that can convert the pdf to an image file. You can google "Convert pdf to jpg" and some options should show up.
Thanks...the only issue i am having is that i not able to figure out how to stretch the borders of the flyer to extend approximately 1/4 inch from top and side borders...there is like an near an inch of space on each side and about 4 inches of space from top to bottom...wonder what i am doing wrong??

You should make a video on how to make a flyer, but this time with cutout tabs. Now a days people do not carry pen, pencil or paper. So by putting your phone number on a cutout tab, all they do is take their cutout tab with your number on it, and they can call you when they have time. If possible can you make the video on how to create that type of a flyer on word and not excel if possible.
For Craigslist I save my flyer image and upload it to Photobucket . com and then copy the HTML format of the picture and paste it into my ad. Make sure you delete the Photobucket link in the html text. It'll you'll see the website address. Just delete the link in the HTML and leave nothing in it. You can google how to make an image into a link using HTML and so if someone clicks your flyer it'll take them to your website, facebook, blog ect.
