When we fall into being over-protective of our children, while it can be said, "It comes from love" and that is true enough. And equally well we can say that love without wisdom is not enough. We need to learn the wisdom that allows and makes our love mature into the full reality of love. That is to say we are learning the wisdom needed to allow the reality of love to manifest through us. We are learning to live the reality of love in what we do and say. The relative opposite of over-protective would be some degree of neglect of the child. A subtle form of neglect would be the failure to see what is needed as Ropert clearly spoke of in the example of when one of the arms of the child's doll falls off. Our children need to be in the "atmosphere and attitude" that the parent has within his/her self that Rubert describes quiet vividly. In listening to Rubert we can see what attitude or reality in our self that we need to raise a child. The attitude of being sensitive enough to be in touch with the kind of experience the child may be going through and yet fearless so the parent can sense the upsetness or emotion of the child and not be afraid or caught in that state. Even if the child says "I hate you." We are not caught up; we know if we don't "go on tilt" or if we do we don't get caught up in the spinning wheels of our out of control mind; the child can't help but come to love us and eventually come to the reality of love itself. We could say one who knows the reality of love is able to be in touch with whatever emotion may be arising in us, acknowledge it, and let it be; allowing it to, as it were, untwist itself and allow us to see it as it untwist itself and reveals it is not other than the energy of life and love that was temporarily twisted because we had not up to this point been able to acknowledge it and allow it to reveal itself, as it is, in its essential nature (i.e. to say it reveals it is not other than the energy of love).

There wasn’t any separate self in the first place, therefore there’s already no one to die )))

    The Self (I'), is the
    Only Real Steady Point,
    in Existence,
    the Living Being,
    Our Eternal Consciousness, is what
    'separate' us from others,
We all have our own Consciousness,
there is NO death, in Real Sense.

With all due respect, most non-duality teachers are promoting a spiritual bypass that ignores the most important biological reality in the body-mind of most, if not all, human beings today - the impact of early childhood stress from physical and emotional neglect and abuse on brain development. Almost everyone in western countries were abandoned by their mothers to go back to work during critical neurological development, in the first three years of life especially. This is the root of the problem and grieving with a deeply empathetic therapist must occur as a biological stress release response to bring the human being sustainably out of a chronic stress state. The truth naturally emerges from this stable state. The best information on this is from the expert Erica Komisar, a psychoanalyst who is the most important voice on this topic in the world today. Her videos are freely available on UA-cam. Love

@ST-oe4wc What makes you offer a comment about "most nonduality teachers" unasked on a long recording of dialogues between Rupert and students? If you had listened to the recording, you would have seen your concerns unfounded here.
I'm just tired of those who whine that nonduality doesn't teach how to deal with trauma. That is not a defect in Advaita Vedanta. Trauma and healing isn't the nonduality purvue. We don't go to a proctologist for a toothache! ☺️ Advaita Vedanta, the Direct Path that Rupert Spira and Francis Lucille teach is an advanced teaching traditionally and wouldn't have even been available to the public the way it is today. We are called to be responsible for our own level of maturity when approaching a teaching. I did 50 years of preparation and psychological therapy. Consequently, I was ready for this, and it found me.

@@lynlavalight I understand your response and I am very familiar with these teachings and true nature they are pointing to. The fact that you put these teachings on a pedestal as an “advanced teaching” and that you capitalize the “Direct Path” reveals to me your immaturity. I am not denying the silent transmission these so called teachers are offering, I am simply stating that there is more to consider. Love

What’s the difference between 1. suddenly being aware of thoughts and immediately intending to drop them, and actually dropping them and 2. Suddenly being aware of thoughts and not pursuing them, letting them fall away? Both involve deliberate action, and I assume the mind is involved in de-involving itself, can that work? As Universal Consciousness is the thing that notices, does it then give orders to the mind to take action (by dropping the thought train)? Is the mind doing it under orders or out of its own volition to “improve” itself? On the other hand, is it not true that everything that the mind “produces” is actually generated and supported by Universal Consciousness? So even a self-defeating attempt by the mind to reach enlightenment is actually something that is a product of Universal Consciousness. The mind just thinks that it is doing the wrong thing by trying to enlighten itself. What a tangled web we weave.

@pedrogonzales9202 I know. I wish I could do something about that. This is just my personal channel. I don't monetize the content, so I have no control over the ads UA-cam tags on to it. I watch so much UA-cam I finally paid for a premium subscription so I wouldn't have to see ads anymore. Thank you for your feedback.
