What I like about prototype racing is that they can actually race in any weather! Dry, rain, heck even SNOW (Spa 2019)! With F1 a little tiny drizzle of rain = drivers complaining that the race should be red flagged LMFAO
Great video man, I enjoyed this as well as your GT racing breakdown. It can be confusing stuff but I learned a lot from these and the classes mean a little more to me than just names now
Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) club racing features some amazing prototype classes that put on great racing: C Sports Racing (Radical SR3 is an example), D Sports Racing (Diasio D962, essentially a smaller Porsche 962, is an example), the Renault-engined Spec Racer class, the Ford-engined Spec Racer Ford class, and Sports 2000. Those last three classes show almost no aerodynamic devices, but damn, they put on great racing.
I’m loving the concept of these videos dude! I wanted to maybe help with an annotation? I feel like LMP900 and LMP675 should’ve been mentioned. There were a lot of iconic racers in that category that a lot of people have seen, probably from GRiD or Project CARS. Another cool one would be Group 6, the turbo era!
I’m glad you like them! There are two main reasons I left out the older classes. Reason 1. Classes like LMP900 and LMP675 essentially just evolved into one of the modern classes. Reason 2. I didn’t want to confuse people even further so I only included current classes. Anyway, I might do a historic guide one day. I’m glad you enjoyed once again and thanks for tuning in!
I was about to say something about the LMP900/LMP675 class. Some car deriving from group c chassis and engines too, after the death of group c era, like for e.g. - The WSC-95 chassis was from the Jaguar XJR-14, that alone made it one of my favorite prototype classes of all time.
Allow me to refer you to my videos on LMH and LMDh: LMH: ua-cam.com/video/E-dWr8VUm0M/v-deo.html LMDh: ua-cam.com/video/mZSOcrJ56Wg/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
At 9 minutes 46 sec, there is a black frame, was this intentional or was this just incompetence? Love the channel but honestly there must be better uses of your time, I feel depressed now having wasted mine. Much love x
@@caitlinpennycommentary Oh really thats so strange bro, huh. Well maybe it's me? Still aint gonna get the other 14 minutes 59 seconds and 23 frames back of time life so thanks whoever made this terrific video lol. I miss the era of good content. Love you so much, x
As a car guy and F1 fan that's always been intrigued by other series but never found the time to fully immerse myself, you just earned yourself a sub.

They really are just formula cars with a roof and headlights. Simple premise but they are certainly cool. Thanks for tuning in!
Thank you Jack! This is awesome!
Thanks for being a part of it!

What about something like the MCR S2000? Does that count as a prototype?
Absolutely it counts. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for tuning in!
Still a bit confused about the technical differences between LMH and LMDH.

You left out the new Revolution race car that beat the praga at the last sports prototype race.
The truth is why isn't prototype cars more equivalent quicker as F1
Your definitely reading from a script

I don't see the black frame, dude. Check if it's on your side.
