Cool ! I watched on tv and what a win and feeling. Can’t imagine how great it was to be there in person. The what if’s remain 42 years later. Still think it was a right call to bring in Rogers in the deciding game. What a team, great memories.
Jesus, the Expos should’ve won this series. Man, it’s still hard watching these highlights. 43, years later and still hurts. What a team they had. The culmination of the 1979 and 1980 teams.
Thanks for these rare highlights, especially Game 2. If you have the highlights for Games 1 and 4, please upload them (even though it was the alien team--the Dodgers--that won the games). There are not many clips from those two games, and it'll be a delight to see. We already have the fifth game that needs no mention.
The media was making a lot out of the chilly air for a playoff game. Same in Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Minnesota, even New York. Montreal isn't the only northern city. BTW, BRING BACK THE EXPOS!!!
@daboys1215 You don't know that with certainty. Plus they were not going to bring in Lee to pitch to Garvey and Cey. The reason they had to use Rogers was because the Expos bullpen was useless that postseason.
Une très belle et bonne équipe mais certains joueurs choakaient quand ça comptait. Le choix de Rogers en relève a été une très mauvaise décision sachant que ses débuts de parties étaient difficiles.
I have tears in my eyes. I remember those 2 games as a young man and they were like winning the Stanley cup without actually winning the series.
I want to burst out crying, as I smile at the watch the memories.
I was at the game, I remember walking back home after the White HR, it felt like heaven

Been looking for these highlight or a recorded full broadcast of 1981 NLCS Game 2 for years!!! Thank you. The Game 3 material is spectacular as well!
Somewhat heartbreaking to watch knowing what came after.

Expos should have won that series
..broke my heart
With 2 home games left, if needed, was one away from advancing to the World Series.

I want my team back!
1981 would be the closest the Montreal Expos ever came to making the WS.
Until they became the Washington Capitols, when they won the 2019 World Series, including defeated Dodgers along the way.
@@rumarspencer7302 Washington Nationals, NOT Capitols.
@Juan Melendez Well it's what I meant, didn't think it through, but thanks for the remindance.
Watching these highlights in 2023 and you would think it was the 'Deadball Era' back in '81.

Props to Canada for this, it was the countrys greatest moment in the history of Canada. Your welcome cupcakes for a reason to live. Hows Trudy doing??
Sad, that was their last playoff win ever!
Watching games played in Olympic stadium was more like theatre then baseball
Will never forgive Jim Fanning for putting Steve Rogers in the game 5 when he had Bill Lee in the pen.
It just wasn’t meant to be.
Bill Lee was shite that year
@@diamonddog13 Lee wouldn't have given up a homerun to Rick Monday.

They also had Jeff Reardon and lefty Woodie Fryman.
As the Washington Nationals, they won it all in 2019, defeating the Dodgers along the way.
Dave’s Lopes-The Pat Mahomes of baseball.
