The nuts guy didn't scam you, the cost of 1 KG is 280 Egyptian Pounds and he gave you some nuts with 25 pounds then he told you he needs another 5 and you didn't get him so he said it's OK and welcome to Egypt as a present

That area you were in called Atabba, and the catchu nuts are expensive, so he didn't scam you if it was catchu nuts, on the contrary he gave you 5 Pounds discount.
