For losing Thiim, Voss, Chakas, and company, I agree. Wade has done a great job of bringing in new freshman and talented players to rebuild and compete in the Big West.
Do you think Sean Kelly will redshirt his first year? He’s very talented but UCLA already has several great outsides. Also look out for Hawaii’s Kristian Titriyski. He was one of the top scorers for Bulgaria in the u19 world championship and will be competing with Kearney for the starting opposite spot!
I don't think Kelly will redshirt this year. I think he's too talented and will likely find time throughout the year. It's a long season for Rama and Robinson to play every single set. And actually Titriyski has been on my radar! big 6'9 OPPO, I'm a big fan of his, I think he will definitely give Kearney a run for his money at UH.
Great call on USC team coming together. They are complete. 6’9” senior oppo #15 Jack Deuchar will have a big year. I bet Sterling Foley wins 2nd in Newcomer OTY.
Sean Kelly will play this season but primarily against lesser opponents. That's just how UCLA operates, similar to when Rama and Cooper were freshmen. Rowan is an exception because Miles left the team in the middle of the season. Sean might start next season if Cooper forgoes his one remaining year of eligibility from redshirting.
Kelly already played and started for UCLA during some of their summer exhibition matches (at least under Speraw). I think he gets more playing time than people are expecting - although he is the clear OH3.
you should look at daniel henwood, setter from puerto rico going to ohio state. He’s set to start his first year and took a club team from puerto rico to the semi finals of aau going to against balboa taking them to three sets.
internesting, thanks for the plug! Will definitely keep my eye out on that Ohio State team as they play BYU tonight! We'll see if he gets the start at setter. Thanks for the comment!
Yes, Simeon Nikolov, I mentioned him in the video. But also stated most of the guys I was going to focus on in this video would be from the U.S. because that's where I can get most of the information on those players from.
You'll like my newest video, I talk all about his upside and impact from the first exhibition game against BC. He is a stud and will be an important piece on this Hawaii team. Thanks for the comment!
With all do respect I think you should make time to come to the east coast and see some of the talent coming up. Unfortunately volleyball is very political, it would be refreshing to go seek some of the best players from around the United States instead of simply one area of the country.
I live on the east coast! And I see a lot of these guys that same. Some of which make their way into the USJNT as well. The decision makers that make these teams are often heavily west coast based, but I just think these guys are the best in the class. But we need to do a better job overall of identifying this talent as a whole across the country that is true.
@ thank you for making time and replying to comment. Try looking up Christian Teresi, he signed last year as a Junior to Ohio State as a Setter, and for the class of 2026 Sebastian Pardol OH for Windy City Premier, they just won ABT Point Series tournament last weekend, finishing on top over 630 18-1’s and MOD 18-1’s as a true 17’s team.
I had one or two on my list, just didn't really have the materials, stats or film to make anything worthwhile. The Libero position is one of the hardest to evaluate on a statistical basis. Will definitely highlight some of the impactful ones as I see more action this season though!
@@mitchsterkenburg I don’t think he is a crazy talented setter, I think he is really good not great Rafa, the bay to bay setter will come in next year when Rowan is a senior, redshirt(probably) and then he will be the starter after Rowan graduates. Rafa is just as physical and a better setter. Unless talifara takes a jump this year he will end up losing his opportunity to start to Rafa.
Hawaii has some very very talented freshman. They might not be #1 this year, but holy cow looks like they reloaded big after a semi-down year.
For losing Thiim, Voss, Chakas, and company, I agree. Wade has done a great job of bringing in new freshman and talented players to rebuild and compete in the Big West.
i think ppl are sleeping on Kristian Titriyski he was the "Ace" player when he played alongside Moni Nikolov in Levski u19 and national u18
Yeah he has an insane arm and jumps well. Definitely a great pickup for Hawaii
He will definitely be in the competition for that spot at UH.
For sure!

Trueee you got Roure, Kearny, and Titriski in Hawaii I'm excited for them this season!
but sean kelly is so talented that i think he could be a 2nd-3rd string outside, and be an asset throughout the season and actually get PT

Lots of new blood for UH, should be a lot of fun to see who ends up starting.
Agreed, I think he will play at points this season.

Certainly hope the grad senior Deuchar has a good year this year. I think its his spot to take this year.
so excited for this season…..
I'm right there with ya!

You should really watch out for Mathew wheels at Hawaii he’s insane…
He's good! Played for Pulse VC should be a good Lib competition.
Could you make a video on what undersized hitters need to succeed at a college level, ex: D1,D2,D3. Thank you
Be athletic as hell.
I can definitely do that, I have a video similar to that already but happy to expand upon it further.
@@mitchsterkenburgthank you expanding it would help me a lot
That barber kid is really good
which barber kid?
aye mitch are you familiar with next years incoming freshman for long beach wojciech gajek out of Poland ? if not look into him, kids a demon
I'm unfamiliar, but I i will make myself familiar now, thanks for the plug
keep an eye on braden marquardt
@@matixwilliams9979 tell me more about him! 6’5 middle from GCU?
@ played for Pulse, hes basically another cam thorne and has like a 50 inch vertical
i don’t see trent getting time when rafa comes after andrew’s senior campaign
That’s a long ways away but certainly should be a good setter competition
I don’t really follow college ball, but isn’t there a crazy good Bulgarian setter playing next year as a freshman?
Yes, Simeon Nikolov, I mentioned him in the video. But also stated most of the guys I was going to focus on in this video would be from the U.S. because that's where I can get most of the information on those players from.
@ got it, sorry I missed that part.
Adrien roure,
U19 World champ with france and freshman from hawaii. If you don't know him yet you are going to get surprised
You'll like my newest video, I talk all about his upside and impact from the first exhibition game against BC. He is a stud and will be an important piece on this Hawaii team. Thanks for the comment!
@mitchsterkenburg yeah i just saw your video. Great analyse btw
Cutting that echo in your video would do good things
It's my fridge 😅😅 . I can't exactly turn that off. Sometimes it's louder sometimes it's not. A product of a living room set in my apartment.

7 UCLA setter will not be a top player in collage ball, he will not play much at any point in his career.
Why do you say that?
@@mitchsterkenburgwhy didn’t you talk about adrien roure
