I kind of like the PlayStation 2 logo popping up when you play a game from that generation on new gear.
He didn't complain about the logo being there, he used it as evidence that it is running an emulator, which means it can easily run any game but Sony chooses to lock it up.

Just got my PS5 today.
Fuck man, this thing _screams._ No joke. I’ve even yet to play a dedicated PS5 game and the feeling of next gen is huge. It’s just snappy quick in everything it does. Switching between games is a matter of seconds. What I love most so far is how cohesive it all feels to an overall PlayStation experience, and my PS4 is completely unneeded now.
I’m highly impressed by this system. It’s a pleasure to play and was 100% worth it.

Astro’s playroom is a surprise hit. They made such great use of the dual sense controller. The first the time adaptive triggers kicked was super fun.
I enjoyed it as well, even though it eats up the DualSense controller’s battery like Pac-Man at a farmers market. All the vibrations from the controller and no way to turn them off really ate up the battery.

Linus always praises xbox without telling the bad parts but on ps5 he says 2-3 minor positive things and starts to bash all possible negative things and alo magnifies many of them.

I got the pulse 3D headset, and it’s amazing on the ps5. It honestly sounds better than Dolby atmos. Also Linus is right; the ps5 is a perfect companion for pc gamers. You can play games that your pc can’t get, and they run very smooth. Plus the exclusives are amazing.

And sure, it'll be nice to have, one day, when all the features are released or there's an upgraded pro version.

For me it’s absolutely worth it for 500 and I don’t mean in a hypothetic way based on numbers or general opinion, I mean it as someone who actually owns and plays the console. Now I dot mean that everyone should rush and try to get one, right now there’s only a few games that take any advantage of its capabilities and it’ll be a while before games are designed with the new consoles in mind rather than focus on compatibility with older consoles.

@@erfannomore2828 the original models can support ps2, they have all the ps2 hardware internally. The model from the metal gear solid bundle used to be able to support ps2 but it was partial emulation and it no longer works.

Bugsnax actually has an incredible story attached to it. I can tell you guys didn’t bother playing it past an hour.
They were not really reviewing the game itself, but how it is on next gen hardware. For a launch title, it does not really take advantage of the new hardware and is just kind of boring compared to the other games.

How I judge it: Will there be games out for only ps5 that I'm highly interested in, then I'll buy it, but I'll wait until then.
I really like my friend's metric for buying a new console, or PC upgrade. Once there are 10 or more games you want for it, then it's a good time to buy/upgrade.
I recently built a new PC based on that (still need a GPU), including recent/upcoming games like CP2077 or games that ran poorly on my current gaming laptop. I think with the limited exclusive launch titles on PS5/XBsX it may be hard to get 10, but wanting more FPS and Faster load times on your backlog, 10+ may be easy to hit. If I get a PS5 it won't be until Horizon Forbidden West comes out, but even then there may not be 10+ titles I want on PS5, since many will come to PC. With Gamepass I don't need an XBsX.

Not me. I like narrative driven games. I want the story to have a beginning, middle, and most importantly, an _end._
I don't want new content in the same game.
I don't mind a sequel here and there, but the best stories stand by themselves. If you want to keep having 12 year olds scream racial slurs in your ears while playing the new cod or fortnite online, good for you. But some of us want a narrative. And narratives have an ending.
And yes, this does relate to what you said. These types of games wouldn't survive a subscription model. In fact, they're dying even now. Which is sad. All we are going to have left is fortnite.
At least there are a bajillion snes and ps1 games I haven't played yet.

Just like books, narrative driven games don't do well with a service because you can't sell loot boxes. Or shark cards. Or whatever they sell to keep making money over and over. It wouldnt work in uncharted 4. Because the game ends.

I think that reactive force trigger system would be a great GT7 feature. Imagine FEELING the pulsing of antilock brakes in the trigger, or having a traction-control system that actively prevented you from pushing the accelerator when doing so would spin the drive wheels.
Imagine paying $70 for GT7 then FEELING pressure of micro transactions or not being able to play the game offline. 😞

Bugsnax is baby’s first point and click adventure game without the “point and click.”
It’s not a bad game, but if you are more experienced in the genre I’d recommend other games for story and others for puzzles.

And on top of all that ive always played gran turismo and its infinitely better than forza strictly with the replayability/rpg kind of gameplay by being able to tune my cars in anyway i want. Fun is subjective. Quality of games between xbox vs sony is not. Xbox hasnt made a game comparable in quality to any sony first party since like ever. Theres only ever been 3 games that are synonymous with xbox and i just explained why they dont stack up against the competition

Halo is looking to be excellent in the upcoming version (who is being made by one of the creators of bungie and halo), fable is coming being made by one of microsofts best studios. you have games that will be coming from developers across the board in the near future that all look excellent.
Sony has not made any decent games that are outside of single player either. Sea of Thieves continues to prove people like you wrong, there are more people playing that than there are people playing ANY of the solo story games you have been talking about.

In more than 20 years of gaming with multiple systems the only time I've ever seen stick drift was with the Xbox 360 controller. Though I have worn out a couple of L3 buttons on a DualShock 4 by constantly mashing it to sprint.

Donno, as someone who still likes physical games I couldn't imagine paying for Netflix gaming edition and not actually owning them.
Technically with discs, they (developers) could also just shutdown the access to physical copy game with online capability or update to play functions for single-player titles as they see fit. Damn companies.
Speaking as a 31yo, we haven't owned our games for a long time. Chances are that little box you have with the shiny disc inside is only half the game, or won't work at all without a reliable connection to some service.
The most remarkable thing about this transition to all digital is that they've completed it whilst managing to convince people that buying retail means anything anymore.
You don't 'own' anything besides a little plastic disk that provides the system with data/information. If a company wanted to revoke your license to launch and play a certain game, they could do it just as easily with a physical copy as they could with a digital copy, provided you're connected to the internet.
