it's one of the greatest songs! some people might think, 'nelly the elephant' is the greatest song ever written! it's all a matter of taste!!@@GottaLookInwardToSeeOutward
Great summer song.I met a beautiful brown skin lady in 85' and we go to the beach with her in a leopard print one piece suit that showed her trim figure. When this came I would sing along to her.Of course every time I hear it I'm with her at the beach
The picture you painted sets a great story in my mind. I can clearly see what you described. Out of all the loves that don’t last, summer love is the by far the best
Boys of Summer is a classic 80s song! Love watching you react, you get into it! Makes the memory of the music more real, make it feel like the first time again, yeah I'm old, I remember the first time hearing this song, blew me away, my wife and I danced around the living room while this played on the TV.
This song will never age it is just one of those all time feel good classics that will get anyone at any age to appreciate a well put together song - it is a timeless track.
The line "saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac" is such a great line and really sums up the irony. Should also check out "Heart of the Matter" is one of his best
Wonderful watching you bop to this ole classic. And what a time, this came out in 84, followed by a gem by Phil Collins in 85, Take Me Home, another must-listen I hope you get around to :)
Music by Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Words by Henley. There’s a good video on here where Campbell explains how the song was created.
This is a Fall Song. I love it, when I hear it has to be autumn, No other time in the year does it work. Not summer not winter or spring totally a fall song.
@@swampfizz: You’re right! Henley was referring to the Grateful Dead with that reference. More specifically, he’s “taking a shot” at his generation for “selling out” and giving up on their ideals from the “Summer of Love”. It took me a while to figure that one out, but when I did learn it, I can sense the bitterness in that line
I know our phones listen to us and use our cameras to funnel ads and algorithms our way, but how do they read our minds?? You know it's happened to you. I was thinking heavily about this song yesterday. Not playing it. Not talking about it. Not singing it out loud. Not humming it. Just off in a daydream in my current state of grief and imagining it playing loudly in my mind. Your video pops up on my home feed this morning.
The video fully enhances the meaning of the song. It’s his yearning for the love and idealism of the sixties, all the social awareness and push for societal change that basically faded away, giving way to conservatism, Reaganomics etc..that left people of the bygone era jaded and alienated, thus the bleak landscape of the video. It’s really well done and at first listen you don’t get the full meaning, but the video totally puts it into perspective and the meaning is deep… haunted and melancholy. Btw, I only got this much later on when I really stopped to think about it, so I don’t expect any reactors to derive any deeper meaning or delve any deeper than the surface references on a first listen, but thank you for doing this one video and all!
Good morning buddy! Hope you are doing well. Just want to see my buddy enjoying this early MTV classic. And you have and that puts a smile on my face. Happy Monday!!😊😊
He's only hindering himself from the younger generation if he kept doing that. Guess he finally came to his senses that UA-cam WILL PAY HIM for his music being used in videos.
I love the video but you might want to take it down. Don Henley and Glen Frey are very strict on any of their personal or Eagles videos being used like this. Another reaction channel was suspended for a while for the same reason.
This is one of the greatest songs ever if not the greatest!
It’s a perfect, perfect song. Writing, melody, production, just amazing.
kippers for breakfast, kippers for breakfast, kippers for breakfast.............

GREAT reaction! It's amazing that songs from nearly half a century ago are reaching a whole new audience today.

You would also love his song New York Minute. Another one of his many solo hits.

This is absolutely my favorite Don Henley song
Heart of the matter is also right there with it but yes this is still first
This song will never age it is just one of those all time feel good classics that will get anyone at any age to appreciate a well put together song - it is a timeless track.
Lady Tasha, you're the best. Always enjoy your joyful smile and intelligent, witty views and commentary of the music you work so hard to bring to us.
Love this song, and love your reaction, Tasha. Thanks for posting!

I was too young to get this when the song was new. It was actually just a few years ago that the irony dawned on me.
@MikeCoggan is it ironic, though? Give it more thought.
We were so free!
How refreshing to watch you sing along while bee bopping to the beat! Genuine is the way.
Lyrics by Don Henley music by Mike Campbell from the Tom Pettys Heartbreakers band played the guitar solo 🎸
Yep, Tom kicked himself later for passing on this one and letting Mike take it to Don Henley
Tasha was really feeling this classic tune. 👌
A fantastic feelgood song, by the one - the only Don!!😍
Every time I hear this now, I remember my brother learning the drum parts as a teen. 😁
My favorite Don Henley solo song is Dirty Laundry. Also you may want to check out The Eagles song Those Shows Henley sings that one too!
Wonderful watching you bop to this ole classic.

Definitely a sunny summer day driving tune!
This song has been in several movies, there’s also a cover by the Ataris that was popular in the 2000s or so.

"Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac", that line really hits home, you can't go back.
its for the band "The Greatful Dead" I think

Fantastic song!! 👏😊
This is a great song, lots of great songs came out of the’80’s.

😮
One of my favorite songs of all time. And blurry
Don Henley and Patti Smyth sing a great duet together on the song - Sometimes love just ain't enough. You should check it out 😊

“The Boys of Summer” is a common nickname for baseball players.
Ice is a common word for frozen water.
check out Don Henley & Stevie Nicks - Leather And Lace. a top ten single from 1981.
there are many, many excellent songs from don henley as a solo artist. feel free to dive into his albums! :)
Born in 76 this was my theme music😂 💯
If you can find his song "Dirty Laundry", give it a listen. You'll love it.
forever a banger long live the 80shjnb
Another Don Henley song you absolutely MUST check out is "Taking You Home"...
I've always loved this song more than any Eagles song, does that make me a bad person? Loved the reaction Tasha!
Excellent reaction, Tasha!
Loved it.

Anytime!
Love your channel.@@tashajackson
Don Henley what can you say 👌👌
Love this ❤
This is my favorite Don Henley song. If you haven't already, check out Dirty Laundry Tasha.
You've probably heard this in the grocery store
A dead head sticker on a Cadillac?… Ahh, the 80’s..
The kid on drums (Don 's Son )? isnot he?
Careful. This might be taken down and the channel might get a strike.
Dumb that they don't just allow people to enjoy the music
Agree, ridiculous copyright
Tasha, you need to listen to The One You Love by Don Henley such a beautiful song!
That’s a Glenn Frey song
Henley is a great artist, but he is very big player on copyright laws for artists.
Love the reaction 😀👍
Interesting that he will stop Eagles music with copyrights but has opened up his solo work.
He's only hindering himself from the younger generation if he kept doing that. Guess he finally came to his senses that UA-cam WILL PAY HIM for his music being used in videos.
Please check out the Eagle's live 1977 song "Take it to the Limit"
tasha lets get married. said everyone ever.
Be careful reacting to Don Henley and/or the Eagles. He's known to throw out copyright strikes.
Not in a movie as far as i know.
I love the video but you might want to take it down. Don Henley and Glen Frey are very strict on any of their personal or Eagles videos being used like this. Another reaction channel was suspended for a while for the same reason.
Glenn Frey has been dead for years.
@@joanreynolds955 Correct, but when he was alive he was against others posting Eagle videos.
