  • Laguna Art Museum executive director, Dr. Malcolm Warner, and curator of historical art, Janet Blake, give a virtual tour of "Granville Redmond: The Eloquent Palette." The exhibition is the largest survey of the painter’s work ever assembled and the first in more than thirty years dedicated to this leading figure in California Impressionism.
    The exhibition was organized by the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, CA, and will be on view at Laguna Art Museum from June 28 through September 20, 2020.

    Granville Redmond wasn’t “made mute” by Scarlet fever. He became deaf as a young child and didn’t speak afterwards because he was so young when it happened. This is a big difference. He wasn’t “mute,” he just didn’t speak and communicated via sign language.
