- John Constable: A collection of 248 paintings (HD)
Description: "Constable was, with Joseph Turner, the major English landscape painter of the 19th century. He is best known for his paintings of the English countryside.
John Constable was born on 11 June 1776 in East Bergholt in Suffolk, the son of a prosperous miller. He was educated at Dedham Grammar School, then worked for his father's business. He persuaded his father to send him to study at the Royal Academy Schools, which he entered in 1799.
In 1816, after much opposition from her father, Constable married Maria Bicknell. She suffered from tuberculosis, so they lived in Hampstead in north London, which was thought to be healthier than central London. In the early 1820s they began frequent visits to Brighton, also for Maria's health.
Constable believed that his paintings should come as directly as possible from nature. He made hundreds of outdoor oil sketches, capturing the changing skies and effects of light. He was happiest painting locations he knew well, particularly in his native Suffolk. He also frequently painted in Salisbury, Brighton and Hampstead, making numerous studies of the clouds over the Heath.
Maria's death in 1828 was devastating for Constable and left him responsible for their seven children. The following year he was belatedly elected to full membership of the Royal Academy. Constable received little other recognition in Britain in his lifetime, but was much better known in France. In 1824, 'The Hay Wain' won a gold medal at the Salon in Paris and Constable had a profound influence on French Romantic artists.
Constable died in London on 31 March 1837."

What gorgeous paintings I admire all of them! Great work! Thank you for showing them I LOVE LOOKING AT ART.
The best paintings ever done. It's the next best thing to a time machine.
Magnificent film on an amazing artist.
A trip back in time, he really saw the beauty in existence
Incredible in so many ways, including whoever gathered these images together! Thank you! So much to learn, here.
He's an example of painting as an artist... doesn't care what everyone else is doing , he's going to paint anyway, coarse as they may seem
Many are painted sketches in preparation for a finished, detailed painting. (Dot)

The English countryside has only one painter. John Constable.
@Philip Gomez and John Crome..
👏👏👏
Oh my gosh, I have the painting with the boy drinking from the creek and the dog and man. Mine needs a cleaning though.
The one at 1:16, is nice, also.
I like the one at 00:46
Big thanks- how about Samuel Palmer and John Crome?
8:18 : there's a similar painting of the cottage in the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff, but with the donkey on the right of the gate, and with a foal!

Does anyone know what order these paintings are in? chronological, or alphabetical by title? too bad they don't include the title somewhere on the screen.
Bellos cuadros

Womens constable, so nise.
Does anyone know who made the music ? Thank you.
I think its Rosanna Francesco but I cant find this exact piece.

one of my friends has one of his originals and it’s for sale
as amazing and fascinating his landscapes are, as a foremost landscape painter he absolutely failed in depicting rainbows. ;)

Unfortunately his attempts at impressionist painting rarely work.
He should have stuck to portraits.
Really? the same annoying and obnoxious music as in other videos? that's real pathetic. Mute and enjoy the art. Maybe find another video of real music and play simultaneously.
