Hey guys, I dont like to post serious comments such as this but i saw this add on TV and it really hit me. Unfortunately about a year ago i attempted to take my own life in this way. Luckily i missed most of my head but lost a good part of my nose and lips. My dad was the one who found me and had to take the gun away before I took a second shot. For whoever it may help, if you notice your son or daughter beeing a bit quite or sad, just be safe and always put guns in a locked safe. And if the thought of hurting yourself ever even flashes though your mind for a second - talk to someone please. I dont think suicide is very selfish and please remember those who succeeded with kindness, but the guilt of succeeding or suviving is terrible and causes terrible pain to your family. My dad and I’s relationship and memories are identical to the ones in this video, he is the most loving man ever but some things just cant be fixed. I love you dad.
To me, this is a positive gun safety ad. It deals with the fact that some people want, have, and/or need guns in their lives in a realistic way rather than an unrealistic “just don’t have a gun” message, while promoting proper safety and storage. As a big pro gun guy and an avid Hunter, I approve of this ad. I have no children yet myself but if I do I’ll get a variety of safes for my firearms to keep them safe.
@@THEWARDEN809 I never said all of my guns. I’ll always have one ready, but I’ll do like my dad did when he had me and keep my loaded home defense gun somewhere out of reach of children. I think this is a good psa. In australia, its required by law to have 2 different safes when you have a gun license, but thats not implemented everywhere. But also, as someone who has attempted to ykw themselves, its important to make sure teens and kids dont have easy access to things that can kill them (like guns, medications, drugs etc) because its not hard to at least try take your own life once you get in that mindset
I love this PSA. I've never cried or related to a video like I have to this one. I've battled severe depression for many, many years and I've felt everything that this young man has, especially the pen + paper moment. Sometimes, I still feel like giving up, but I realize there are people out there who care. Please know that you're not alone, and that there is someone out there who cares, whether you believe it or not.
I've been close to this point in my life. I just started getting some real bad thoughts at work and thought about the ways I could take my own life, sad thing is that this wasn't even the first time I thought about it. Before I had ultimately decided to use pills and alcohol to just drift away. But going through the various methods in my head, when I thought about a gun, my thoughts changed. Before it was ruled out because I didn't want to make a mess and traumatize my family with that image. But as I thought about a gun that day at work something in me changed and I realized that the only reason I really ruled it out was because I didn't have a permit for a gun. I started bawling and broke down right there. When I got home I told my mom and she immediately started to look up therapists and she told me everything was gonna be okay and just talked to me about 4 or 5 hours about anything and everything we could think of. While I haven't gone to a therapist I promised my mom that if anything like that popped up in my head that I would immediately go to her and we would just sit down to talk. If you ever find yourself in a low point, don't be scared to talk to your family, the love and support they give you can be a literal lifesaver.

If you live with someone who is going through depression or has expressed suicide ideation, then that person needs to have Zero access to firearms. More ads like this please, most just blame the gun as causing all the problems, people switch off and disregard it as propaganda. Though, more than a gun safe, that kid obviously wasn't being helped, if even after a "talk" with a therapist he was still going to go through with suicide, maybe something 'more' than a talk. @@Ravie3no it’s not, most suicide cases are planned out heavily. Also did you ever consider the fact you can kill yourself with literally anything? This is beyond belief, how are you supposed to protect your family when you need the guns? The parents failed to raise their child properly and to respect guns and his own life. And I see some people trying to argue that he's not selfish, that boy is beyond selfish for trying something like that. Also, just locking guns in a safe, which if he tried, wouldn't have been a problem to get through by force; those guns would not prevent a kid from offing themselves, as there's so many options for a guaranteed success. P.S. sorry for the long comment, wanted to say more but this is enough.
Don’t be soft about guns you teach them young and in the old days people would have a gun hanging about in case of emergency where anyone could get it. That’s how it should still be

it's hard to get to a high enough bridge when you don't live in the city
@@Strawberry.12peachice Also it’s harder to force yourself off a height, all your instincts are against it.
@@Ravie3 Wouldn't your instincts be against knowingly offing yourself by a gun just the same?
You made this about gun safety but I cried
Even safer thing, don't have a gun !

“A safe and a couple pictures saved my life” bro just because the guns are locked away won’t make you any less suicidal 😂
Suicide is often impulsive, and the person may get better.
@@Ravie3no it’s not, most suicide cases are planned out heavily. Also did you ever consider the fact you can kill yourself with literally anything? A gun and a car are both ways to do it, and it the short story the kid has a car. This is a stupid psa, it focuses on guns when it should focus on the suicide itself
Make a difference: don’t own guns

Meanwhile in India A for Apple 🍎 B for ball .....
I dont even cry in these called ,,sad videos'' or whatever they are called but man...this?...this was too much it was too sad.

Don’t be soft about guns you teach them young and in the old days people would have a gun hanging about in case of emergency where anyone could get it. That’s how it should still be
In other words don’t be a pussy like liberal retards what you to be.
