Excellent video. I did everything as instructed and I was very surprised how easy it was. It only cost $90 in parts and $100 for the mighty vac. I will be doing all my oil changes from now on.
Thank you very much young lady. I followed you step by step. Even as far as going to get the Mityvac. You did an outstanding job. You save me a whole lot of money. At the time I put this comment in you had 36 likes and it is a shame to have one person to dislike your help God is good and you did a great deed in helping people save money. So whoever gave you the thumbs down disregard that and add that into your likes keep up the good work and may God keep blessing you....
Very helpful video. But a word of warning for people using the Mityvac. Do not push the rubber connector and hose too far down over the tube in the engine. I made that mistake and could not get the connector off. It took 15 minutes with a pair of needle nose pliers before I could get it off and by the time I did the connector was destroyed.
You need to send your video to Firestone in Arizona on Guadeloupe and alba school dr these yahoos don't know the proper way i had to change my oil and them dipsticks drained the oil by pulling the plug and the oil pan. I hope they didn't mess things up
This is a nice video. The only addition I would make is that LR recommends Castrol Professional for the oil. I generally like Mobil 1, but I think the other oil has some special additives that are specific to this engine. I believe it is only available at the dealership and costs around $12 to $15 per quart.
Thank you very much for the video. I started doing it myself too. However, I think Range Rover recommends Castrol Edge professional engine oil ( because it has some additives that helps lubricate some special parts new range rover engines have).
Great video. I like your approach. I can’t believe they charge you $500 for an oil change in the states. LR are expensive to run in the U.K. but that’s just silly. Thanks for the video, I might get me one of those mityvacs. 👍🏻
Thank You! I’ve never had a problem as I usually pour from a big container and eyeball it. Usually I’m spot on and once the fill system showed I needed to add more so I added a pinch. But Yes. You are correct 8.5 quarts. If the system is overfilled it will let you know and all you have to do is pull some out with the mighty vac. So yes measuring out 8.5 quarts would save you time and hassle
this is a good video thank you very much fore the step by step instructions. I'm a little skeptical on using the vac method but I suppose it's worth a shot if the vac siphons almost all 9 quarts of oil.
Rick Garza this how Land Rover does it. And if you want to make sure all the oil is out just look on the mitivac it has marks on it for each quart taken out
Nice video, it looked like there was less than 9 quarts of used oil in the mityvac when you moved it / the oil had settled later on in the video though - was that the case? Also a small tip - if you try pouring the fresh oil with the container on its side and then as soon as you can rotate it so the spout is at the top, you won’t spill any as air can enter as you pour - In fact oil containers are made this way for that reason.
David Foster-Key thank you for the tip. Actually I emptied some of the oil out of the vac bc I thought it would overflow. I didn’t show that bc not much came out when I pumped the vac again. There’s only 8.5 quarts in the engine. I said the wrong amount. Going to try to fix video. Not sure how to add words to screen yet.
Wait! Do not just use the larger hoses. The smaller hoses can go into the dipstick/channel on some vehicles; it allows for the extractor to reach the bottom of the drain pan. The larger hose connects - through included adapters - into the smaller hose and then into the Mityvac. The larger hose may not fit into the dipstick channel and may not go to the bottom of the pan; you may not get all the oil out.
The hose does not go to the bottom of the pan. There is a metal tube already installed at factory that goes to the bottom of the pan. You just hook up your hose to the metal tube and evacuate.
The video is nice, however a lady keeps the rag in a dirty place and then puts it inside the engine to clear out the filter place. ... And dirt particles will be introduced to your engine every time you are doing this.
Does that remove fine metal filings from the bottom of the engine? Is it not better to use gravity from the drain plug at the bottom to ensure any solid particles are removed (very fine metal filings from the engine)? Also is this pump recomended for any mileage vehicle? Thank you for the vid too
Yes, you can use it for any mileage vehicle. Since I do my ow. Oil changes I do actually get underneath it about every 4th oil change but in the years I have done this I have never found any metal shavings in my oil. It’s a good practice to occasionally take out the plug, but in my experience not necessary.
It would have been less expensive to take the vehicle to a specialized oil change center than what was spent on that fluid evacuator. Now you are also not cautious if you do not recycle the old oil correctly
shad go to Rudeboyspi’s question on previous comments - he had the same question. Look at the replies and someone gives step by step instructions. Hope this helps. Let me know.
Stream Rolling Just wanted to update you... I tired the instructions the reply had to rest the “Service Required” and it didn’t work :( if you know any other way please let me know thanks!!
You are the best I need to know if for the 2018 Range Rover Velar I gotta do the same Service like you did included Mityvac. I know your vehicle is 2015 do you know anything about the same on the 2018
Motorsport8cilindr I would think that if your model doesn’t have an exterior dipstick like this one then it is present under the refill cap. If it is there then I would say it could be done in the same manner. I would first see if I could navigate the menu In My car to find the oil level and resets. And if you call LR service you can always ask them if they change the oil by taking out the bottom drain plug for suctioning it out. They can get you that info.
Hello, had the same issue on my 2010 Sport. Used this; Manual Reset Procedure: 1. Press and hold the trip reset button. 2. Turn the ignition switch on to the ignition position II (one position before starting engine). 3. If the SII (Service Indicator Interval) function is enabled the information display will flash 'SERVICE' for 5 seconds and then display 'SERVICE' constantly. If the SII function is not enabled the information display will show the normal odometer and trip information. "4. If the trip reset button is released within 10 seconds of entering the reset mode "5. If the oil service value is to be reset 6. If the trip reset button is pressed for 5 seconds the display will exit the reset routine. "7. If the trip reset button is not pressed for more than 10 seconds 8. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
Nope! It's all on dash display. I dont like it because it takes about 10-15 to be able to be read by the computer after its been filled. Or if you just want to check it without doing an oil change you have to do it when your RR has at least sat for 15 minutes with the engine off-sometimes longer.
good enough..ish. I have this same model. No WAY you can squeeze your hand in there to 'hand tight'. I've tried. Gotta use a filter wrench on this truck.
Just drain the oil in the conventional way you cant be certain your removing all the old used oil using this method, some things are worth saving time on but this job renewing engine oil ? do it right to it properly
I thought this was for changing the oil in the supercharger. Bad title, and you're supposed to use the drain plug. It takes 2 minutes to lift the car and remove the skid plates in order to access the drain plug. Even a girl can do that.
Excellent video. I did everything as instructed and I was very surprised how easy it was. It only cost $90 in parts and $100 for the mighty vac. I will be doing all my oil changes from now on.
Darrell Stanley glad this video is still helpful.

The best video on UA-cam! In how to change engine oil on Land Rover !!!! Well done!👏🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you.
Thank You!! I've used the mityvac for oil changes on different vehicles but just picked up a Rover Supercharged....so this was helpful👍👍👍
Best video for Range Rover oil change!

Kenny Kang I used high mileage because mine is a 2011 and has over 80k miles on it.
Just did it the exact way you did with my 2011 supercharged. Nice and easy. Thanks!
Glad this video is still helping people. Thx
Good video but the supercharger oil also needs to be changed which people do not realize. The supercharger oil is different from engine oil. Good luck
OMG you are an excellent teacher!
Great video. I like your approach. I can’t believe they charge you $500 for an oil change in the states. LR are expensive to run in the U.K. but that’s just silly. Thanks for the video, I might get me one of those mityvacs. 👍🏻
Yes it’s absolutely absurd what they charge for maintenance here on the LR’s. $500 is correct though. Like 1 gallon of their antifreeze is like $65.
Thank you for this well done video. You make a great teacher.
1US QURAT = 946ML
Range Rover 5.0 supercharged 2010 -2012
Takes 8 Liter= 8.5 qurat
NOT 9 qurat XXXXXXXXXXXXX

An excellent and detailed video. Thank you very much.
good video....my wife would never do that lol
I have an extractor but it doesn't have the rubber gasket for the oil cap. It only has a tube for the dipstick access.
this is a good video thank you very much fore the step by step instructions. I'm a little skeptical on using the vac method but I suppose it's worth a shot if the vac siphons almost all 9 quarts of oil.
Rick Garza this how Land Rover does it. And if you want to make sure all the oil is out just look on the mitivac it has marks on it for each quart taken out
Some vehicles are designed to have oil removed like this. JLR vehicles have an extraction tube.
Great details, good job!
I need a woman like you. you are a super woman.

Thanks for the video this was very instructional.
Well done Well Done!! I have a 2011 SC and this video was priceless!!!
Stephen Cooper Thank You.
It has a sump plug that drains from the bottom
philip stevenson yes it does. This is so much easier and you don’t get dirty.
Wait! Do not just use the larger hoses.

Now the question i have is how you reset the service notification
Nice video, easy to follow for newbies
You rock thank you much
I need to remove and replace the oil pan on my 03 l322...anything special I should know ...or is it an easy job?
thank you for your videos
Lawrence fallas is an easy job. The dealership uses this method but they have a super duper vac. Lol
Best video, great job - Quick Question - How do you clean the Vac - do you rinse it with anything?
Sam Shah I don’t clean it, I just transfer the oils out of it into the oil containers I just used to refill my oil tank.
The video is nice, however a lady keeps the rag in a dirty place and then puts it inside the engine to clear out the filter place. ... And dirt particles will be introduced to your engine every time you are doing this.
well done!!!! good job...God bless you....
Do you think is only one filter in the top 4 my type of vehicle Renge rover velar 2018
Thanks
You are the best!!!!!!
alexander baez glad I was able to help. I hope.

What size is the filter wrech ??
Hi do you know how to reset the message “Service Required” when you start up? I can’t find anything how to reset it on the ‘10-‘12 models??
Thanks
shad go to Rudeboyspi’s question on previous comments - he had the same question. Look at the replies and someone gives step by step instructions. Hope this helps. Let me know.
Thank you!!!!! I will try it out hopefully it will work!!
Stream Rolling Just wanted to update you... I tired the instructions the reply had to rest the “Service Required” and it didn’t work :( if you know any other way please let me know thanks!!
Good job!
You rock
What size is that oil filter cap remover?
Bought on Amazon : STEELMAN 06128 Oil Filter Cap Wrench 90mm x 15mm
how many liter will take for maximum level
about google liters.

Even a Girl Can Do It
This is about to be me asap.
Kenya Friday-Clark once you've done it, you gonna be like that was so easy, what's next?
Do you know how to reset the "sevice required" notice on the dash?
Sanepain look at one of the replys above. Another viewer explains the process quite easily. Regards.
thank you much
Title says supercharger oil change, video shows engine oil change. Why ?
MechAdventures because my RR is the supercharged model. I’m not changing oil in the supercharger-if that’s even possible. I’m changing engine oil
Hi great video, how do you clear the "service soon" message?
Hello, had the same issue on my 2010 Sport. Used this;

MI6
fantastic
Can you help w resetting a 2011 hse? I've tried many different ways and nothing works. Thx
I make my husband do it!
Jere Gengenbach Ha!, I don’t have a husband! Lol
Do you know if this same method would work on a 2010 supercharged? Hopefully not much changed.
Any problems?
+Sozano Lavador Yes, it is the same. In fact this is the way Land Rover does it, they do not drain from the bottom
Hello!
Good job girl .... can you cook ?
nino nenavidez Ha! Yes I can. LOL
@@EvenaGirlCanDoIt Im in LOVE !
Easy!
I like You.
NO DIPSTICK ???? REALLY

hand tight is good enough..

Not really. If car takes 9 quarts like she said and she removes 9 quarts then all is good. Just put back in 9 quarts.

Dank Butler that’s not how LR does it!
Dank Butler- First your an idiot. Second.....you're an idiot
