Worried you’re botching your Shakespeare monologue? I’ve got you covered. Catch my exclusive mini training, 3 Big Shakespeare Mistakes (you don’t know you’re making). Here it is: shakespearewithsarah.com/mistakes/
I am not an actor, but Midsummer night's dream is my favourite of Shakespeare's plays, studied at school and loved at each live performance I have seen. From the RSC at Stratford upon Avon (absolutely magical and enchanting) to a contemporary dress production which used sellotape to fashion Titania's fairy bower (no mean fete). Recently I came across this monologue again and Googled it to refresh my memory, hence by a circuitous route, I came to your video. So glad I did! Great perspective into zPuck's character and role in the play. You are so engaging and you drew me right in by your vivid descriptions and insights. And I will always be grateful for your explanation of the pronunciation of "thou SPEAK'ST A'RIGHT"- I've had that wrong for 38 years! Thank you so much for this video.
I'm so glad to have stumbled across your videos! The research, analysis, and enthusiasm put into your work is so evident and a genuine joy to watch and learn from. I've heard this scene many a time and only after watching you discuss it this way do I feel I actually fully get what it means and can visualize Puck a lot better. So, thank you!
This is just the loveliest comment. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I appreciate it more than I can say! I do genuinely love making these videos and I’m so glad you found this one helpful! ❤️❤️❤️
Great analysis, I just got the part of Puck for a local production and am trying to research as much as I can. It'd be great if you did some more lines from the lively Robin Goodfellow, all of them are so fun, specifically "Now the hungry Lion roars..."
Loved the breakdown of this passage. Very insightful! Would love to see you breakdown the very end of the play and Puck's final monologue. If we shadows have offended.....

@@ShakespearewithSarah Good morning! Here is Brogan's interpretation of Thou Speak'st Aright. Love to hear your thoughts. ua-cam.com/video/I8Mts8qQAs8/v-deo.html
I LOVE your content! Thank you so much for doing these videos. So much unique advice and analysis, delivered with so much personality! I wonder whether you could do a 'how to perform' vid for Iago's 'Thus do I ever make my fool my purse...' monologue or 'that Cassio loves her, I do well believe't'? Thanks again!
Yes! I‘ve had a few Othello requests so I will try to do those monologues soon too 😊 Might still be a few weeks before I finish them though because I’ve had heaps of requests lately!
First one is ready! Thus do I ever: ua-cam.com/video/RKVHD0ctCQY/v-deo.html The other one should be up in a few days, Monday at the latest. Hope you enjoy! Iago is such a challenge.
