I used to work these and the Nav Pods when I started in the USAF. Pilots like to track their wingmen with these and break the shit out of the internal stops all the time...
Warning to all WSOs and pilots with WSOs -There has been a issue with Lasing not showing up for the Pilot or the WSO while the other can see it -Also there has been an issue with HRM on the A/G radar crashing people when they have a WSO, so I recommend typing the steer-point into TPOD and searching for targets with just the pod Hopefully it will be fixed next update and thanks for the tutorial
Most Air Force jets like the a-10 and f-16 have a single four way target management switch for designating and toggling through different types of tracks, for whatever reason the navy likes to spread it across several hats. As someone who came from the a-10c it made no sense to me and took a lot of repetition to burn it in, not very intuitive.
During Razbams video on the T-Pod I swore he said that the record function actually works and creates screenshots for you. Have to try it out when I get back to training in a few minutes
I know you'll probably hate me for asking it, because you have ran this scenario a few times before but with different aircraft from different eras. With mixed results. But I would like to see a take on the Japanese Carrier fleet, which attacked Pearl Harbour, With their around 352 aircraft, against the modern American fleet, using only F15 strike eagles. Because the F15 has the ability to lock onto multiple aircraft simultaneously (I think it was 8 if I remember correctly) Now I don't have the luxury or ability to play DCS myself, as I neither have the game, let alone a computer to play at all 😅, but I do always enjoy watching your videos. But this is what I'm thinking; When you and your wingmen/women take off and head towards the Japanese Carrier fleet, the lead aircraft will lock onto and fire all his/her missiles. If those missiles are a fire and forget type, then the lead aircraft will turn and burn back to the carrier to rearm. Now, the 2nd aircraft in your formation will take the lead position, BUT they will not lock onto or fire until the original lead aircraft announces their hits/splashes. Theoretically eliminating the possibility of 'confliction' or missiles striking the same target. (This of course could still be possible if the radar locks onto stricken aircraft falling from the sky, but I wouldn't know if it does this as, lve never played the game), once the second lead aircraft has fired their missiles, they will return to the Carrier just as the first, and the third Aircraft will now take lead position, wait for the second lead aircraft to announce their hits/splashes before locking on and firing their own missiles and so forth, so there is just a constant barrage of 8 missiles knocking down targets. Obviously if the enemy gets too close, ships guarding your Carrier will begin firing their SM2 missiles for defence. I think it would be a pretty interesting fight to see if that works.
Btw A question that I had for a long time: why are the upper mpcds in green scale the f18 and the f15? Does it have anything to do with night vision or is it smthn technical? thanks for any answere :)
They just are. It's correct. And it's not an MPCD, since the C in that stands for 'color'. In this version of the Strike you only got one color in the front and two color in the back.
Could someone explain to me why that whenever I track a target it works perfectly and focuses on what I'm aiming at but as soon as I hit TDC press to designate the point as a target the TPOD crosshair just starts waving around all over the place? It's impossible to hit anything like that.
Your Bullseye is approximately Saint petersburg, with the coordinates N60 E30 How did you even manage to do this? xD Also the video info box reads "discount removed once the F-15E is removed" - i think you meant to write "is released"
It should have a very extreme over-saturation like the F-14, but doesn’t unfortunately. Pods like on the Hornet are easy and boring. The LANTIRN on the F-14 is so much more rewarding to use, and the oversaturation makes it worth using.
@@JodyParsons I didn't mind the material itself, but the GR channel was showing nothing but equip tutorials for like a week in a row at the time I posted this.
Someone needs to compare the Tpod and other controls of the F-15E to the A-10C2 to look for commonality and differences as I'm really interested in the air to ground weapon delivery of all aircraft. WHAT CAN I SAY, I JUST LIKE SEEING LOTS OF "BOOM, BOOM" ON THE GROUND. (When in doubt, Kill, and let God sort them out.)
The A-10 TPOD is much more intuitive and functional IMO. All the controls are on the HOTAS and you can zoom in/out progressively instead of just 3 levels.
"F-15E is currently available in pre-order with a 30% discount. This 30% discount will be removed once the F-15E is removed." I think you type the last word wrong😂 @grimreapers
Good explanation of the F-15E TPOD. Will help a lot when the module comes out.

8:53. That recorder is/will be active. Galinette made this so, i believe it sends screenshots to your screenshot folder.

I can't play any plane on DCS without first getting trained with Matt's videos! Big thank you !!
The IR view reminds me of old Microprose F-15E game where they also modeled the LANTIRN!
FYI... RCD does work, for the RDR and the TGP located in Saved Games\DCS Folder\ScreenShots\F15E_Recordings\
That's going to be epic for AARs!
It is no Timewaste look your vids, absolutly on Point all i have to know about this System
Nice, this seems to make much more sense then the Tpod controls in the Hornet😮
What doesnt make sense in the Hornet?
The hornet has a very good TPOD system
@@IKER774 yeah its not really bad, but i prefer the airforce controls. It makes more sense for me

Was waiting for this one. Will be best used by the edit:WSO to set up the targets for the pilot. I hope this is going to be multi-crew.
It's WSO not RIO and yes its multi crew on EA
Almost seems like the WSO isn't even needed. The memes are true
@@dietcoke759 my first few flights as a WSO were basically that. Not needed.
Good stuff. Thanks.
So glad you're having tea pot training....warm it first
This is an awesome video, although I need to look at the F-18 Hornet videos more. 1 and 2 seater
18:53 Caps got a bead on Jesus in the terrain lmao
They modeled the LANTIRN too? Wow wow wow
I mean kind of a necessity since most planes have them!

Cool idea, but you'd have to use a land base for the F15s. Would be entertaining to watch the SPAMRAMs go out.
@BuLLeT_ZA I did not know that, So maybe we make the strike eagles take off from Pearl Harbour?
Nice!
Great video as always Cap! My question is when are we going to get the expansion for the Syria map that includes Cairo and the Pyramids? 🙂👍
The sensitivity definitely needs to be adjustable cause i have a really hard making small adjustments when slewing the top on a target
@discuss1on even if I zoom, its slewing to fast but i didn’t try auto acquisition, i thought it was for radars
You can adjust your TDC curves in the axis controls

Could you do it with the WSO the pilot has keybinds that the WSO doesnt have
How do you share that mark point with a buddy? Covered in another video? I’m making my way thru the playlist but just wondered

when we set mark points how can we use them later in TGP ? since when I press M3 POD is cycles back to NAV points
Wow, the model characters-numbers are like artillery counter-battery radar characters-numbers...
Maybe should use air-land together for triangulation.
Cap, you can be my wizzo any time. 🙂

tpod quality looks slightly better than f14 but feels worse than f18c? Or am i blind?
It should be worse than the f18 the f14 has the same pod the f18 has the lightning and atflir those being newer will always be better.

Why the image of lantirn is better on f15 then f14, it is the same pod?
F15 is just better in all ways compared to the 🦃?
Does anyone know if there is a better way to decrease FOV, this video doesn’t do it justice but you seriously are almost better off just looking.

Am I mistaken or does the record function in the t-pod and radar work and put the files in the screenshot folder?
