Yes they are the best looking 👌 but I have to go back to the 63 and 64 Fairlane as a great drag car body when Ford built the Thunderbolt it was the ultimate drag car the early Falcons were a beast to o ,I have built a few of them
I was raised just three miles from Fremont Dragstrip through the late 1950's thru 1980's so, coming from a family of weekend Ford warriors, I have a lot of appreciation for these beautiful old Fords. ..some are like time capsules for me. I wish we knew back then what some of these ole boys know now, about launching these heavy cars. Looks like these new confounded suspension geometries and shock packages are really squatting the rear and getting the car down the track. ...that and line-locks, trans-brakes and roller cams. :)
Great video! I drive daily a 70 Falcon wagon, going on 20+ years. 250 inline, one barrel, automatic. Give 350 bucks for it and bout got it payed off. I recently found a HiPo gold 289, and hope to aquire. My "Hellcon" deserves it. The most dependable used car that I've owned.
@@jerrycraig6522 Hi Jerry. Your offer is extremely generous, but at this time negotiation on engine are on going. Once again I thank you for the offer and the best of luck to you and yours. 🇺🇸
Thanks, but I'm not using anything special. When I was doing these I was using a Panasonic 'Lumix', just a little point 'n shoot I've had for years. I did all the editing in iMovie. I'm not a film maker by any stretch of the imagination.
I've watched a few videos of the FE reunion and in none of them do they show, with the exception of a couple of runs, the quickest and fastest car competing, the black and white '58 ford sedan, running 8.80's? you can see it in the staging lanes at 0:55.
Back to watch this AWESOMEvideo again. While watching I asked myself, which is my favorite? I cannot pick one, ALL OF THEM are my FAORITE!! Two cars do however stand out and that was/is the Black 'n White '57 Ford seen @ 4:50 AND the redish/orangeish '62 Galaxie @ 1:45 and again @ 5:05 running a losing but nonetheless very respectable 11:28 with I'm assuming a 406 engine. There's entirely too few of the '62's left and that's a shame. Back "in tha day" the Ford 406 was a force to be reconed with ON THE STREET. They were overshadowed by the T-Bolts and other cars with the 427 and the AWESOME 427 SOHC at the strip, but whenever any of we street racers of the late '60's thru early '70's come up against a 406 in our MoPars and GM's,, we shivered in our boots 'cause we likely were gonna get our butts handed to us.
Sir, I’d like to pass a bit of info about your crane. I’m from CT mad a very good friend of to me Jonathan W. has been interested in your crane for some time. He is very easy to find on UA-cam just search Jonathan W. He wants to put back together a Corliss steam engine with your model crane!. Please get in contact with him one way or the other about it so he can put this back together in a historical fashion and post it on UA-cam. If you have any issues contacting him feel free to contact me. I live in NC and know him well. V/R
Love the nostalgia Fords, check out the new Dyno Don book... www.amazon.com/Dyno-Don-Cars-Career-Nicholson/dp/1613254059/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1530897196&sr=1-1
wow thanks dou scooter d jumping jack flash killer race covid ruined it for everyone i know right taint gonna get any better i spoos but it does kinda give you something to look forward to hopefully someday soon scooter d out of here hahaha
The mighty Ford FE series engines is still to this day the baddest most powerful lineup of engines to ever come out of Detroit from the 360 Horsepower 352 police interceptor to the 427 Sohc Cammer that made close to 700 Horsepower in stock trim with a great tune!!! #Blue Oval Nation
My old man had a 59 Galaxie with the police interceptor punched out to 390 cubes when I was in kindergarten and I still remember that car. It ran like a son of a bitch! MFer would lay rubber for a block! Then he had a 65 Galaxie with the 4 barrel, high compression dual exhaust 352 and it was even faster! Smoked more than a few small block Mustangs and Camaros especially once that sucker got rolling out on the freeway. Give them a couple lengths at 70mph then pass them so fast they thought they were going backwards.
413x398 I own quite a bit of them out in Phoenix AZ..high risers.. mid risers..center bores.. side oilers.. thunderbolts.. Holman and moody..Louis Unser. And I could build a couple more
The title says FE race and reunion. I see the race, but what about the people there? You cant say reunion and only show inanimate objects. What about the car show or the nice lunch we all had? You didnt even show the vendors or the swap meet that was there. I showed up with a 390 ranger long bed and was treated like I brought a chevy. just because i didnt go down the track to make a 17 second pass in m survivor truck, doesn't mean i wasn't there. i sat an whatch this for a half hour and not once did I see my buddies one of 12 mustang. I feel bad for all of your veiwers that didnt see a third of what this show actualy was. Over all I had a great time with a few buddies at the show and I plan to go back again. As for this video; it lacks luster. Instead of showing the same cars make passes for a half hour. You could be more involved in how thoes cars got there. The whole point of this event to charish the historical value of the FE. But not one person got to tell there FE story. The cars are great but its the people that make them great.
Jim, I'm just a guy with a point 'n shoot camera that posts this up for people that can't be there and enjoy watching the cars go down the track. I'm not a film maker. I look forward to seeing your documentary about the event after this year's gathering, I will be interested to see how you do your interviews and integrate them into the video. I've been to all of these events and have never heard or seen anyone disparage another person's vehicle because they didn't race it. Seems odd that you feel you were treated badly....sorry to hear that.
Great camera work. Thanks. Nice and clear and on the good stuff. :love it !!!
Love the editing with the chop top Ford pickup. Bought the truck into dimension....
Nothin like the sound of an FE big block with a wide open throttle....
They sound so good with uncapped headers and nice lumpy cams!!!
The 1966 and 67 ford fair lanes were some of the prettiest cars ever built
I had a 67’ 390 up here in Montana. 18,000 original mi. It was driven on Sunday if the weather was nice.

Agreed. I’m 55. They are beautiful. Same as mid sixties GTX. Amazing lines.
LUV old"er" FE iron. The '64 / '65 Falcon, Comets were sharp, crisp lines that set them apart from all others.
Great video one of the better quality ones to what camera are you using

@@bensunkl oh okay Thank you
Thank you bensunki, this is among my very most favorite videos on UA-cam, well done, well done indeed!
thank you for showing some of the most beautiful cars of the 1960's
Cars should be matched by weight
I'll take one each please. 1962, 64 Galaxie 500, 64 Thunderbolt, 68, 69 Cobra Jet Mustang, 67 Fairlane, 68 Fairlane Cobra Jet, 70 Cougar Eliminator w/Boss 302 ..and a 1970 Torino 429 Super Cobra Jet ...R-code and drag-pak cars where applicable.

I always have fun at the Beaver!
The Fairlane @ 7.40 had it dialed in....

It would be nice to see more close-up pictures in the pits to show the cars in detail
Gotta 💘 those old fords

Thank you!!!! I always have work on this weekend. You do great work. I'll make it for this race one year.
Love the Cyclones
Thank you for the great coverage and sharing this video. I love FE engines and own a 416 cubic inch 1967 Mustang GTA fastback.

the 5th annual ford edsel race day huh!?
Oh my, that track was not happy. Thanks for "weathering" it out for us.
64 Wagon!!!+???AWESOME!
at 5:40 is that thing in the left lane really
FE powered? left lane as in looking down the track.
Yes it sure was, all the cars going down the track were. Despite some dampness it was an excellent event.
BEAUTIFUL ol TORINO! :-)!!
Cool video
Excellent video as usual! I openly weep for the people who don't own FE's. Poor bastids.
Glad I was finally able to attend this event this year, unforunately without my car. Great video allows me to relive some of the runs over & over.
My question is if you go .030 over are you going to change your name to 416x398?
413x398 I own quite a bit of them out in Phoenix AZ..high risers.. mid risers..center bores.. side oilers.. thunderbolts.. Holman and moody..Louis Unser. And I could build a couple more
