Sidewalks are public space, you can 100% film anywhere in public with no repercussions
No repercussions? And they can yell and threaten and browbeat you with no repercussions, too.
@@653j521 nooo don't use words and raise eyebrows! My point is that there are laws protecting Cash filming in public. If anything happens, guess what? Video evidence.
I guess Deutsche Bank doesn't want their shady actions recorded.
You just can't use any type of tripod without a city permit.
Just don't film someone using an ATM. That's a problem!
WTF 6200$ you can live like a king in other parts of the world, including renting a villa and including food wtf wtf!
with 6200 in Greece you could live under Parthenon in Acropolis, in mansion!
You can get an 120m apartment for only 65 dollar here in Egypt lol
I could buy my house in a single year at that rate, that is unreal
Sheesh, it's gotta be a whole different mentality when your reaction to the $6,200/month for a tiny a partment is "that's it?" Rather thsn "holy shit this much?!"
Trust me. There are rich people who would scoff at that price💯 over priced is over priced
You'd think this was the same New York of the 1920's ~ 50's when New York was with living in. Seriously who the Hell would want to live across the Street for the most untalented hack like Mr. Colbert? He's funny to himself, and his minion NPC Bot Army.
You pay to live in the middle of manhattan
@@voxhumana2able The sad part is that had lost it's charm by the late 1950s, very early '60s. And you'd be nuts to want to be their now. You like your car more than the Subway? Ok well tax the Street so you can fund it anyway. What a freaking joke.
$78,000 a year to rent is absolute financial insanity.
for that amount you can rent whole city of Liechenstein for one day.
@@JENi-vx3ynswear my goal one is these days !
@@JENi-vx3ynIt’s cool you learned the name Liechtenstein. Considering it’s one of the wealthiest places in the world per capita, I highly doubt it. But I did the almost impossible today. Taught an American something about geography outside of the map of the USA
I will live in my SUV first. I am NOT doing that. Thankfully I moved to the SOuth and while it is still high to live , it is NOT THAT high yet.
I am strangely addicted to these videos of apartments in NYC. You have a great sense of humor Cash!
NEW YORK IS TRASH
Same!!!!!!!!
its always fascinating to see what americans are paying for such appartments, especcially in NYC etc.
My rend is about 1/10 for an appartment of similar size
NYC is really overrated IMO
@@MatthiasLehnenI agree, I just like seeing the apartments.
I would never live in NYC, but I’m obsessed with these videos. 🤣
why is he acting like a mentally handicapped type
You don’t have to rent, just buy
I definitely dig the tiny home, just cant imagine paying 6x more than the mortage on my three bedroom home with a huge garage to rent a really cool tiny house apartment in the middle of Manhattan.
I’d certainly never live downtown. It’s just too expensive. Sadly Brooklyn has become pretty much the same .
How can anyone afford that price?
Yeah, my mortgage was $950/mo and that was a two story three bedroom two bathroom with a full basement and a garage. Fuck that noise.
@@ParsnipCelery100%
For me its literally a full year of rent..... 3 bedroom apartment..... 428euro a month...
$6200 a month are you serious. Who can afford that? That’s insane
Well that’s why you save up and invest to buy an apartment
You can 100% take pictures of the premises as long as you're on a public street or sidewalk. You seem to have quite frequent battles with them, lol.
Lol yeah nyc is tough on filming for some reason. I always have the same problem
They cannot trespass your eyes from public property. Ain't cain't do it!
@@khalilahd. Privacy? There must be millions of people worldwide who want to use stills and videos for nefarious purposes.
yeah what they hidin??
@@653j521 Get over it-it is in the public and therefore can be filmed.
I would have not 👏 even 👏 *acknowledged* 👏 that security guy. That man who came up to you and said "know your rights" was absolutely right! You were on the sidewalk, on public property - you can take pics and vids of whatever if you want!
And the security guy can ruin your day of filming, raise your blood pressure, and target you for verbal abuse every time you walk by.
@@653j521 that's exactly what I was going to add. I can't stand these bougie places that harass people that are on public property and within their rights to be there passing through. I don't think loitering counts if it's under 15 minutes or something like that.
Now, one could mess with them back. Or even go in the other direction and get them for harassment, but is it even worth their energy?
That's why, I say, don't even engage. Not like Cash is here all the time, plus everyone loves Cash, so the guard is an idiot harassing him. Even if it's some rando filming there more often than Cash. They can get away with simple pretending the guard isn't even there.
He wasn't on the public sidewalk at that moment. And the guy said you can't film ON the premises.
@@j.kristineemmonsGuard didn't harass anyone. Guy was on the premises filming. Guard said he couldn't film ON the premises. Deal with it.
@@Objectified oh yes, Boss, I'll "deal with it"! 😂😂😂 Nah, hunny, were you born yesterday? These people harass...I'm not gonna go back and watch, but pretty sure he was on public property at *least* part of the time. If that's the case, he can film if he wants.
The idea of a tiny house in a house… love that. The tiny house looks so cosy.
On the other side… no trees, no green.
First and last apartment are amazing! The first one feels like you have your own private secluded area out of the way of everyone.
I'll never live in New York or any other large city, if I can help it, but I love your videos. I watch every single one you post. Your comments are so funny. You and Charles make such an awesome team. I get some tiny spaces use and space savings ideas from some of your content. I may wind up living in a small house or tiny house near Seattle some day instead of my 3 bedroom East Coast small town home. So the use of space part of your tours is interesting to me. I think your content had a lot of value even for those of us that are not currently apartment hunting. I love that you tour the neighborhood around the apartments you show. We all get a free tour of parts of New York without having to go there. Anyway..loving the channel, please carry on.
Same here. I love visiting NYC but after a weekend, I've had enough.
Near Seattle, eh? Stay far away from King County and of course Seattle! Snohomish County is great! The little towns of Snohomish, Marysville, Monroe, Lake Stevens, and Stanwood are all within commuting distance of the urban areas of King county and Seattle without the BIG PROBLEMS found there.
@clot shots Hell would be living in suburbs! We all don't live in Times Square or Midtown! We live in a quiet, sunny apartment with a little view of the Empire State Building, walking distance to the greenmarket, a half dozen parks, dog runs, Trader Joes, a gazillion restaurants/takeout places, and transportation that will takes to anywhere in the city, and to both our parents' house in New Jersey in less than an hour -- no car needed!
@@Gizathecat2 I've visited Seattle, was so disappointed. I'd never move out there except my son, grandchildren and ex are all out there. I'm an old military brat, I have no real home-base I can settle in anywhere. Thank you for the warnings though. Seattle was dirty, overrun with homeless, drunks, people crapping on the street saw a lot of addicts, drunks and homeless camps. Everett was meth central. Seattle is definitely not the Emerald City anymore.
@@Gizathecat2 I'll be moving to the Lake Stevens or Monroe area, somewhere in that area. My ex is moving to Lake Stevens and I have other family in Monroe. Pretty area, I bother them by marveling at the height of the trees and the mountain views. I was checking out Gold Bar but I think I prefer those other areas.
In apartment #1, you pay a premium for that huge deck, but it lacks the room size, second bathroom and in-unit laundry of #2. Apartment #3 is set up for near-luxury living for a family with a maid or a mother-in-law who does the cooking, but at a price. My preference would be #2, which could easily be shared. All three are pricey, but they are quality apartments and Charles seems to find clients with deep pockets.
You consider that near luxury ? Really ?
Apt 1 is only 200.00 more for all that light and outside fun.
Who in their right mind ever Pay over 6k for a typical apartment. Leave NYC before it is too late.
@@mrl2814 I wouldn't live in that disgusting city even if the rent was free.
Honestly, I would pic #1 for the privacy it gives. Which is nearly unheard of in NYC apartments. You don't even need curtains to keep the neighbors from looking in because you are facing the deck and the street. That is gold.
Anyone else appreciate the fact that he shows whats nearby to give you a feel for how it would be like living in the neighborhood?
I grew up visiting Las Vegas and we would frequently stay at the Stardust. Seeing that diner replicate that neon icon filled me with nostalgia and pure joy. What a genius dining concept!
I love that pre-war unit that somehow managed to not get chopped up into two or three unlivable spaces! A family could easily live in that one!
Exactly the comment I was looking for! I'm so glad that one hasn't been chopped up and ruined.
Only one thing.. that fire place...
I totally agree!
@@chilliwaterlickingecko5113 Yeah but you could easily install an electric unit that would give you all the heat and ambiance of the real thing. My parents are in their 70's and live in a modern condo, they love theirs. So much so that when it's hot in the summer, they put it on at night for the visual effect without the added heat.
I love these videos, especially with Charles! The 12-15 min videos are just so much more enjoying too!
I live in Dallas, and when he said that's all when the man said 6200, I almost passed out. But it is a beautiful place.
I lived in a 100sf apartment on top of a building on the upper east side (for $200/month with heat, hot water and electricity included!), the bathroom was in the hallway but I was the only one up there so it was mine, it was super quiet, the 2 windows were huge and I had the rest of the roof as a large terrace. Lots of sun and a kick ass view. I built a loft bed which gave more room on the floor level. It was actually on top of a luxury building with doorman, etc, half a block from central park and in an incredible neighborhood. It had everything that a larger apartment would have, only smaller. The building allowed pets so I even had my cat there. It was crazy. I got the arrangement from a friend after an emergency of getting out of a domestic violence situation, and it was my little slice of peace and recovery. I actually loved that place and miss it sometimes.😅
$200 a month. When was this? The 1970's
@@martiallife4136 I wanted to ask the same thing! lol 6200 now? That's insane!

I pay like $3k to live in a high-rise in downtown San Diego and think its nuts and can barely afford it. I have no clue how people justify paying like 3x that for an old apartment in a pretty beat up building. I get the allure of NYC but you gotta really love it to stay there long term paying that kind of premium. I can't wrap my head around owning a house in Southern California but for these prices, you could and you'd own it...eventually... in a beautiful place. I guess you love the city or are there for family and or work...like anywhere i suppose
yeah I don't see how anybody, with any job other than CEO OF A FORTUNE 500 could manage to spend $6200 every month on just rent... This is not realistic for 99.9% of people's salaries.
Those prices are insane. I live in a lovely neighborhood with a great view from the third floor, vaulted ceiling, 2 bed 2 bath, large patio, wood burning fireplace, living room, dining room, laundry room and a garage downstairs...and I pay $1600 a month. And I live in the city of the best state. Not mentioning which, cuz too many people are moving here.
These prices are blowing my mind. They are literally 10X what I pay.
come onnnn let us know! I promise I wont move.
I bet your state ain’t even cool
These are the apartments I would want to live in if I had the money. So classic
If I had the money I'd still stay deep in the countryside.

Charles is on 🔥 with these apartments!! Also, if you can see something from a public area, you can film it. Especially if there are no signs to the contrary.
From 1993-1996 I lived in an apartment on the ground floor that had a huge backyard. It was concrete but had a hammock, some rose bushes and a few trees. It was right aside of Parson’s School of Design housing that was its own garden with trees. In the summer you could see fireflies. Vegetation was so thick you couldn’t see through it. I loved laying on that hammock or having dinner outside knowing I was one of a few out of 10 million people who could sit outside in their own private space. Rent was 1,100 a month. 21st street between 1st and 2nd Ave. loved that place!
Sounds like the ideal living for NYC. A fantasy these days.
I love watching people from New York explaining how a small, over priced apartment is so good. Texas is just built different lol
You know it will be a great video when you and Charles get together. Alone you crack me up, but when y'all are together it's comedy gold!
Charles cracks me up when he says the insane amount of rent
Prewar apartments are sooooo NYC! Everyone of those apartments were fantastic 👏 👌 😍!
I saw that play and Jackman was fantastic! And those tights... 🤩
Im a new watcher. I just love how you check every kitchen. Lol. Im hooked.😊
Lmfaoo I honestly watch these videos for your humor 😂😂 you always crack me up
These were all stunning! I would have a hard time choosing. Always good to see the boyz together!
that wrap around deck is so cool!!!
Love this! Def the small rooftop is a winner! Need outdoor space - esp in lockdown Times
You two are hilarious! All apartments were gorgeous but the last one was stunning!!❤❤😂😂
Oooooh, I don't half fancy that last apartment - I could actually fit all my junk, books, ballet barre - golly, everything in here, and still have room to move about!! Charles really does have some great apartments - and you and he seem to be developing your double-act! Great job. Greetings from my side of the Pond.
Im glad that man informed him
after watching 3 or 4 of your videos, I think you deserve my subs. keep hustle.
1st Amendment states from public property you can record or take pictures of anything your eyes can see. The guy was giving you good info.
That's in the first amendment, that you can record or take pictures from public property? I guess that's why we have so many great photographic moments of the founders of the nation, real slices of life.
He wasn't on public property when the guard said that. The guard informed him that he couldn't film ON the premises. And for what it's worth, not every publicly accessible area is legally considered a "public area".
@@Objectified The sidewalk is a public right of way. He was perfectly legal filming from the sidewalk and there is nothing the bank can do about it.
Not true it depends. Heck Hippa Health privacy info stopped with covid. You could literally fire anyone
Love the building, and that last apartment. The closets alone make it an outstanding place. The 3D fridge does belong in this apartment. There are so many ways to be creative with the non-working fireplace. This is the first apartment I've seen that has its own laundry room, not two machines stuffed into a bathroom. For people who can afford it, it's a great place.
Wow to all if these apartment!
Video quality and color grading *chefs kiss*
OMG I WANT the first apartment 4:22 that's perfect!! The wrap- around terrace and the view got me. Cash, you're really tempting me to move to New York!!
Charles is THE BOMB!! So love when you two are showing together....lol...he has really came into himself...love the banter!!
I had to live for work reasons in Madrid, where rent would cover up almost 60% of my income (just rent, not even talking about food).
I invested in a 2nd hand ford transit. I cheaply remodeled it with ikea wood. Used a baterry i took everyday to work to charge and i showered in the gym.
I ended up parking 2 blocks away from my work. Saved 50% of my income every month.
Some winters were dificult. But in 3 years i had enough to quit my job go back home buy a decent home and be a home owner by 30. Plus still having a van to go skiing, route in europe in summer or anything i need.
Wow never had no desire to even visit new York. Watching these videos I understand completely
Beautiful pre-war homes, tastefully renovated, near Carnegie Hall and Central Park. Lovely indeed!
This is the first time the title actually matches the video. I was shocked that it actually looked like a tiny house rooftop apartment.
These are some beautiful apartments
Love TSC! That in my neighbourhood would be a big incentive for me!
And Cash continues his time honored tradition of checking every sink sprayer in NYC...you go, guys...
Love the pre-war apartment and the roof top apartment.
BTW, you should also mention if pets are allowed in any of the apartments. I am not familiar with NY so I don't know if it is normal for people to have pets when renting.
At those prices you should be able to have your pet's. 😊
Not sure if I'd have a dog in NY unless I had a balcony to set out one of those artificial grass patches that collects waste underneath. It's really the only way a dog can do its business. Otherwise it's a long trip to get to the ground floor and there's literally nowhere for them to go.
LOTS of people have pets in NYC.... emphasis on lots.
NYC is very pet friendly
@@kabob21 it's no different than having an apartment anywhere else. Still have to go down stairs or use elevators to go outside.
Apt #3 for me. Its feels like a reno'd brownstone. And the location! Agree about the fridge though.

That apartment is a major win!
Best NYC apartment tours on youtube!!!!
It's what's on the inside that counts. Love you Cash!!! 💕😀👍
Someone built narrow apartment in a shopping mall in between two retail stores.
Apparently, an architect goofed on the blueprints and there was an 8 foot gap between two stores.
They lived there for years before someone figured it out. 8 feet wide and 50 feet long is a lot of square feet.
Very convenient for shopping.
I absolutely love these apartment videos but every time I watch one it makes me thank God that I do not live in New York City. In Texas I’m paying $1550 a month for a three bedroom, 3 bathroom, two-story, 1400 square-foot apartment in a really good neighborhood.
Love that "banter" back n forth! You guys are awesome 😎😎
Fab places today! Almost worth the price lol, my fav is the 3rd place with the bonus room and bathroom and all that storage space.
I feel like Charles could pop out of the blue in significant moments of my life to give me advice with 2 words max and that would change my life for the better.
Like you're videos man.. fun to watch
I love, love, love! the older classic apartments. The last one is the best, just because of the size. I like how they updated it. However, I wish they left a little more character in it. in my books, NEVER paint good old wood. Some of that trim, and ceiling details, would have added more warmth. But still a type of NY apartment I would absolutely enjoy!
Goofy that is nothing but an ugly Bronx apartment with a park avenue price tag
All three are very nice but if I had to take one it would be #3 I could sit in the window after work eat bagels and see who gets mugged. Great showing Cash and Charles.
You guys are hilarious 😂
I live in west Africa Ghana but I'm obsessed with your videos
For $6,200, you could get a crazy condo on the water in LIC with a balcony, East River and Manhattan view, a bunch of amenities, and one of the nicer parks/walking spaces in NYC. Or buy and pay mortgage.
Hi Cash and to your friends, wow that rooftop tiny apartment has a great view👍
Thirty years since I lived in NJ and watching this video. I can smell that city. Some good. Some bad.
Looks like living in NYC is like totally worth it!
The location and views are beautiful in this one. noice!
Love that "pre-war" apartment. 🙂
Finally, an apartment that actually shows its price is not messing around
Love your videos! Keep it up! Hahahha
Pricey but very nice. Love them all but #3 is my fav - that sitting room is amazing. Thanks guys.
A great video. All three are pretty pricey but, in the NYC scheme of things, they're probably worth it. I love #3 with its wonderful architectural features and size, #2 is almost as large and I think it's the best value. Love Charles who always has great apartments. He must do very well! I watch all of your videos even though I could never afford any of them! I really enjoy your neighborhood tours and your lively commentary!
I like it, very suitable for creative people. Specific view from the windows.
possibly one of the absolute coolest locations ever. wow
#3 is the apartment I think of, when thinking of living in NYC. Love It!
For $92,400 a year it's yours.
Cash you and Charles are funny.
New here but u got a fan out of me I absolutely loved the video ❤
That Shot Gun movie was funny 😄
The penthouse apartment has a fantastic terrace. But the last apartment is the winner. You can decorate all you want in the huge living area. The building is definitely pre-war because it is illegal now to have a bedroom access only through the kitchen. It's a fire safety issue. But you can make it an office or library room.
Really nice offerings & OMG you guys together are FUN to watch❣️💯
The first one is pretty cool! Living out in the country on 33 acres in a 2600 square foot house with a shop I could not imagine living like that! I know everyone is different but going from where I am to that would feel like cage life unreal lol. I am not sure anything you would be doing in life would justify it vs moving all together and starting over. I guess if its what your use to then your happy.
Yo Cash. You are probably the best person to ask. First. Smart move to show the area surrounding the apartment
In the videos as well. On another note, often videos show how most of the stores are closed and whole areas kinda not worth while. Could you make videos presenting current nyc, the streets, the restaurants and such. Would be really nice to see
That last one was the nicest apartment you've toured in a while.
I am watching this from the 23rd floor of 1675 Broadway, the building where Angelina's bakery is in. Very surreal clicking on a video and have you talk about the base of my office building.
$6,200/month for that appt. sums up the whole problem with NY City. The rent should come down soon though now that so many businesses are fleeing NY. Also the fact that it wasn't already rented out when this video was made is a statement in itself!
I love how the first thing i noticed was the asbestos wrapped pipe around what looks like part of the sewage air vent
Hilarious! I lived in NYC in the 60"s when rents were in the hundreds for a studio with a view of a brick wall. all buildings were "prewar" & the layout was equally quirky as these gems. Your apt tours made me laugh so hard and remember how weird NY apts can be no matter how high the rent..
You and Charles make a great team 👍🏻
New York/Manhattan is very cool. I’ve been all over, many times, and liked everything. There, you have to pay to play! But, for $6,200 or $7,000 per month, you could own a 3 million dollar house, here in Florida 😳
@3:38 preach brotha!
If you can be some place, you can take the photos!
Very few exceptions, and the shop window, isn't one of them...
Having your own laundry you can use for 12 months beats a 4 month semi private deck.
I can't believe I have to suffer the indignity of not living in that classic 6. What I would give for one of those. They sure don't make them like that anymore.
On apt #1, o love the many windows and the deck. If the tenant can decorate it in any way they want with furniture, plants, lights and shades, it would be amazing!
Wow! That location is insane! I'd just keep my name on the Colbert ticket list all the time.
