- The first mow on the Perennial Ryegrass today with the Toro Greensmaster 1000! This is one of my favourite mows on this lawn. It's always awesome to see the lawn like this after doing a complete lawn renovation.

I love the aerial shots where it shows the other yards, straight flexing 😉
Unintentional flex 😂
No one:
Absolutely Nobody:
Not a single soul:
Ben: lawn is in desperate need of a cut we’re at 35mm
And yet we're here.
I can't get over how quickly your yard evolves. My lawn looks the same for weeks. Yours goes through multiple renovations, bore installations, scalps, etc. in 4 days
rainey06au I think the key is aeration, correct me if I’m wrong
@@productproduction21 Yes, aeration is beneficial, but just as important are regular irrigation and fertilization
Aeration is a huge key.
Topdressing and overseeding was a huge help as well. Plus the watering schedule 👌🏽
Depends on what lawn you have ive found. This lawn we see in the video is absolutely crazy but all i do here in Victoria is water the lawns on dusk and try keep them long and cut every weekend. Every so often i wont catch it so the grass acts like a fertilizer im guessing and the ask from the pot belly ash gets spread around where its not growing and in 2 weeks with a bunnings airrator thing and some seed and feet mix. Maybe im doing it worng but it definitely works a treat.
i turn 18 in a couple weeks and i’m the one who mows the lawn in my house, i just got a beaten up riding mower and an acre of land so it takes about 45 mins front and back since my mowers messed up, i literally weed whack (whipper snapp i think you call it? i’m from states) every other time i mow and i mow maybe once a month, so everything you do i’ll probably never do but it’s so interesting to watch your videos
Jeeeez howd you do them before the ride on?
Once a month?? Where do you live, Arizona? haha
Always remember the 1/3 rule. Never cut more than 1/3 of the grass height off.
Minnesota every 2 weeks. We have a bigger lawn and I’m lazy so not every week
The stripes are back!!
Your little blokes are absolute champions.
You are making me want to own a section mate. I imagined I would get into this around 60, here I am late 20s
I’m in my late 20’s too man, it’s a lot more fun that you’d think 😉
Lawn Tips Ben I wish more in their late 20’s had an interest in there lawns like you do, most 20 something year olds couldn’t be bothered with doing their lawns especially if they’ve worked a day job through the week...”Oh I’m too tired” I applaud you for the way you look after your lawn and with 3 kiddos as well at such a young age...Good On You. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻...I Hope your setting an example to many young men out there, I wish some of my young neighbours would watch your videos Lol 😂
ooO Ooo Hey I’m #60 Lol 😂 and I’ve been doing our lawn since my early 20’s when we married young and NO I Wasn’t Pregnant Lol 😂, we had 2 acres back then and a ride on mower, now we live in the Suburbs with a lot smaller block and it’s a Dream, makes life a lot easier, Ben is an inspiration to All you young ones out there to get off your Butts and look after your Lawns 😉😉😊😊
@@-nellie-m3711 I can't argue with that
I have developed such an interest in growing grass thanks to you ever since I found your channel. Some great content and information especially for those with little to no experience like myself. I’ve just built a new home and need to get the landscaping done but all your advice I’ll be taking on board. Simply awesome and can’t wait to get mowing! All the best Clint
Awesome!! Love it!
water that green everyday and it will look mint for defs!
Ive been up for legit hours watching you and i FINALLY ginished and you upload again.
You’d love it in Florida grass never dies and stays bright green all year
So glad I rewatched your renovation videos...making me feel better about a few barespots I have at day 8 of my renovation with rye.
Love the videos I would like to see more edging it is satisfying to see the straight lines
Your lawn is looking awesome..nearly back to where it was before the drought, water restriction and bore installation.. and i also love the first couple of mows after a reno..great job Ben!
Thanks mate!! It’s been a bit of a journey. Glad to be nearly done.
Looks mint!
You make the best lawn care vids around mate, always interesting and full of useful info👍
Love the videos mate only found and subscribed to your channel today and watched so many. Looking forward to seen more 👍
Your neighbors must be envious of your lawn.
We're getting so close to the start of growing season here in Georgia. I was able to give the grass I planted last fall a cut and put down some fert. These videos are getting me pumped for warmer temps!
Not long now mate!!
I just found your videos yesterday and I can’t stop watching I’ve watched 20 already
Haha, thanks mate! Glad you aren’t bored of me yet
I never realized how big the greensmaster is compared to the mowers you have used in the past but I can see the difference just by seeing you walking behind it. Beast 👍🏼
They are big boys hey haha
Looking great! Can't wait to see the green completely filled in.
Those toro mowers are good. We have one of those at work that we use to cut or cricket wickets at GMHBA stadium in Geelong . Keep up the great work👍🏼
Looking so good so quick!
Whoa! That drone shot pulling back showing the color blew my hair back! Wow! Just a week or two ago, your neighbors had all the green and you had mostly dirt. Now your lawn is like an oasis in the desert! Rock on!
Coming along nicely.😎👍👍
George, good early Wednesday morning, ☕️☕️😎
I love your videos. Old man thought me this once. Through you're fertilizer while it's raining, that way it can't burn your grassroots. That's how we do it in South Africa👍
Nice job, loved the aerial view. 👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸
Lovely. I have Toro Greenmaster 1600
Serviced today . Also overseeded as we are having rain for tha next 11 days!
@Lawn Tips you should do a 3-5 day timelapse of your grass growing that would be cool
Personally I think it would be like watching grass grow.... 😜
@@Mrbeast0099 lol
Garrett Thompson and yes I would watch it ha
@@Mrbeast0099 yea i know you were giving me a hard time
So good to see the stripes back boi 🤙
Unreeeeel ! Looks so awesome! 😎👊
Looks awesome man
Dude the lawns looking great!
Looking sharp, bro! Love it.
Lovely bit of kit Ben.
Looking sensational.
Thanks legend 👌🏽
Lawn has come back really well, happy days
It's nice see the lawn returning back to it's former glory!
I’m getting very excited with how close it is 😍
Looking so good!
love the mower!
One would think a beautiful lawn be a more popular thing in the neighbourhood
I have Greensmaster 1000 as well and I love it. Awesome video as usual mate!
Hi mate, where can i find a used greensmaster? i have been looking everywhere for it. Thanks
Looking nice mate.
Looking awesome bro. 👍🏽
Toro sure makes some quality reel mowers....jealous.
Looking good brother, love the full kit on the little fella as well #YNWA
He loves that kit. Can’t get him out of it sometimes haha
Mate looking mint
Not sure how I got here but I'm enjoying it
That's how many of us get here. It's been well over a year now 😅
Looks great.
Filling in nice mate.
Lawn is looking great! I love the connection i have walking mowing greens and tees versus the triplex but have never been able to master that one handed tear drop turn.
Thanks mate!! Where you working? The walk behinds are something different aren’t they.
Cape Arundel, Maine, USA. Summer home of two former presidents so our standards are very high. Members wish for us to switch to the walk mowers but we simply don’t have the staff to manage such a task.
looks good 👍
Yo mate (Mr. Toro Rep.) nice stripes on your stadium pitch! My kikuyu is just starting to wake up in California. Can't wait for mowing season!
Smoking it with the editing and tracks locked to the footage. Unreal. Rob
Triple cut! Looks great mate
Thanks you sir 👌🏽
Hopefully the green will be greener soon
Mint boi!!!
Won’t be long and you’ll be back at it!
Reminds me of a baseball field. Great job.
nice hat dude
Damn your grass looks so short but looks mint. I like mine a bit longer than 18mm because if feels so nice.
That toro looks like a real mans mower in your yard!
Don’t worry soon enough you’ll be able to whip the machine around without having to stop. Used the same mower for 2 years working at a golf course
Bloody nice. Ben, would you have any idea why I would have ripples in the lawn after mowing with my restored SM45 17inch
I think the most amazing part of this is that he has kids that aren’t face deep in an iPhone. Kids are intrigued in what their father is doing and playing outside almost every episode..
What are the bricks for? I love those mowers man. Probably my favourite mowers to use, mowing greens and tees with them is a dreeeeeeam I love them.
They are on top of the drains. It was to stop seed washing down. Previous years I’d lost a lot of seed down those drains.
Such a crisp mower 👌🏽 love it!
Man that rye is looking the bomb, just did a full Reno on my lawn yesterday with rye hopefully get good results. Just a quick question any tips or ideas on how to keep the birds off the lawn and eating the seed, there doin my head In cheers Adam
Good stuff as usual mate. Do you document how much materials such as your granular/liquid ferts, seeds, mower maintenance etc cost? Or would rather keep that to yourself? Would be interesting to see how much it adds up each season.
Your grass is so good at first sight I think it’s fake but then I realise and shocked. If you ever have a pool right next to ur lawn, gosh it’s an young but Also great camera shots and with
the drone.
Very nice! I see you don't have this condition but I'm looking at the GM1000 and the only thing holding me back is I have a slight slope on one part of my yard. Any thoughts about a greens mower and small slopes?
Look at that cute LFC fan at 5:11. I'm sure he's happy with the 3rd spot in the 20/21 PL season! Cool ball tracking at 5:15. How did you do that? Frame-by-frame adjustment or some kind of tracking feature of the software?
You sir love your grass more than Snoopdogg
Yo Ben! Lawn looks awesome! i was wondering if you were planning on doing a video on when its the best time to apply a herbicide to your lawn after a renovation? I'm over in the blue mountains and my couch is still recovering from the drought and water restrictions and now weeds are becoming a problem just wondering when to start spraying herbicide? renovation done about a week ago
I’ll be doing one very soon 👌🏽
If it was just a renovation without overseed though, you should be fine nearly at any point after Reno
Looking very good Ben how good is Toro mower
1:23
"Aquí"
As a spanish native speaker, I appreciate that LOL
I think he said “like here” with his accent
That was in fact 'like heeere'
Spencer George nah, guaranteed its spanish
#teamtoro welcomes you!!
Great backyard. I wonder where the water goes when it rains heavily 🤔
You're an animal, looks tip top mate!
Haha, thanks mate
Crazy just the difference in a day after the cut with fert and water. When do you plan to start with the PGR ? Looks awesome Ben.
Will be using it very soon. The grass is growing very quick now
The GM1000 is awesome, though I find it is wearing patches in my Sir Grange, where I stop and turn 180. It's a heavy rig. Maybe it is the way I am doing it, any chance you can give us a demo. I think it's the operation of the clutch lever for me, as I also have a protea and find the squeeze clutch heaps easier.
cheers from the Sunshine Coast
Hi Mate, where can i find a used Greensmaster 1000 from? thanks
How do you prevent compaction when you mow the green everyday. I tried a putting green last season and mowing everyday compacted my soil so much that it became hydrophobic. I put down some wetting agent but it compacted again after a couple weeks.
Can you do a backyard cricket pitch please? The kid in me wants to know how I can produce a serious deck for my kids to practice on
Looking mint mate. You getting many seed heads with your TiffTuff still? Still getting them over the last week or so and it's only been high 20s to low 30s.
Not get many now. Areas that I chip from have quite a bit of seed head though which means it’s showing signs of stress.
You using liquid ferts much?
@@LawnTips just put your special mix down a few days ago. Before that would have been start of January.
Mr. Lawntips do you know how to grow other plants well or only grass?
could i mix tall fescue seed and perenial rye and overseed with it to get a deep green lush grass?
Kid has the right shirt. YNWA
I like your videos. But I will say this to you straight up!!! The thing I like the most is this--- you understand that there are 10,000 words in the English language and that the use of the 10-15 four-lettered ones is really just not necessary nor appropriate for YOU-TUBE or any where else for that matter. I appreciate that about you!!! You have a couple of beautiful Boys God has blessed you with and my guess is that their Dad realizes that He will set their course by His example. NICE my Friend Nice!!! Peace... Sam Mccartt Jr. Reidsville NC...
Yo Ben , what up, welcome to another lawn tip vid comment!
Yoooo
👍
Hi just wondering why you got rid of the hedges you were growing?
So can you use this as a regular mower or mainly for golf course greens?
I’ve been looking at a green master flex, is it any good compared to a normal one? I can’t see if that’s a good or bad thing.
Also with the toro 1000 what height did u mow the the lawn in this vid what inch? Sorry never watch all the vid. U may of mentioned it.
Is that mower still running? Any issues with it. How many hours on it?
Ben, We could I lay my hands on one of those height adjustment measures.
Golf course wholesalers usually have them, we use a digital version at the golf course I work at, but I think they are pretty pricey
What does it do with the clippings?
Last Aussie 😁
Peat moss can also cause disease by holding to much moisture especially with certain turf grasses, more so with bermuda and bentgrass. For greens mix thats why we use 5% at most 10% and the rest sand, with fairways and tees we use more but for those who over water or water at the wrong time so the grass stays wet for a extended period allowing for disease, Peat can do more harm than good. Wetting agents and growth regulators have been proven to help more moisture but not so much like Peat
Could someone please explain how the grass has those lines in it? Is it multiple passes? Just the direction of the cut? Or is it a change in height?
It’s from the way the grass is laying 👍🏽 so the light green is the grassing laying away from you, the dark green is the grass laying towards you. It’s done with the rollers on the reel mower.
So if i was Ben's neighbour and i wanted to pay Ben his usual rate plus pay for all supplies needed to care of my lawn, how much would this cost?
Bluegrass would just about be germinating and you’re mowing lol
Looking great from the states
Yo bro! Hope it’s warming up for you 👌🏽
Its getting there. 50°s (10c) in the day but 20°s F (6-7c) at night. Watching guys like @paulsprimecuts down south and getting itchy.
