This was really helpful. I have one question though, in the bottom right there's a bullet and a number next to it, what do they mean?
@@celtoucan4956 The bullet icon changes color to indicate how much ammo your weapon has left, and the number next to it indicates how many magazines/clips you have remaining.
Forgive me if I missed it, but it might be worth mentioning that the White Phosphorus for the Brits can kill as well as create smoke. Just as a head's up for new players like myself...who may have assumed it was standard smoke like the other factions, and thought I'd try to save our squad from the tank that was pinning us down, and instead just set our squad lead on fire...
Had the same issue started the game litterally today threw a white phosphorus and set a lot of people on fire luckily my squad was understanding and forgave me I think 😂
Very thorough guide, well done. Couple things to add for new players, if you're using a rifle and you're crouching by a sandbag, window, or even a tree, you will see a bipod icon in the bottom right. This indicates that you are virtually resting your weapon on said sandbag or w/e. This adds additional support so your weapon won't sway. Also not sure if you mentioned fire modes with single and auto firing.

Some squad leaders are arseholes and cut you out of the squad as soon as you mention you are new to the game and dont understand all the jargon

Just started. Really love the game got a lot of help already. I just say i'm new and definitely don't want to annoy anyone or myself by picking sqaudlead.
200 plus hours still learning don’t worry new peeps it’s a hard leaning curve but so fun trust us free look is an amazing skill to use and lean also if you wanna play tanks holding control and moving your mouse moves your periscope, there is also an option to auto cycle your bolt.

F3R6O3 hey just gotta take a role that’s not so overwhelming what I tell my squad when I’m leading is play your role. If you are anti tank go get them, sniper go pin them down, rifle man, cover objective and shoot stuff ,mg cover lines of fire it’s easy :)

I remember my first time playing was during a free weekend and I decided to make a squad for my friend and I that eventually filled up. We quickly realized that not only was their squad leader inexperienced with me only having 5 hours at this point but also that the squad as a whole was entirely new to the game. Most fun I had the whole game as we all just fucked about trying our hardest
You say not to try out squad lead until you've got some hours in the game... but... let me tell you my experience. No one wanted to be squad lead, so they made me squad lead, and then got all pissed when I didn't know wtf I was doing. That's the running theme in my first 10 games.
Every game ever is like that. It's on Sandstorm, too. I abandoned console (my one S died and couldn't find a series S or X for almost two months) so now I don't have my buddies. On top of that my new PC has dual ports for mic and headphones so until my splitter comes in I can't even communicate effectively in games.
I feel like the British should also get access to a browning high power for at least squad leaders and snipers since they were there, at least at Arnhem.
lol coming from Arma 3 I was expecting the weapon sway on no stamina to be sliding all over the screen.
Love the game so far.... sadly in my 2nd game i got tricked into NCO role (the squad creator left) and then everyone was pissed at me for leaving and rejoining even though I explained to them I have no clue yet after playing it for like half an hour... lol
Correction: the medic's bandage can heal players to full at once, only non-medic's bandage can only heal players to partial health.
I'm discussing a bleed out scenario, one to patch, one to full heal

It's an utter shame they've replaced the range with that virtual abomination.
I think another good way to shoot moving targets is to aim some more distance infront of their route and wait till they cross your suspected leading distance, then shoot. Letting the enemy run into your sight is better for your aim and you have a higher chance of hitting. Especially if you are a newer player.
This btw can be used in any game that lets you shoot at moving things. You have to stand still for that tho. Or atleast walk/crouch/prone very slowly around.
If you can afford a set-up to run this game, there's no excuse to be not have a mic.
What if you just want to play a realistic game alone?

@@maarcoo97 Well, if the player really cares about playing a REALISTIC game, he should remember that soldiers scream their lungs off comunicating with each other while fighting in war... no one stay quiet on the war when theres important information to be shared.

That is one very nice training center and firing range. Great job. Is it available for training in the game? Should be! Basic training is vital.
The "community" is highly dependent on what servers you join. Much like squad.

MOST servers have certain Squad Leaders who kick you for certain reasons (ex; Not speaking their language in an ENGLISH server, Accidental TK (x1, to name a few)
Had already watched another tutorial video on this game, but i appreciate how much emphasis you put on the fact that this is NOT a Battlefield game. I am definitely spending some time before i jump into a server and fuck up everyone's day :P

I would love to see grasshoppers (a scout plane) so we could scout out the surroundings easier, if they do they should make it have a very small fuel tank, so like 2 minutes or something.

I am new to PS as well as many others on here, and have only about 8 hrs/5 games under my belt. Wondering why the 'Tutorial' section in the main menu isn't implemented yet? How long has PS been out? Thanks for the video as it will most definitely help a bunch of us who feel LOST when first playing.

@SharkTank Dominix. But haven't been in-game much these past few weeks....the pretty weather has me outdoors, fishing, hiking, etc. If ya see me in game, Holla cause it's always more enjoyable to play in a good squad that has some communication. Peace!

Nice video. i just want to ask what is happening with right arm when you sometimes have it on the loading handle and sometimes not. how do you change that? And does it improve fire rate?

So im new to the game and im kind of curious... im a younger gamer (14, 15 in a few months) and i'm curious on how the community will react to someone like me, I have hundreds of hours on Battlefield and Arma 3, I love realistic military games and World War games, also games that require teamwork. That being said, will I be judged because of my age (more than likely) and how will squad/teammates treat me? Will I be treated like anyone else? Or will I get a .45 stuck to the back of my head and domed for no reason?

Wyatt B I am also of the same age (15) but I mostly play older audience focused games and for the most part the community doesn’t care. Dead by daylight, rainbow six siege, Hell let loose. Some teams can be very very supporting and they usually only care about your skill and effort that you put in. Not your age. They would probably care about 11 or 12 year olds.

I know nobody is going to read this but basically i have 7 hours of post scriptum, I am playing on a 15 inch laptop so most of the times with all the noise I dont know when I killed someone and many times can't see enemies more than 200 meters away.

COD and BF have done ww2 shooters, now we can wait about 6-10 years to get some new AAA ww2 titles :p
But in the meantime, let's enjoy Post Scriptum and Hell let loose, which provide a much better immersion, even though tje learning curve is a lot steeper than aforementioned titles. Stick to it, the joy of actually accomplishing smthg in this game outweighs he struggles of getting chainkilled for 10 minutes sometimes.
Think about the amount of excitement you get when blowing up a tank in BF as an infantry: its about 5/10 unless you manage a great shot. Here, you can expect a 9/10 thrill, the kind of stuff that you want to tell your squad mate right away because it was so fking epic and satisfying!!
Does anyone know how do get this map? I only seem to be able to get some kind of strange virtual shooting range in game...
They removed it for some stupid reason. The new map looks cleaner but its basically useless. IF you want an alternative try and join empty servers and use admin commands

Good video! Would u consider do a video about the use of tanks, aiming, tactics etc? Theres a good yt tutorial for tiger tank, literally translated from the original manual, but for the other types of tank not really.

I don’t even know how to pick up weapons off the wall in the firing range because there is no icon on the screen telling me what button to press. I’ve even tried looking it up online but I couldn’t find anything.
There needs to be action icons telling new players what buttons to press because I’m completely lost.
i found playing sorta challenging trying to conserve stamina come from battlefield i thought you could just run to places but was not the case

The thing is they didn’t use helicopters during WW2 as they were new during that time, and if they had planes in this game I don’t know if the map would be suited for them.
Love the game, mostly know how it works but I just miss a lot with rifles 🙁

im new at this game and when i am at the shooting range and i pick one weapon the game bugs and i cant open the dial menu where you can pick your shovel grenades and that other stuff someone knows how to solve it?
I live with 7 other people, and at pretty much all times of the day other people are sleeping. If I just wanna be an unobtrusive rifleman, will I get away unharmed?

You aren’t able to pick up weapons. Whatever your class has available is what you are limited to, short of em placed weapons

I've been playing video games for almost 30 years. As long as you listen to the veteran players you'll be all right. I started online gaming when I was about 12-13. You'll be all right.
18:30 I have to disagree, a down player to a sniper is more valuable as you can take out the medic or any other soldiers who try to revive them. Is it cheap? Yeah. Dirty tactic, yeah but oh well, that's war.
