After doing hundreds of them, it only takes about 5min each, including the time of getting rid of bladders. Takes 3 times as long when making a video.

Bert, l like your videos, especially the variety of things you work on (you're not constrained to firewood). I think it would be interesting to have you show us something about your day job (I understand that you are a fine machinist). I would like to see how you make those chainsaw bar vises (by the way I've been waiting for 6 months for my order and am always told when I query about them that they're coming soon!). Pls. show us how you make them!

Looks like you got that down to a science Bert. Why do you put the top braces back on? Very useful video. I got some totes but didn't have the right bits to remove the screws. I got a set of bits from Amazon and can work on totes now. They are handy. I got 8, years ago to use as emergency water holders. I could get them free then. I would like to have more now for wood but would have to buy them.

I put top bars back in for stacking purpose that they dont tip in, and when full of wood, the top doesn't spread apart.

Fast and efficient work. What do you charge for a load of 20. I’m in northern Minnesota. So I’d have a ways to drive.

How many screws you drop in the grass? Lol Field corn is looking good along the woodyard. Farmers are still planting around here. 2nd crop soybeans and finishing up their other no-till soybeans. A field I walk by everyday the corn is about 5" tall. It may be knee high by the 4th of July here in southeastern Illinois. I'm sure there are fields that will be. I just live a sheltered life and don't see how the fields are progressing. Bert you going to try and save the old barn? Allot of old barns around here are disappearing from the landscape. Some board by board or the roof is rotting off. They are becoming a thing of the past for sure sure. Wish you could of seen a round barn before it was left to rot away. Interesting how it was built back in the day to store hay above and feed the cows below.

I dropped 1 screw in the grass. There is a round barn about 30min drive from me. It was restored and in good shape.

Hi Bert. I know Chris doesn’t like totes, but you should make several of these. They would be great for when you’re doing re-splits and then you could just go dump them in the bin without having to pick up the wood again. With your mechanical aptitude, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if you could make a better version.

@pvwjr I have thought bout doing this but trying not to lose all strength and rigidity of the tote. Chris should get a material bucket like Tony has for putting wood in. Big bucket off the loader is heavy but works.

I’m going to give it a try. I have access to totes and if I destroy a couple, oh well. I was thinking maybe keep the top bar and then make the second bar the pivot point. I’ll let you know how it goes.

@@pvwjr i would leave tob bad and put a pivot just uner it.
