Agricola is all about the cards! I love how each game is so different based on the cards. I consider drafting to be half the game, I take my time and enjoy looking at 36 cards each play!
That's brilliant! You are talking about The Gate, right? After reading your comment I looked at my copy of Caylus and indeed The Gate which features an illustration of an archway works in a similar fashion the This Archway card. Very cool!
This was a really interesting recap format! I'd certainly be interested in more (not so fussed about the deck choices - just nice to see different Agricola strategies).
This is exactly what I wanted to know, thank you so much! I'm realising that now I have so many cards I'm going to have to separate the decks just so that I can manage them. Eventually I will probably have to choose a way to mix them up...but how? Take a certain number from each? Shuffle two together? hmmm.....
Question, I noticed you have Agricola Mayfair revised Ed with expansion decks from Lookout version. Is cards’ colours and arts of the Lookout version expansion decks compatible with the Mayfair edition base game if you mix it altogether? Thank you.
I have never given this any thought and I have not had a problem. As long as you have the revised edition then any of the A, B, C, D, C&D expansion packs from lookout should be fine. It's the same game even though it's different publishers. Thanks for the question :-)
That was quite interesting, although I'm a little sad that you felt you had to conceal the fact that you were recording the game. Yes, do please continue with more! Earned my sub...
Thanks for the sub and comment Geoff! I was trying to be discreet because we were still playing at midnight and it would have been too much to ask the guys to stop while I take notes etc. However, after the encouraging comments on this video, I want to get players agreement beforehand so that we can stop between rounds and so on. Then I can concentrate on my turns! But I must admit I could still score 34, I often have poor games of Agricola. But I keep coming back...
@@MisterG2323 Sounds like it could be helpful! I will let you know. And you might check out my other Highlights videos is you are interested in session logs. Any feedback is welcome :-)
2:34 blue player can not to go to "Major/Minor improvement and go to "Archway" instead and use "Mi/Mi" with last action. 6:50 "Witches' dance floor" card DOESN'T have all of "Fireplace" improvement effects. Comment from Grzegorz Kobiela from Lookout Games: "Witches' Dance Floor: Error on the card; it does not come with the Fireplace effects. You can exchange it for a hearth though." The Witches Dance Floor has baffled me since I opened my copy of the Dulcinaria deck and so thank you so much for this information! I really wanted to know this. That makes a lot more sense! I don't really understand your comment about 2:34. After you use the Archway, you can go on any unoccupied action space after all other players have had their turn. However I would not be surprised if there are errors in this session log, it was a struggle to recall the game because I did not have detailed notes. Any corrections are most welcome, thanks :-)
@@UnfussyBoardGames 2:34 I said blue player may not go to "Major improvement/Minor Improvement" immediatelly, and may go to "Archway" before instead. It wasn't seem somebody will use "Mi/Mi" action space this round. So he can get additional 1 food this way. This was just my own idea My English isn't so well, sorry about it
@@UnfussyBoardGames I've bought all the Artifex, Bubulcus, Corbarius and Dulcinaria decks few months ago, there are some similar strict errors or misunderstanding in cards. I always use boardgamegeek forum in case of doubts. And I agree: if "Witches' dance floor" can be used strictly as described, it will be toooo overpowered card.
@@gandibaat3637 Right, that makes sense. It's actually what happened but I messed up the recording of it and so it was a good spot by you. Crikey, I will be feeling the pressure next time I record one of these :-D !
I am really enjoying these game recaps
I’ve got to get some of these additional decks.

Archway looks like a reference to the excellent 2005 game Caylus!

Do you play with each deck seperately or do you mix and match decks into one giant deck?
I think they are designed to be played separately (maybe it says so in the rule book?) and I am not a maverick when it comes to board games. 🙂
