- This is a short demo on an experimental lap steel guitar I made from old wine boxes. Sadly I didn't think to film the construction until after I had completed it.
The tune is based on Ry Cooder's brilliant "Feelin' bad Blues" but played at a quicker tempo.
sweet build
Fantastic sound
well played
Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you liked it.
Thanks Nick, I certainly will.
John, that's a fantastic guitar - incredible sound, and superbly played. Better make another - and film it!
Congratulations on the project, it was incredible. How big is the scale and what tuning did you use?
Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it. It's 25.5 inch scale length and tuned to open D.
Thing is John, it’s brilliant, you play superbly well and it sounds great. But nobody likes a smart arse! 🤣
Thanks M4 . I'll bear that in mind....
That's a really good job there John. Excellent sound and playing. I used a 4x2 for my lap,but the wine box seeems to give a mellow tone. What is the tuning?
Thanks. I expect yours has a better tone. Without the amp this one sounds dead. The tuning is open D. (I usually play a Weisenborn)
...maybe ''welcome to my world'' is intro?
Hi Sebastiano.
Yes that's right. It was played on the Weissenborn.
