"Nyack /ˈnaɪ.æk/ (About this soundlisten) is a village located primarily in the town of Orangetown in Rockland County, New York, United States. Incorporated in 1872, it retains a very small western section in Clarkstown. It is an inner suburb of New York City lying approximately 19 miles (31 km) north of the Manhattan boundary near the west bank of the Hudson River, situated north of South Nyack, east of Central Nyack, south of Upper Nyack, and southeast of Valley Cottage.
Nyack had a population of 6,765 as of the 2010 census. Most of Rockland County's local music scene is based in Nyack."

I live in the neighboring town of Valley Cottage but I love visiting Nyack every now and then, grabbing some food from Main Street and then relaxing at the park. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to Nyack, AK!

Looks like a cozy and quiet village with inviting small shops and eateries. Memorial Park is a gem, with the lapping waves of the Hudson River and its picturesque views. Nice introduction to a town I've never visited.

Just want to let you know how much I appreciate your videos. I think that anyone visiting NYC for the first time would benefit by watching as many of your videos as possible. Now, I don't know if you've done it already, but if you could start out at each of the airports, showing what to do when you first arrive, to get into the city, for instance from Laguardia, how to get your separate ticket for the 70 bus to take you to Roosevelt Ave station to catch the 7 train into Manhattan, etc...(or maybe that ride is free right now?). Anyway, thank you!!! your narration is so good....like just going on a walk with a friend.
I was there a out a year ago and I was impressed with it. It was a nice getaway from the city.

I went to Nyack College for four years in the mid 90s. Nyack is a great little town. I see quite a few of the stores are still there including Temptations and my favorite pizza place, Tarantellas. On North Broadway there a steakhouse called The Chop House that I liked and a great cafe called Damien and Sinclair-those are probably closed now.

For those of you not from here I would like to inform you this video is solely just downtown nyack but there’s a west,south,central and upper nyack.
I also often ride my bike from NYC to Nyack (stopping mostly at Boxer Donut or Runcible Spoon; sad that Pie Lady closed down in April) then turn around or sometimes go on to Bear Mountain. I usually go through Piermont along the way as well.
You can ride a bike from nyc to Nyack how long did it take you?

Nyack residents dont like when people say its upstate. They say it's just north of the city
Well, because it's technically not Upstate. It's the southern most county of the mainland (along with Westchester) and all suburbs. I grew up down the road from Nyack (in Orangetown) and really do live Upstate now (in Delaware County).
