This 11 foot Superior was one of the more comfortable gathered end hammocks I used. There are many hammocks with a good lay, but insulating them to be comfortable would be the trick: finding & fitting the right bottom quilt or inflatable pad.
@livinlarge1247 So I've taken mine down to 18 without an issue, but you do want to make sure the down is distributed along the baffle. You can just brush the down with your hand from one side to the other. Shug has a video where he shows this, which is where I picked up on the trick. edit: You can get it suuuper warm if you distribute the down asymetrically on your lay- head right feet left or feet left head right, but shouldn't need to do all that.
The one I have seems true to its 30F temperature. As the temperature gets closer to 25F I notice the cooler spots by where the baffles are sewn. I am not sure how the SG 30F is supposed to be, but my Hammock Gear runs a different baffle that is not sewn through, worthy of noting. The con to the HG design might be more weight. Last I checked with SG, it orientated its baffles differently below a certain temperature, say -15F or whatever.
Beautiful hammock is it really comfortable

Is there plenty of shoulder room without tie outs like a Blackbird XLC or Simply Light Trail Lair?
E-lite = elite. :)
If u use a pad with yer quilts does it cause there ta be condensation under the pad?
I haven't noticed cold baffle spots with my SG hammock. Did they accidentally sew thru the baffles on the flawed closeout version?
