    Meiner Meinung nach hat Mozart eine für alle Zeiten „gültige“ Musik geschaffen, ohne Schwulst und ohne Bombast, einfach Musik, die überall auf der Welt verstanden werden kann.

    Sem Mozart a vida seria muito menos inspiradora. Artista divino, inspirado por Deus; pela eternidade, enquanto houver vida inteligente, sua música continuará a comover o coração humano

    This performance is definitive. Hard to believe how few attended this concert --a perfect performance, yet the hall seemed almost empty.

    For decades in my life have I listened to him playing Mozart's piano concertos with CDs and TV programs in Japan. I have always thought he was playing the piano as if he were Mozart himself.
    I am not trained in music so I may not be a suitable person to leave a comment on music. But I must confess that I have always been greatly inspired by his performances for Mozart's piano concertos.
    Now this performance makes me feel that Mozart might have played like this if he had lived longer. I actually felt his presence there. Vienna Philharmonic's sound is so sweet, tender and flexible. It was like a great empathy being sent to this genius pianist all the way.
    The nuances of music I receive from Mr. Barenboim are so divine. Like a genius has become more genius. Second movement not only made me so sad but also made me smile. The subtle swing of his tempo is what I have not heard from his earlier performances. That also made me cry and smile. It is really a work of art that only humans can demonstrate. (Sorry for my poor English grammar here....)

      It's a Barenboim straight-strung grand. He helped design it back in 2015. There's a fair bit about it on the net.

    Highly percussive and brittle playing by Barenboim. Much of the subtly of shading found by Giles , Curzon, Uchida and others is almost completely absent. The Larghetto
    with his embellishments are devoid of emotion.

      What do you want him to do, weep on the keys? And it's subtlety; not "subtly", which is the adverb form.

    • @charlesb466
      @charlesb466 2 роки тому

      @@roberthill799 Well your knowledge is not impressive. Look up the spelling of subtly and you will find both your and my spelling are correct. Sarcasm is not a feature of Mozart’s music. Barenboim has for many years not been considered a fine “classical” period pianist. There is no finesse in this performance. Highly mechanical and devoid of feeling. Nothing to do with tears.

    • @roberthill799
      @roberthill799 2 роки тому +5

      My correction of your mistake has absolutely nothing to do with spelling. It is about incorrect usage . You used “subtly” as a noun. “Subtly” is an adverb. You should have used “subtlety”. You’re welcome.

  • @charlesb466
    @charlesb466 2 роки тому

    Devoid of depth or true emotional connection by Barenboim. The Larghetto is very disappointing and lacks much of the nuance and shading that great pianists have found. Not helped by a brittle piano and his percussive style.
