    I love your channel. It's very informative and very precise in details. And I can't thank u enough for doing so. I'm currently working on my 1978 wellcraft and it has a Aplha one gen 1 with a 470 mercruiser

    Would it not be easier to leave the gap guage in there then tighten up the screw against it and then slide out the gap guage?

    What causes the coil to overheat mine is overheating and burning up two of em so far

      Thanks for watching, great question. It can be as simple as old worn out plugs and wires. In addition, the below items can cause coil to overheat.
      1. Distributor point not properly set
      2. An electrical short or loose connection on coil
      3. Engine timing off
