I worked on Apollo, Sabre and system one as a travel agent. I then worked for Apollo (Galileo, Travelport). I then worked for Expedia in the beginning. I built the migration part between Expedia and worlds pan. Also did work with kayak. You did great with the history but the behind the scene deals when all this happened is legendary.

A quaintly US-centric presentation. Lots of useful info but giving a slightly false impression that US companies still dominate this market. No question they created it and built it through the 1980s and into the 90s but from the time Galileo was hauled back to Denver to merge with Apollo the US companies lost their way. Now technically playing catch-up to Amadeus who first switched to open systems and cloud to provide more flexibility to modern travellers. (I have over 40 years in the industry and have worked for all the major GDSs (even before they were 'GDS')).

Would be extremely precious having your input on this topic, as I'm writing an essay on Airline Revenue history.
