You're like an astronaut who has a problem with their spaceçraft and can only fix it by talking to some clever person on ground control.
You have ripped it apart and it might look a mess but you are splitting the problem into smaller chunks, then understanding how that bit of circuit works. It is what all technicians do.
A good ' teacher is 'South Main Auto', Eric is a good. He works on American cars in the rust belt....with lots of mice. Finding a relevant video might be a little difficult but he is good at back probing, he is funny and he usually goes back to basics.

I'm a Mechanical Engineer and build motorcycles and cars as a hobby and have no problems so long as I can physically see the issue. Electrical is like the dart arts to me, I can't even wire a plug without watching a UA-cam video! I'm useless at diagnosing electrical problems and the only way I can wire a bike is to start from scratch and follow a wiring diagram or buy a custom loom. Even then, I hate doing it but I'm cheap and won't pay someone even though I appreciate why they charge so much, they deserve it lol No advice from me mate.

Believing takes you halfway there, so don't lose hope! I was watching today a story about Geoffrey Pyke, and he believed that "everything was possible till proved the opposite by oneself, and the madder the scheme, the better the chances of success".

Dont give up at this stage, you will be sorry if you scrap it. I hope you come across that one wire you just keep missing and its not something more serious. Look up Diagnose Dan and for the next time you will learn loads from him.

Well you are ‘bar stewarding’ every episode now.😉 I feel your pain with this - I like to fix my stuff too (and I am stubborn) but the scale of this diagnostic would certainly challenge me and of course the diagnostic is the hard bit, the repair is simpler but awkward given it is a vehicle. However, I am sure you will be successful.😀👍

Check fuses orso bypass that relay under bonnet 30+87 ad that relay will cut power to starter crank most cars van use earths as signal wires

It has Eric doing some fault diagnosis on an American jeep that won't start. Not a magic bullet for you. But it does show the process and some of the techniques. He has lots of gadgets - some of which are probably expensive & for advance techies - however a test light is probably a good investment because it puts a load onto the wiring, when the lamp is dimmed it means the wiring has a high resistance to current....when a multimeter might show continuity.

Have you tried a breakers and rob the wiring loom or part of?
Not as yet, I've only used part of the loom that I got off that second hand srb/Sam unit. I'm convinced if it was just the wiring I should have fixed it by now 😩
You shouldn't try to turn it over until you can prove the ground is good. Otherwise you risk a fire.
or worse youll just melt one single wire somewhere!
Can he send you a wiring diagram? It should be straightforward to narrow down if you have it.
