- The UK government's crackdown on illegal migrant labour has meant demand for unskilled workers in London has dropped to nearly zero. Al Jazeera meets one such migrant from India, Bhupinder Singh, who destroyed his passport in the belief it would make it harder for authorities to forcefully deport him.

I've always found it so odd when people go on about how honest these people are when the people they are talking about are committing a crime a crime every second.
Some one once asked me "If twenty years ago some one committed a burglary to feed their family, do I think they should have to go to prison now" To which I answered "May be not after all twenty years ago they did not get caught. But if they are still doing it today and every day for the last twenty years then yes".
The crime does not end the day they come in, every second after that they are still committing a crime. You do not just let the burglar off when they have left the house and if they are caught in the house what kind of person keeps going on how honest they are?

" undocumented " - whoever thought up this euphemism for ' illegal ' should be given some sort of award.
And they still come to the UK, to have dreams shattered.
If you want work, you need to speak the language of the country and then have the right to work there as well, unemployment is far too high for those who were born in the UK as it is anyway.
We want good relationship with india becz same police attitude and same thinking of people's and same government

james morleyjmor If it truly concerns you then why don't you open your own home and bring these poor people into your home; feed them clothe them, take them to the doctor, get dental care for them and stop expecting everybody else to do it.
There's a simple solution: Step Up and do it yourself!

God bless this man.. I used to work in Redbridge library in Ilford and he used to go in every day to try and keep warm. Security were forever chucking him out for hygiene reasons. Hope he's found peace now

I hope this man has gone back home in a safe place.. this is no life an elderly should have... or anybody as a matter of fact. Whatever choices he made were his.. who are we to judge him as a person for the choices he made. We were given this life to live it how we want not how people want . God bless him

If you are a skilled worker you can apply for teir 2 visa...because NHS is hiring nurses and technician from overseas...or you can apply for a student visa...

Don't go where you aren't wanted. If you haven't come legally then you aren't welcome and the country you sneaked into as a thief in the night has only the obligation to kick you out. Your home country has all obligation to you.

Nothing is wrong, more people less available jobs. Everyone moves to London which is already over populated. Stores and shops used to hire illegal workers so they can pay half the amount, but new laws mean that the stores owners get fined hefty amount for hiring illegal workers. So they dont hire them.

Do you live in UK? Have you ever gone through a typical UK immigration process? Have you talked to someone who has done it ? How many immigrants you have talked to? I am not saying that you don't know anything about immigration in general. But I believe you are from Canada and knowing that even many Brits have misconceptions about British immigration system, I think you would have the same misinformation. I am against mass immigration, I am in favour of curbing asylum numbers but I don't have an extreme far right view of things and I don't see immigration purely as a problem. It has it's benefits. Look, I don't have to convince you of anything as you are entitled to your opinion. So have a nice day.
