This is a video that you need to watch a number of times to digest all of the information. Well executed. The system is complex and you understand the need for a wizzo in the back to handle all of this.
42:36 damn you can actually see the radar shadow from the planes as well. I spent all weekend learning about the strike eagle and then implementing it in game and I’ve barely scratched the surface. Well worth the 56$ pre order price!
I just finished watching the video, and I find it fascinating just how much detail goes into it. I don't know how you remember all of it or, whether or not you have everything written down next to you. Like reading from a Haynes Worshop Manual on the F15E 😅. The radar capabilities are intriguing and the images it produces is all very well modelled. Keep up the great work, look forward to the next one. 😊
Much appreciated comments. I memorize it all. Only fly in VR so it makes it cheat proof. I also use the kneeboard like crazy for any intel, photos, or notes on missions we are flying. Once I went Vzr, there was no other way.
Just started getting into this game and I'm already considering going real deep. My Dad was in the USAF for a long time as a mechanic on the F15E and C and also worked with rhe F16, and now works with Boeing on F15 stuff. Oftentimes the cockpit of an F15 is his office while testing systems, so Im thinking of making a replica cockpit so we can both play. Seems like a good way to connect with him.
VERY cool - reminds me of working the APS-124 in the Seahawk long ago - putting it in 120 rpm and using it for navigation (especially in lousy weax) - of course, in the late 80/90s we had virtually NO computer power so also couldn't save an image or overlay or even merge the radar image with our EMS system
I will work on more videos for sure! There is a bug right now preventing me from operating the hand controls in the back so I am limited on what I can do until they patch it. Stinks because I can not select any MFD or use the TPOD or radar.
Recording is modeled and badass. It exports your radar image as a JPEG to your DCS screenshots folder. You can also record images with the FLIR pod. Great for setting up multiplayer missions for gathering photo reconnaissance images on a target area then incorporating them into the next missions brief and kneeboard for attacking said targets.
It would be interesting if you simulated kievs defences and simulated different strikes on it at different sizes, for example, kh55, kh101-102, khinzhal, iskander etc
so to unfreeze the map is also the left MF switch right? is sad the yellow cursor is so small and sometimes i see my self keep going back to see where you have clicked, anyways this was 100% important and an informative video, like i said already in a previous video guide, i had bought a Woodie to help the channel out totally deserving , tx man, happy holidays from Portugal-Lisbon
Using the AG radar...just have a spare minutes to use it before forcing to take distance for another fly by, hard to find smaller or single targets while moving, neither can do zoom in if its not in range, or zoom out without maping again😅
So, Cap? The more you learn about the systems, are you beginning to understand the absolute NEED for us to have a wizzo?? You're describing radar modes that I completely forgot existed and I drove the mudhen for a LONG time. Of course several of those modes are special application only.
@@thesmirkingwolf Not sure if this is an insult or a compliment. I'm only relaying some real-world lessons. I could tell you the actual procedures for pre-planning ground attack missions, but I'd rather not go to prison. I know this is a game but so far almost everything is so close to the actual aircraft, it's kind of scary.
@@thesmirkingwolf Thanks for the compliment! To be honest, if a mudhen pilot actually had to handle all the ground attack systems without a wizzo, we'd never hit a thing. The radar and targeting systems are so complex and versatile in ways you'll never see in DCS, absolutely require a person dedicated to that alone. I ALWAYS considered my wizzo the mission commander and I'll follow his directions without question. About 80% of any given air-to-ground mission is all on him. He leaves my hands and eyes free to do 'some of that pilot shit', lol! Just wanted to note that while I keep saying 'he, him, or his' when referring to my wizzo, it's a habit because I've never had a female wizzo.
what a nonsense xD I understand that this is how these systems work on real plane BUT... we are playing A GAME. We are not "combat pilots" (yes, i know, its shocking but its true), we dont need this sh*t... Instead of creating useless (FOR A PLAYER) systems they could have focused on creating some single missions and a good campaign attached to a module.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I'm so glad you guys are the ones doing the tasks. I would be so lost! lol 👍 keep up the good work

Whoooow!!! Many things I didn’t know about the GRND RADAR. Many thanks for this magnificent video mate. Gonna have to study a little bit 🤓
Please show more gameplay with a WSO. want to see the teamwork realistic

Great tutorial Sir! Saving me a very long read of the manual.. LoL
24:30 How did you go from the F10 map view to the controllable aerial view?
Lctrl+F11
I wish you were my driving license class video voice.

Nice video
👍👍👍👍Great!!
You need to find the Aliens in the movie Mars Attacks and get rid of them they are dangerous little critters.

What the hell is the growling sidewinder spam about?
so to unfreeze the map is also the left MF switch right?

Hi,
Question for the GMT radar of the F-15E.
It works by Dopler or by image comparison?
Oh man I'm sitting there getting "blind spot" trying to generate a Map with the target dead ahead of me. Thanks!
Hey i think you got a typo in the description. I’m pretty sure you ment to say the discount gets removed once the F15E gets released and not removed
TBH just copied an pasted from Wag's email.
Alright
In this video at 24:30 how did you get into that camera view?
You can press Lctrl+F11 and be in a free camera mode
This also works from the f10 map, go onto the f10 map and zoom into where you wanna put the free cam, then press Lctrl+F11

Yeh def need a a WSO for a plane like this.
Peak humility, so rare for a pilot 🫡

@@itsjustme8947 definitely tongue in cheek compliment. A lot of WSOs complain they get no recognition.

I have soooo much studying to do lmao
nice
I keep getting "Radar in used " message when I hold down castle right
Its funny that 25 years ago Falcon 4 had an amazing ground radar.
How do u short push something
basically just a click not a hold
Could you make a video with a war between Romania and Hungary Please

Let’s see sone air to air f15e
I don't always watch cap, but when i do... it's bc a new module has dropped
soviet planes have such functionality?
😂
WTF, F-15 has better ground radar detail than F-18??
Oh fuck. DCS?
