    Karl! Do you like the lemo pin and sdi cables seperate? I saw cableflexer makes one where you can have those combined. Was considering getting that potentially instead of the two cables separate. The other thing I always like is the right angle SDI attachments, with your lemo pin calbe if you had to get another would you also want right angle attachment for going into the monitor (other end D-tap of course on battery plate)? Assuming all of these are 2ft long. We are going to build out two FX6s at work possibly in a similar style with a 5inch SmallHD monitor kind of where you placed yours. So I'm interested to hear your take on it!

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  Рік тому +2

      Hey Alex! First, your content is great! Been watching it for a bit now.
      I have the combination cable now and I like it way better it is at the end of this video. ua-cam.com/video/dQYJI094suQ/v-deo.htmlsi=cnKOZU9dPgDg0vIr
      Go with the straight SDI and Lemo, they fit way better and the 90 is a pain in the ass in the monitor. Hope that helps. They are solid cables and make it so clean with the single cable. Thanks for the view and comment, cheers!

    • @mueller_alex
      @mueller_alex Рік тому +1

      @@KarlWeinreich Thank you! Just watched your other video. Ill probably order exactly what you had for the 2ft combo cable just with lemo instead of dc because we would get the new Cine 5 monitor most likely.
      Love your nuanced gear videos that provide good ergonomics and insight. Not just about “make it a bigger rig to be cool”. Always great stuff to help others learn. Keep them going!

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  Рік тому +2

      @@mueller_alex Those monitors look awesome! If money wasn't a thing I would for sure have the 7 and 5in monitors. Those 5's would be great on the side of the camera, just smaller and easier to use. Make sure to measure several times (not that you don't know this already) I got super scared it wasn't going to be long enough for all my set ups and I added an extra inch and a half at the last second, glad I did.
      I appreciate the kind words on my videos. I just have fun making them and building a rig is cool but using it is wayyy cooler haha. I will keep em coming and you keep creating that content! Cheers!

    Hi, this is an intelligent, clean rig. Importantly I learnt about the simple Kondor Blue Mini Quick Release Plate... but cannot figure what the adapter is between the Kondor Blue QL plate and the Wooden Camera 15mm Bolt-On Rod. Looks like you pre-fitted it... it would be awesome if you could give a link for that. I have not seen a monitor mount that looks so efficient. Thanks !

    How does the balance feel with a 7” off to the side? I have the exact setup but with a SmallHd 5” currently and sometimes would like to have the 7” but was worried about it feeling really left side heavy and awkward

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  6 місяців тому +1

      It can be pretty left side heavy. I use an Easy-Rig and that makes it way easier to handle and takes all the weight off it. I have changed the way I have set up my rig now though. I use the monitor center mounted. I do get into situations where I would love it on the side but without a shoulder rig or Easy-Rig I wouldn't run it like that any longer. How do you like the 5" on the side? I have though about getting one of those for that reason. Thanks for the comment, Cheers!

    • @kylebamberger6929
      @kylebamberger6929 6 місяців тому +1

      With the 5" off the side, it is perfectly balanced for handheld work. I highly recommend it! @@KarlWeinreich

      Ye i got that small rig arri. But I had ordered the cage kit and it comes with a bottom dovetail plate. Did you attach a vct plate to the bottom of that to have the quick release? Also on that dove taill plate, it has these two screws that make it impossible to get that plate on, and i had no luck un screwing them lol
      @@KarlWeinreich

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  Рік тому +1

      Ah gotcha, you could just use that with what ever tripod head quick release you have. Or attach the Quick release with the two screws. My email in in here www.youtube.com/@KarlWeinreich/about
      Email me and I will send you pictures of the way I attached it. Thanks!

    Great rig! Any issues with the Wooden camera battery slide screws? I've read that some people have stripped the threads or the battery slide has come loose.

    • @KarlWeinreich
      @KarlWeinreich  Рік тому +2

      Thanks! Haven’t had any issues yet, I try to remove it as little as possible and when I travel with it I put some padding around the battery slide. They are small screws and there aren’t a lot of threads in there but overall it is the best one in my eyes. You can run a Sony battery at the same time and get to the card port. I want to get a 15mm rail mount to put on the bottom of it for extra support on those bigger batteries. The cables are 1.7 feet. I would get 1.5 if I were to do it again.
