No PS5 here. I grew up with a PS1, PS2 and PS3. Still have my 60gb PS3 which can play PS1 and PS2 discs without issues today. Skipped out on the PS4 and went strictly PC gaming back in 2013. Reason why? I don't wanna pay for online gaming which the PS4 and PS5 makes you do. Not to mention games like HZD, God of War, Spider-man are on PC with more exclusives coming, I'm not missing out. All the Xbox games since the XB1 have been on PC day 1. I am not crying myself to sleep because I can't play God of War Ragnarok day 1 when I already have a bunch of great games to play on PC. If it comes later cool, if not cool. Also my PC in the living room is set up as a console hooked up to my LG CX. Press the controller button on and it fires up straight into Steam Big Picture mode from boot and it never sees the Windows desktop environment.
I've been lucky enough to enjoy my PS5 since launch and I've been absolutely loving it. Also great way to fix the glossy plastic scratching issues is to get a matte black dbrand skin. Looks awesome with the red face plates!
I was wowed by the PS5 the first few months, then kinda left it on the shelf for the last year after the initial impression because I prefer playing on PC. Lately though with the PC hardware market I'm considering fully transition to PS5 and stop upgrading my PC. I will miss the controller customization and modding but other features on PS5 like the dual sense can make up for it.
i had a beast of a pc but i sold it for console and my main reason comfort and spacing my room. With on console you can lay in your bed and play the game and with a pc you need a desk chair etc. Only thing what i enjoyed having pc is multi task and my performance aswell. After having 1,5 year pc and now having a console best thing what i could do and i enjoy my games much more than on a pc.

@@eronkryeziu2524 yes it is a huge upgrade from the ps4, the graphics are a big difference, it’s quiet unlike the ps4, loading times for games are way faster, doesn’t have weird lag spikes from graphics loading in like old gen, and i can go on, but it’s definitely worth it

@@user-ml9iz Exactly, and they go for 550-600 I believe. Perfectly reasonable, I actually got the Horizon bundle recently for 600 plus tax. Console is 500, controller is 50, and the game is 60. Makes sense to me anyway.
@@3godzilla3 i got the digital gow bundle because i don’t really use disc, saved an extra 100, and shipping was free for me so it was $460 all in, but crazily the regular one without the bundle is still more expensive, $480 on stockx + there 10% shipping fee, so bundles are still cheaper, doesn’t make that much sense

I remember the first year it was very difficult to get a PS5. Fast forward, now I can find a lot of them in retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart. I brought my PS5 from GameStop two days ago l. So far I’m enjoying it.
Im a pc gamer, and I was open to buying a ps5 for the opportunity to go back and play the backlog of ps4 exclusives, as well as new exclusives, of course. But because so many of the games I wanted to play were released on pc, I find very little reason to buy one now. By the end of the console generation, I'm probably gonna have like 8 games total.
To be honest, I haven’t seen a jaw dropping difference between my PS5 and PS4 Pro. I have a 4K TV w HDR and all the goodies and no I can’t call it a huge jump. Just an incremental upgrade. Unless as you said, they develop full blown PS5 game.
same here, I had an option to buy ps5 several times over the last year but I decided to stay with my PS4 Pro as the upgrade isn't SO huge that would make it worth it for me. I'll just stick with my good old PS4 Pro until PS5 Slim or even the Pro version gets released.
It's always towards the later years of a console which is when games become noticably more nicer though tbf we're at that stage where we can't much better other than the shadow and lighting reflections everywhere
Same, resolution is a little better but the main difference I've noticed is a more seamless performance from games. Less bugs, lag, framerate drops etc...

I got my hands on a PS5 back in August of 2022 thanks to an Amazon (US) lottery. Since then, I have barely used my Series X. I enjoy both consoles greatly, but the PS5 feels more decidedly "Next Gen" to me -- the Dual Sense alone is a huge boon. I'm sure that things will switch a bit as Gamepass Day 1 stuff drops, but man do I enjoy that PS5 -- Ragnarok alone was worth the purchase.

For someone that games for short duration at a time, usually between other tasks, I feel the shorter load times definitely are worth the upgrade. With my PS4 I found myself basically waiting for most of my 30 minute breaks rather than game.

I had an Xbox series x but sold it recently to get a ps5 and I'm loving it so far my favourite thing about the ps5 is the controller I love the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers but I heard that having the controller speaker on and mic makes the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers weaker when playing games is this true?
Just got a PS5 last week as a gift. Playing GOW Ragnarok and Spider-Man. Absolutely beautiful. Ray tracing was something I never knew I needed. Cheers.
GOW ragnarok is one of the best games and reason to buy a PS5 imo I agree. i'm surpised too by this game
I literally just got my PS5 in this morning from the local USPS. I cant wait to get home and play it after work. It can join both my PC and my Xbox series X as battlestations that I can never wait to use.

I got one early release , I was very lucky because I actually participated in a lottery to get the buying right . I really love the load time and the games looks really nice . Dual sense is also a nice feature.
as an intense CoD player.. Ppl telling u hv to turn off adaptive triggers in games like CoD is a total bull 💩.. my KD in cold war is 1.67 with Adaptives on... I bet this guy can't do 💩 against me in CoD even with adaptive triggers off... Adaptive triggers adds such an immersive layer to da gameplay.. & in no way interferes with your skills.. it's just shameful to advise otherwise only cus u didn't get use to it as u switched that feature off instantly

Having a PS4 is definitely a reason as to why I have not yet gotten a PS5, Basically like what you said having decent graphics and still getting the story and enjoying the game for just what it is, is enough. I have been saving for a PS5 for quite a while now. I was ready to put down the money as well however, as the rumor of another PS5 variant it makes me want to wait more just to see what the new variant will bring external and internal, at the same time though, if the original PS5 was hard to get (still is), then I assume the new variant will also be difficult to get my hands on. I am split 50/50 on whether to wait until April for (dead island 2) or the announcement/release of a new variant of the PS5 if there is one.
Final Fantasy XVI is going to be immersive, which is solely why I purchased a PlayStation 5 along with an LG G1. I’m so glad I did. Beating Final Fantasy VII Remake on it was unprecedentedly mind-blowing. The graphics were visually stunning like never before.

Great information as usual! I have the PS4 play mostly sports and open world games. I am waiting for a price drop... I do love the ps4 games that I play but having the upgrade would be good too..thoughts?
I upgraded from my ps4 in August. Must say just the quality of life improvements have been worth it for me so far. Could I have done without it and just stuck to my PS4? Yes it would have been fine. Do I want a great gaming experience yes so I got it. Upgraded my TV in 2020 in preparation for getting a PS5 so it all worked out for me. Waited a bit longer to get the console but im okay with that.
Best game for me on PS5 so far is Returnal did went into it blind not knowing much about the game and it surprised me. Still to play Ragnarok and forbidden west. I will wait for Ragnarok to go on sale and still to redeem Forbidden west from the bundle I bought but after playing Ghost of Tsushima and now getting back into Elden Ring, im going to be taped out on open world stuff.

I just got a 1440p 165hz monitor and I couldn't be happier playing on 120fps on supported games and the higher resolution. The TV I was playing on was a 65 inch 1080p.
I am mainly a PC gamer and recently bought a PS5 due to exclusives. After playing GoW Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima and Horizon FW, I can say it is 100% worth it.

Loving my PS5! I upgraded last Christmas from the PS4 and I’ve really enjoyed it all year. Great performance, much quieter and I like the controller improvements.
My son has the Xbox series X and I also much prefer the menu interface on the PlayStation.

I think the loading times really make a huge difference. I played the first area of ER on PS4 before I got my PS5. And the loading was non existent. Also fan noise was no longer a thing.

My Tv does 4K HDR but not VRR or 120hz refresh rate and the upgrade from a ps4 pro is very noticeable. Ray tracing, maxed out draw distances and being true 4k is something I was looking forward to and please I recently spent the cash on it. Great buy.
Honestly , Everybody remembers waking up early on a school day to play fortnite or any other game really in 2018 - 2019 . What really broke my heart is they removed communities. I wanna go back to 2018 and 2019 and stay forever A. W times . I could remember playing with friends meeting people , A memory stuck in my head forever

Hi tom can you do a review on the lenovo "82r1005huk" as you can see it has a uk model number bought one a few days ago but its so cheap and such high specs there must be a catch somewhere and also can you find out if you can upgrade the ram .The 82lx0050us with intel has a spare slot to do this .if it is true then this laptop is the ideal present for alle students on budget in the uk .Thanks Ben

It's still extremely hard to get a PS5 in Germany. I ordered an Xbox series S and it's arriving on Monday and I'll use that until I can get a PS5. A video like this on the series S would be lovely Tom!

I live in the United States. I bought a Series S as well since PS5 is infinitely out of stock.
I signed up to be notified and got my hands on one a few months ago. I will sell it after I finish Ragnarok though. PC is much better value for me personally, especially now that GPUs are becoming affordable again. You can get a very capable used PC similar in performance for ~600€ on Ebay.

It actually was yesterday for me! I love my PC but those PS exclusives just look incredible. That combined with the Dualsense and having a 120Hz VRR OLED TV made me pull the trigger for Christmas 🎄😁

I’ve had mine for a year and a half and one of the greatest part of must have been the very fact of been able to find one when it was sold out in almost every store.
Definitely Horizon Forbidden West and Rachel & Clank Rift Apart are 2 of my top games on the PS5 right now, both are must play. Also, when I 1st got my PS5 I would toddle playing between both the PS4 Pro and PS5. As soon as I bought a 1 TB SSD (should be one of the 1st accessories you buy for PS5 btw!) I uploaded games like Jedi: Fallen Order, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man & RDR 2 among others. That is when I noticed the difference in much smoother gameplay running such games at locked 60FPS. I suddenly felt I went from apprentice to Master in my Jedi skills as my gameplay was more fluid and I really tore thru my second play through of Fallen Order on my PS5. 50 hit combos on Spider-Man are buttery smooth to execute and the motion Blur I would see from time to time on RDR 2 on my PS4 Pro was now gone on the PS5. Then there was Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut on PS5! This is how you are suppose to play Ghost of Tsushima! Plays, looks and sounds amazing (just need some kind of upgraded sound system like at least a 3.1 or a great set of headphones.) So as good as the new shiny PS5 games are don't neglect a 2nd play through of some amazing PS4 titles and see how much better they and you play!!!!
I think I just got lucky, happen to pop into my local game and it was one the few occasions they had both 1 physical and 1 digital in stock, got the disc version, they just had stock tricking in every so often. I completely skipped the PS4/Xbox One generation of consoles.
RE Physical Discs, not just second market, I've seen some amazing prices on occasions. Managed to Purchase Rachet & Clank Rift Apart for £15 at Asda when its still going for near full price in Game today. I think it does open up more choices for purchases.
The highest tier of PS Plus does seem to get the short straw these days.
Kinda tempted to get one now that they're available for sale. But idc much about fps or resolution. It'd be nice but til there's some exclusives, I think I should save my money. Plus I wanna wait for a slim

There have been alot more PS5’s lately. I’ve helped my friend get one and our local target and wal-mart had a good amount in stock. We ended up going to PC Richard’s and got the GOW bundle there because it was the closest store we could bust a move too. Finally lightening up

I actually kind of regret buying mine at a marked up price last year seeing how easy it is to get them now . I waited till February and couldn’t get my hands on one at regular price so I gave in and bought it for almost double the price . Although I had lots of fun playing it and am getting the new vr for it .
The sale shotrages cost them millions which is quite sad they needed to create like 30 million units.i had a ps4 for almost ten years, buying games that would cost me 95 dollars each from the store would cost me 30 dollars from stores literally the best decision to buy a physical copy
Yup for me I’m not dropping $70+ on a digital edition never gonna happen I only ever buy digital games when they are on sale or I get them free with PSPLUS

The biggest misses on PS5 is the storage,
I've had mine since Jan 2021 and have been impressed with its exclusives such as Ratchet & Clank and Returnal, especially the latter use of the Dual Sense controller. Also a bit disappointed but not surprised in some ways as many games are still cross-gen titles; although as you said having the SSD finally in a games console is excellent.
Even though more fiddly in comparison to the Series X to expand; Sony allowing off-the-shelf (providing it meets spec requirements) versions of expandable storage has been great for the consumer; as their price has dropped once Sony enabled the slot.
The huge fan has been another blessing, as I recall playing The Last of Us 2 and Spider-Man on my PS4; it was sooo loud and I had cleaned it out.
I'd say Returnal is its best game, as it is not a sequel to anything and is at time of writing a PS5 exclusive. It is good but tough

Shitty games arcade kid games... comparing to PS4 when it had exclusives such as: God of War, Uncharted, TLoU 1/2 etc... now most of those games are on PC or soon to be realised to PC.

There's no merit to buying PS5 anymore more so now that cost of pc's is declining. And the best part is you can actually buy it. I lost interest in consoles now that there's no more time to play but it would have been great if I could buy it when it came out when I had the most time.
A gpu alone still costs around as much as a console. There’s a million reasons to still own a console otherwise everybody would be on pc.
The PS5 is one of my favorite video game consoles of all time, been gaming on console since the N64, yet the PS5 feels like the absolute perfect console, the dualsense, games, fun factor all are incredible , Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West are my favorite games 👏👏👏

I’ve had my ps5 for a little over a year, I got ragnarok for Christmas and I can already confidently say that it is my favourite game I’ve played on ps5 so far!
One thing I really wish my Series X had that the PS5 has is an internal m.2 for upgradable storage. The proprietary seagate expansion card is highway robbery.

Im getting a digital ps5 console next month on my bday, August 10th... I have one external hardrive with ps4 games on it but I'm going to be using the same account as my ps4 so I'll just download the 60+ games I have in my library

I love 60 fps and fast loading times. But, still waiting for those next (current?) gen games to blow my mind with visuals and gameplay.

I saved up £650 which was initially going to be towards a gaming PC but last week i thought you know what there is no way im getting a pc that does what ps5 does so i went and bought god war of edition ps5 disc version and spiderman miles morales.
Ive gamed for 33 years now and i can honestly say this is the best console of all time without a question. Graphics are simply beautiful, system runs superbly and the controller is lush.
I honestly dont know if ill go on my Xbox Series S now because it pales in comparison. The PS5 has given me so much joy over christmas so far ive never stopped smiling.

I just got a 2nd hand PS5 and I am loving it. I am playing Cyberpunk 2077 patched rn and it is great. I have Elden Ring, Death stranding DC and Ghost of Tsushima DC coming. My first playstation since my trusty PSP. I am coming from a nintendo switch but ngl, my kids play that way more than me.
It's a great console with undoubtedly the better exclusives right now, no doubt, but the ecosystem is so crazy expensive now. The games, extra controllers, are just so pricey. I would love to play God of War: Ragnarok but it's hard to justify having it in addition to my XBOX/GamePass just for a few games. Hopefully it comes to PC like the first one did, otherwise I might spring for a pre-owned PS4 at some point.
The fact that it has the better exclusives doesn't make it a console worth buying, they could easily put them on the ps4, they just don't to market the ps5.
I've got ps 5 premium for 60 bucks in january for whole year and the only titles I really bought outside of that for ps5 are elden ring, ragnarok, last of us 2, hitman trilogy and I got ratchet and clank to the console. I own console for year and a half lol I play also on my gaming pc because you can get titles for like half the price and I use my pc for work anyway so I don't regret 1300 bucks into it. 80 for games that are really lacking in quality and optimization is overkill. I would say 40 is top I am willing to pay for games I like.
Quite the dilemma, either pay full price for good games or pay a small fee to play mediocre ones

@@pritok6 compared to the 1 at best on xbox, I still play Horizon 5, that came out years ago and there hasn't been anything new, unless you count Redfall ugh
0:37 god of war games are the first reason for me to buy a playstation, like buying PS3 for GOW3, ascension, gow 1a2 collection and ghost of Sparta and chane of Olympus collection, playing 3 months this serial, that was good time

In terms of subs between PS+ vs GamePass, at least PS offers annual subs which works out cheaper. But I like that GP enables you to play on mobile phones independently, whilst PS remote play is a bit clunky.
There is no way for me to get the PS5 in it’s current hardware form and shape. I will get it once the slim version arrives alongside Spidey2

I have both and play ps5 more , I can also switch off crossplay on call of Duty ps5 which is a big plus for me. Glad we got 1440p finally
loads of them in Canada now in stores. I just bought the PS5 (March 23/ 2023) with the new God Of War 2 game with CD slot for $650 Canadian ($455 US) . A pile of ps5 box were on the floor at "The Source."and "Best Buy"
Get the CD slot version ps5 so you can buy used bargain bin ps4 games like my Red Dead 2 CD for $10.
Numerous reasons I am leaning towards getting a 5 and not a series x is due to mainly the no need to connect to internet out of the box. I recently upgraded homes, and my internet provider has not reached having services in my area so I am really going towards ps5. No nonsense. Just take it out and play.
In my home country, Ghana it’s currently retailing at $697 - $900. Just insane!

The last 2 years felt like there are no games for both consoles. I played more PS4 and Xbox One when they came out than I did with the PS5 and Series X.
with that kind of graphics, it's 10x harder than making a blockbuster Movie.
seems like this gave Nintendo an upperhand in the console war,
because Nintendo games didn't need bleeding edge graphics, and was easier to develop
@@jensenraylight8011 That's not necessarily true. Developers are still making cross-gen games, in which the graphics have to highly reduced to run on the old consoles. When developers finally stop caring about Xbox One and PS4, we will finally see some exclusives. Hopefully.

Graphics is nothing without a good Model,
Making the game assets itself is one of the hardest and most time consuming part.
what people didn't know is that, the character and monster in the game is modelled and sculpted manually by hand, every hair, pore, muscle, vein, is sculpted one by one by hand
even modeling and sculpting a somewhat realistic human models take time, and not every 3d artists have the skills required do that.
it took an average 1-3 months to create a realistic human character from scratch.
from modeling, sculpting, texturing, rigging, adding facial expression. not to mention animating it
not to mention in most games there are ton of high complexity model like dragon, zombie, mythical creatures, that took forever to finish
creating a good model is hard regardless of AAA game or not.
while nintendo game on the other hand took a different approach, they use a stylistic character, somewhat more cartoony, it's significantly easier to create
it took 1 months to 2 months to create a stylistics character from scratch

@@jensenraylight8011 I never said making a game wasn't difficult. I said, the reason there isn't many next gen exclusives is because devs are still making cross-gen games.
So far the best games I played are GOW on PS5 & Elden Ring on XSX …. It has been 2yrs … need more AAA games running 4K @ 60Hz

My nicest gripe about my PS5 is the controller battery life. Even with all the bells and whistles turned off I'm lucky to get a couple of days whereas my Xbox elite lasts at least a week per charge.
Was looking guards to the new PS controller but the battery life on that is reported to be even worse
just get a dock charger and put it there every night before bed. long as i do that it never dies, and just in case i have a charger on my couch incase it ever does die. it's not a big deal at all

my main problem with the ps5 is corruption data on some games I own. You loss every save once you close the game. Nothing changed in the last years. I started to paranoid if that would happen to other games I might buy.

I'm holding off on buying a PS5 only because great games still come to the PS4. Plus the PS4 is still a great console with games i need to catch up on to play. So for me there's no need to spend that much money for a new console when i have tons of games i still want to play. Even when online gets turned off, I'll still be playing the games that require you to not be online. And there's a lot of great games that require you to not be online. The only reason I will be getting a PS5 is if there's a game that comes out that is PS5 exclusive that I just got to have.
