Check the breather on the nib, most of the time the vent has debri inside. I recently purchased the triple tail and it was railroading and sometimes no flow. I check the nib and found the breather was completely blocked. I cleaned it out and now the flow is perfect. The pen now writes flawlessly.
I like it for it's wetness and ability to use the 308 screw-in reusable cartridges. Regarding flex, my recently purchased Pilot 743 has surpassed all my previous flex pens.
Great video review. I love mine, although I use it for drawing and sketching mostly. In the video is looks to me like you are not using the breather tube. Is this the case, or a trick of the light? I can't get mine to work without the breather tube.
Thank you for the very thorough review. I have so much wanted to love this pen since it was introduced. I really like Nathan's viewpoint and want to support his company. But I have a love-hate relationship with my Ahab (currently love). Sorry to say, you haven't made my purchase decision any easier.!
Mine is frustrating. No burping, but it simultaneously puts down a bead of ink- need to let my notebook dry out to keep it from smudging- and railroads on one of the tines like yours. I feel like mine doesn't just railroad if I go too quickly, though- it seems random. I haven't tried adjusting the nib yet, but I'm not super optimistic.
Remove the nib on your pen and ckeck the breather passage way for blockage. It may not be getting the proper air and ink exchange through the top of the nib. The passage on mine was completly blocked. I cleaned it out and now it writes great.

Thanks, Mick. I've been curious about these triple-tine Noodler's nibs. I enjoyed the video.
Mine is fantatstic and has worked flawlessly for about a year. For the price, it's amazing.

I thought three tines is a music nib.
Yes, and I believe Nathan at noodlers refers to it as a music nib. Though to my understanding most music nibs are not flex nibs.
