I still remember hearing this song for the first time. I was a metal head who hated pop music and I said “this is going straight to number 1” and it was MY JAM! Such a great track! Now it makes sense why it hooked me, not really a pop song haha.
I thought it was purposeful word play! “Y O U are” as a kid blew my mind bc I thought it was trying to play on “Why are you”- making this hard. But then I realized I was dyslexic years later and that it probably didn’t make sense
I think you got away with the mispelling because we hear: “why - oh - you are making this hard?” (Which also makes sense in the song. “oh” is just a musical filler often used in songs) Instead of: “YOUR making this hard.”
I will say this until I'm black and blue. You created Beyonce's song "Halo". And then sneakily passed on the song "Already Gone". To Kelly Clarkson. Which share the same chorus and structure, allowing both singers to not know that the songs that they released were exactly the same. you are talented but that was a shifty move and I know that us fans and the artists will not forget.
research on what? no one knew about it... interviews arent ever expected or even supposed to do a full on phd degree of the freaking song lyrics. even the guy being interviewed says no one knows that!

I always thought it was "Y, O, U, are" so he got away with that one😂
I heard it as why are you agh making this hard … interesting.

the song lyrics are more clever than I thought... hated the song at the time though
It was so loud for no reason!! Like maybe the instrumental had clashing things or something
Made your mind go into SOS mode lol
He put together number 1 songs from the 80s to make the 2nd verse, quite smart., is this what Kendrick did with Broccoli?
I always thought it was "Y-O-U are" not "Y-O-U-R" ahhhhhh
( Y-O-U) are and (Y-O-U-R) sound exactly the same
Take a sip of your drink every time any of these two says LIKE...
no one cares
I started the video over & now I'm drunk!
Great interview, thanks
He looks like seth rogan
He absolutely does
Post all song titles from the lyrics.
the beat of the song is also a clear reference to soft cell's tainted love

I always thought it was “ Y.O.U. are making this hard!”
“Do it again!”
S.O.S……O.S.
This freaking was clever
Love it in every way
This whole time, I KNEW someone got lazy with the writing on the “Y O U R” bit, confirmation after so many years 😂

Crazy bc no one knows who Christine Milian is anymore 😅 everybody know Rihanna
why are sitting next to each other on a couch. What kind of podcast is this?
The interviewer was pretty clueless. Doing research beforehand would greatly help.
