Check out youtube for Yori Nakamura's Submission Basic Combination 1 from 1980s, where he's showing Karl Gotch's basic Catch wrestling lockflow from 1950s. You'll see these same sequences, including the "Separation" (highlight move). It's really cool to see how great minds spread far across time still think alike. 🤯
I’ve always found it interesting how different people will discover the same things. It’s actually obvious why… because it works, however it’s still fascinating to me.
Yes!!! i watched your videos about stapling that arm, and moving into that (almost north south) pin from there.. Im a sub par grappler compared to good grapplers, but this stuff makes you a menace to anyone else.
You have to make like 30 mistakes back to back to ever end up here. If you're here, instead of worrying about the escape, go back to step one work on not getting there
@@ModernBladesmith i mean in terms of if you happened to be in the crucifix, they happen in the ufc so who am i to say it wont happen to me yea? Im just trying to get my defense down pack before i start investing in an offense & this position is on my bucket list
@BBQMikeD work on framing, controlling inside space, limiting grips, and guard retention first. Just tap to the sub. You're going to use those to escape all submissions anyway.
@@ModernBladesmith i get that, im not tapping to chokes unless i have no option & im not risking my bones at all. Ill get to frames & such when its necessary but i dont intend to specialize in bjj bc theres too many variables (outside a controlled setting) to make it a trump card so my focus for now is to get back up & what im looking for in a submission. Idc about guard passing & such, just the positions im vulnerable in & how to get out including: [this leads into that & u dont want that so do this]
Thank you Coach. Just what I needed . Stylish pants btw.

I expected to see u being first 😂

Cool stuff! The staple of the oppt is key and then "paper" cutter, or as it's known in bjj "bread" cuttter..... Good stuff!!! TY!!!
Love you Coach! THX for everything!

If you have that giftwrap with the high underhook and he brings that hand in, pushing his wrist away will give you a one arm americana.
Great!
Got any secrets for getting the nearside arm out to begin with?
It’s at the beginning of the video! Also you can look at yesterday’s video and that has it as well. I call it “killing the hips”.
Is there a way out or do you just die?

Just put your left hand in your crutch... this magically cancels these kinds of attack - cheers 🤙
